Globalement, les avis présentent New City Gas comme une destination nocturne à l’impact fort: son et lumière de premier ordre, ambiance électrique et énergie de foule remarquable, avec des productions et des DJ de qualité qui font souvent sensation. Cependant, la fréquentation peut être très élevée et le lieu peut devenir surpeuplé, le contrôle de foule n’est pas toujours suffisant et les files au vestiaire ou à la sortie peuvent être longues. Le personnel est majoritairement perçu comme professionnel et accueillant, et le vestiaire ainsi que la sécurité obtiennent des retours positifs, surtout lors des soirées très demandées où le billet VIP est recommandé pour plus de confort. Le coût des boissons est souvent jugé élevé et l’organisation peut varier selon les soirées, surtout quand c’est sold out. Malgré cela, l’endroit est loué pour son agencement à plusieurs niveaux, son espace de danse généreux et sa capacité à accueillir des soirées thématiques ou des concerts intenses. En somme, New City Gas est une référence du nightlife montréalais, offrant des expériences spectaculaires tout en appelant à une meilleure gestion des flux lors des gros événements.
Good club, overcrowded bars & they have sectional for vip only. I'd recommend a smaller venue you'll get more bang for your buck. Unless you're going to see a well known artist.
Addition to owner's response: I appreciate the response & sincerely believe that you take safety seriously. Although I've never felt unsafe, as most of the people there are there to have fun & not fight, the sheer mass of people jammed into the main room has been concerning at a couple events. Balancing some level of comfort with selling enough tickets is a tough line to tread, but it's definitely gotten uncomfortably squishy in there.
It's fun when it's fun & it sucks when it's jammed with people.
Generally a good place to go but I feel like they way oversell some events.
Staff are generally pretty nice for a club. You occasionally actually get a smile from bartenders & security doesn't assault you during their check at the front door.
It's really just the people. When you jam that many people into a small space it gets miserable & people start getting annoying .. then the Chads & Brads start fights, kills the vibe, etc.
If you go there on a night that isn't sold out it should be a good time. Otherwise consider VIP to be able to breathe.
The place was super duper crowded. You can barely dance. The club is huge & has fancy lights. Good crowd though. The staff is friendly. I would say pick & choose your DJ. We went with Camel Phat & was 3/5. Have seen much better lightening & sounds than this but it is worth a visit if you love partying. Drinks are $$$.

We went to NCG to see DJ Pauly D on Feb 28. We bought VIP tickets & braced ourselves given the amount of negative reviews. I can say with confidence that the negative reviews are a gen-pop & management problem.
VIP tickets are the fast way in & out, through coat check, own bar & bathrooms, etc. Bar staff/all staff we encountered were pleasant & zero issues with aggression in regard to tips. We even danced with a dozen police officers who quietly & politely came in to observe a few people, without incident. This night was nearly sold out, & we had ample dancing room near the VIP bar. We started leaving the venue 20 minutes before close to avoid the rush, & coat check ran smoothly.
Gen-pop most definitely looked like a very, very long wait to leave the building & I'm glad we splurged for the VIP tickets. It is obvious at the coat check/exit lines that the problem is mainly understaffing. Given the volume of this venue (2500 people), I am surprised patrons & management expect it to run like a venue of 250 people. I leave hockey games 10 minutes early too.
More staff are needed at the coat check desk, we only saw 3 or 4 which is grossly insufficient to handle a wave of over 2000 possibly intoxicated people trying to get outside at once. More staff are needed to direct the flow of people. Metal gates acting as pathways only help so much, but management/staff were expecting people to leave the coat check line to exit the building *through* the line entering the coat check, heavily slowing everyone down.
Drinks were average price, not what was implied in many reviews; we were ordering gin & tonics & gin & club sodas for $12 each.
It was February, cold, but the venue wasn't cold as described.
We had an amazing time & would absolutely return but only with VIP tickets again. They are 100% worth it.
Best edm venue/club I've been to so far (including some top tier places around the world)! World class DJ's almost every weekend! Insane! Lucky to live in Ottawa not extremely far away!
Je suis allé à ce night-club plusieurs fois & j'ai toujours passé de bonnes soirées. Les artistes qui viennent sont différents à chaque fois, ce qui rend l'ambiance intéressante. L'organisation est bien faite, & on ne met pas trop de temps avant d'entrer.
Le seul petit problème, c'est qu'il y a parfois vraiment beaucoup de monde par rapport à la place disponible, ce qui peut rendre l'endroit un peu serré.
So! I came to this club on nye & lost my phone. Despite the frustration I decided I came to Montréal for a good time & I will forget about my phone for the moment. Every time I got a drink I asked if a phone had been returned, there was one (not mine) but each of them said to come back at 3am, so I did. Coming back I went through every bouncer at the front telling them I had lost my phone. Once I was inside I looked all around the floor & could not find it. They have these plastic buckets by the bar & my friend had told me she felt like I dropped my phone in the bucket along with my drink. Suddenly I had a flashback of that happening & told the manager, a bouncer brought me to the dishwashing room & it was not there. I then explained my coat check ticket was ALSO in my phone case. He brought me to the coat check & I had to wait for everyone else to get their coats. A lovely man working asked me why I was standing there & I explained my situation. He went to look for my phone in the dishwashing room again. He returned & walked by me not saying anything. BUT! I saw a phone in his hand & it was happily returned to me. The staff really helped me & it is greatly appreciated. Side note, my friend tipped one of the lady bartenders, she said that's not enough then tipped herself a hefty amount which i consider to be incredibly greedy & rude. So that's the only beef I have with club. Lastly, Markus Schulz played a fire set & I will be returning!
Went to see Adventure Club & also the New Year Markus Schulz show. The venue is cool, the sound is decent, the staff was all professional. A few notes: Some of the bartenders do not know English well, I ordered a Gin Soda, & was given a Grey Goose Soda with lemon juice (costs $3 more than what I wanted). Not a big deal, but it was annoying. The New Years event was extremely crowded, you could not move at all, packed full of people, it would have been better if there was less people. Giving it 4/5 cause the overcrowded New Years event was disappointing, otherwise the Adventure Club event was a 5/5.
Overall a good experience It would be a full 5 stars if the drinks weren't absolutely off-the-wall priced. I mean 3 drinks for $81 with tip. A line needs to be drawn. I know it's a club, & it's supposed to be more expensive. But you also have to buy tickets ($32) each at least. I just think it's a little unnecessary to charge so much for drinks! Anyway, FYI, pre-drink before you go. P.S. Water isn't free; it's like $6 a bottle or something ludicrous. Oh, & I forgot to mention keeping the water in the bathrooms warm. Personally, I think it's a crime to do that. But here we are. But their $5 water or die of dehydration.

Je suis retournée dans ce club après deux ans, & l'ambiance était décevante pour un samedi soir. Par contre, la sécurité était plus sympa & polie que la dernière fois
Great club, great staff, amazing security team, on saturday night, my friend & I went to new city gas & she lost her phone there, the staff, especially the supervisor, was awesome & super helpful. I wanted to take a moment & thank them again for their assistance.
J'adore le New City Gas, un des meilleurs clubs à Montréal avec un magnifique décor & des bons djs! Cependant une altercation est arrivée dimanche dernier avec le bouncer à l'accueil qui checkait les id (jeune arabe 21-22, 5'10, cheveux courts). On est 4 filles qui ont toutes acheté nos billets à 40$, ma soeur avait pas son id mais elle l'avait en photo & elle lui explique ; il lui répond super bête & rudement : Vas là bas! Je vais t'expliquer comment ça marche ici blablabla.. On est genre choquées, on l'attend: il commence à nous crier après d'avancer, grosse attitude il est super agressif, on lui repond qu'on attend ma soeur & tout, il se fâche. Finalement on va chercher le superviseur qui le vire de son poste sur le champ & qui prend le temps de regarder avec nous & nous laisser entrer! Merci infiniment à lui. **Ps : je sais que c'est la faute de ma soeur qui avait pas son id, mais il y a une facon de parler aux gens. Le gars clairement a un egotrip, il nous criait après comme jamais & etait super agressif, je me suis jamais fait parlé comme ça par une sécurité. Il n'est pas fait pour le service à la clientèle.
