Malgré cela, l’endroit est loué pour son agencement à plusieurs niveaux, son espace de danse généreux et sa capacité à accueillir des soirées thématiques ou des concerts intenses. En somme, New City Gas est une référence du nightlife montréalais, offrant des expériences spectaculaires tout en appelant à une meilleure gestion des flux lors des gros événements.
Yesterday was my first time visiting New City Gas, & I just want to share how wonderful our experience was.
My wife is pregnant, so we were a bit concerned about comfort & guidance when we arrived At the VIP entrance, there was an Asian Indian gentleman Abdul who truly made our night special. He kindly helped us with the coat check, patiently explained everything about the venue, & made sure we felt comfortable & welcomed.
His kindness, professionalism, & respectful attitude really stood out. It's rare to meet someone who goes the extra mile with such genuine care.
If you're seeing this, sir - thank you so much once again. We truly appreciate you. 🙏

The absolutely worst venue in Montreal. They prioritize VIP line (of course) so the regular coat check (since they have only two workers for this line, takes literally a whole hour to move. I saw a security guy screaming at a girl & pushing her touching her everywhere while someone was peeing in a flower jar & they were doing nothing about it.
Good club, overcrowded bars & they have sectional for vip only. I'd recommend a smaller venue you'll get more bang for your buck. Unless you're going to see a well known artist.
Addition to owner's response: I appreciate the response & sincerely believe that you take safety seriously. Although I've never felt unsafe, as most of the people there are there to have fun & not fight, the sheer mass of people jammed into the main room has been concerning at a couple events. Balancing some level of comfort with selling enough tickets is a tough line to tread, but it's definitely gotten uncomfortably squishy in there.
It's fun when it's fun & it sucks when it's jammed with people.
Generally a good place to go but I feel like they way oversell some events.
Staff are generally pretty nice for a club. You occasionally actually get a smile from bartenders & security doesn't assault you during their check at the front door.
It's really just the people. When you jam that many people into a small space it gets miserable & people start getting annoying .. then the Chads & Brads start fights, kills the vibe, etc.
If you go there on a night that isn't sold out it should be a good time. Otherwise consider VIP to be able to breathe.
We went to NCG to see DJ Pauly D on Feb 28. We bought VIP tickets & braced ourselves given the amount of negative reviews. I can say with confidence that the negative reviews are a gen-pop & management problem.
VIP tickets are the fast way in & out, through coat check, own bar & bathrooms, etc. Bar staff/all staff we encountered were pleasant & zero issues with aggression in regard to tips. We even danced with a dozen police officers who quietly & politely came in to observe a few people, without incident. This night was nearly sold out, & we had ample dancing room near the VIP bar. We started leaving the venue 20 minutes before close to avoid the rush, & coat check ran smoothly.
Gen-pop most definitely looked like a very, very long wait to leave the building & I'm glad we splurged for the VIP tickets. It is obvious at the coat check/exit lines that the problem is mainly understaffing. Given the volume of this venue (2500 people), I am surprised patrons & management expect it to run like a venue of 250 people. I leave hockey games 10 minutes early too.
More staff are needed at the coat check desk, we only saw 3 or 4 which is grossly insufficient to handle a wave of over 2000 possibly intoxicated people trying to get outside at once. More staff are needed to direct the flow of people. Metal gates acting as pathways only help so much, but management/staff were expecting people to leave the coat check line to exit the building *through* the line entering the coat check, heavily slowing everyone down.
Drinks were average price, not what was implied in many reviews; we were ordering gin & tonics & gin & club sodas for $12 each.
It was February, cold, but the venue wasn't cold as described.
We had an amazing time & would absolutely return but only with VIP tickets again. They are 100% worth it.
La boîte est assez sympa & grande. Par contre le staff & l'organisation c'est une honte. La file pour le vestiaire n'a aucun sens, j'ai attendu plus longtemps avec un vestiaire pré-payé que ceux sans ticket, ça n'a aucun intérêt de le prendre. Lors de la fin du show, il y a une sortie rapide pour les quelques VIP, & les autres doivent s'agglutiner dans les escaliers & faire tout le grand tour pour arriver au vestiaire (la encore, 2 vestiaires, mais une seule file commune, c'est complètement idiot). On a mis 35min a sortir. Le staff est tout simplement odieux & irrespectueux, je me suis fait mal parler & tirer par l'épaule pour me dire d'aller dans telle ou telle file alors qu'il n'y a aucune explication ou marquage. & l'apothéose : un peu poussé à bout je finis par élever la voix de mécontentement, la réponse fut immédiate. Le membre du staff a lancé l'appel de détresse sur sa radio, donc 8 autres membres ont débarqué sans poser de question pour m'empoigner & me diriger de force vers la sortie. Une fois que j'ai pu expliquer la situation au chef du staff ils se sont calmés & j'ai pu revenir dans la boîte. Mais choqué de la violence disproportionnée de leur réaction. Organisez-vous convenablement & virez vos cowboys, cela rendra l'expérience bien plus agréable pour vos clients
Excellent venue in Montreal - caters to the best names & has the best light system for a local venue - can get busy but the VIP tickets are worth the price
The lighting & audio is top notch & if you can afford VIP I'm sure its a great time. Unfortunately if you're general attendance get ready to be squished like sardines, with no place to sit if you want to take breaks & with terrible temperature control (it was at least 35 degrees in there all 3 times I went)

The staff is amazing, but the venue is always cold. Be sure to wear a sweater. I highly recommend getting VIP if you're visiting alone, which I do a lot due to my work schedule
It was clean & the staff were very nice. The VIP isn't worth it if youre hoping to be close to the stage unless you're with a group & get one of the best tables early.
L'endroit est bien.. le show bien aussi!!! mais beaucoup trop de gens!! Aucun sens....!!!! Même que ça doit être over la capacité permise pour être sécuritaire ... si quelque chose arrive,probablement plusieurs seront piétiné c'est certain... aller a la salle de bain un gros contrat quand tu es a l'opposé de la salle.. le vip est trop loin de la scène.. donc nous sommes allé en bas au final...! Des heures pour recuperer son manteau au vestiaire meme avant la fin tellement il y a trop de monde.: bref un non pour une prochaine fois..!
