Globalement, les avis présentent New City Gas comme une destination nocturne à l’impact fort: son et lumière de premier ordre, ambiance électrique et énergie de foule remarquable, avec des productions et des DJ de qualité qui font souvent sensation. Cependant, la fréquentation peut être très élevée et le lieu peut devenir surpeuplé, le contrôle de foule n’est pas toujours suffisant et les files au vestiaire ou à la sortie peuvent être longues. Le personnel est majoritairement perçu comme professionnel et accueillant, et le vestiaire ainsi que la sécurité obtiennent des retours positifs, surtout lors des soirées très demandées où le billet VIP est recommandé pour plus de confort. Le coût des boissons est souvent jugé élevé et l’organisation peut varier selon les soirées, surtout quand c’est sold out. Malgré cela, l’endroit est loué pour son agencement à plusieurs niveaux, son espace de danse généreux et sa capacité à accueillir des soirées thématiques ou des concerts intenses. En somme, New City Gas est une référence du nightlife montréalais, offrant des expériences spectaculaires tout en appelant à une meilleure gestion des flux lors des gros événements.
Vraiment déçue. Nous sommes allés à un événement ce soir. Ça a pris plus d'une heure entre notre arrivée & le coat Check. En plus de ça, mis appart les serveurs, tous les autres employés sont rudes. On a consommé toute la nuit & une fois qu'on a pris nos manteaux on nous met à la porte. On voulait juste attendre notre uber à l'intérieur, au chaud, & un agent de sécurité passif-agressif nous force à sorti
I went there for the New Year's Eve event, & they clearly oversold it. The place was extremely crowded - I couldn't move or even dance. People were constantly squeezing past us. I eventually started feeling claustrophobic, had a panic attack, & had to leave.
When we went to get our coats, the crowd was so intense that I couldn't even reach the coat check or breathe properly. We decided to come back the next day to pick them up.
However, when we returned, the place was closed for the next two weeks. Their opening hours here were not updated, so we went there twice only to realize they were closed.
After two weeks, I finally went back with our coat check tickets & initials. They were only able to find one of our coats. They told me they would call me about the other one - but no one ever did. I called multiple times & sent emails, & no one responded. No one even apologized for losing my coat.
What is the point of paying for coat check if they're going to lose it? How was my coat given to someone else if they didn't have the ticket for it?
I'm extremely disappointed & will never go back.

Yesterday was my first time visiting New City Gas, & I just want to share how wonderful our experience was.
My wife is pregnant, so we were a bit concerned about comfort & guidance when we arrived At the VIP entrance, there was an Asian Indian gentleman Abdul who truly made our night special. He kindly helped us with the coat check, patiently explained everything about the venue, & made sure we felt comfortable & welcomed.
His kindness, professionalism, & respectful attitude really stood out. It's rare to meet someone who goes the extra mile with such genuine care.
If you're seeing this, sir - thank you so much once again. We truly appreciate you. 🙏

The absolutely worst venue in Montreal. They prioritize VIP line (of course) so the regular coat check (since they have only two workers for this line, takes literally a whole hour to move. I saw a security guy screaming at a girl & pushing her touching her everywhere while someone was peeing in a flower jar & they were doing nothing about it.
The venue was severely overbooked, which led to a disappointing experience. We felt packed in like sardines, & the logistics failed at every turn. Despite pre-paying for coat check, we waited an hour to enter & another thirty minutes to retrieve our coats at the end of the night. I am very disappointed that this is the main venue in mtl for edm artist.
Sophie & Valérie au coat check étaient tellement gentilles & sympathiques. Nous avions mal entrer le numéro de téléphone & elles nous ont tellement aidé. Wow! Service incroyable!
L'événement était incroyable (crankdat) mais, salle mal faite, ptite madame du coat chek merci de pu me parler comme si jtais un moins que rien. Malgré tout, belle ambiance, toilette impeccable il y a juste la gestion du monde à grandement améliorer (1h30 pour reprendre 1 hood)

We went to NCG to see DJ Pauly D on Feb 28. We bought VIP tickets & braced ourselves given the amount of negative reviews. I can say with confidence that the negative reviews are a gen-pop & management problem.
VIP tickets are the fast way in & out, through coat check, own bar & bathrooms, etc. Bar staff/all staff we encountered were pleasant & zero issues with aggression in regard to tips. We even danced with a dozen police officers who quietly & politely came in to observe a few people, without incident. This night was nearly sold out, & we had ample dancing room near the VIP bar. We started leaving the venue 20 minutes before close to avoid the rush, & coat check ran smoothly.
Gen-pop most definitely looked like a very, very long wait to leave the building & I'm glad we splurged for the VIP tickets. It is obvious at the coat check/exit lines that the problem is mainly understaffing. Given the volume of this venue (2500 people), I am surprised patrons & management expect it to run like a venue of 250 people. I leave hockey games 10 minutes early too.
More staff are needed at the coat check desk, we only saw 3 or 4 which is grossly insufficient to handle a wave of over 2000 possibly intoxicated people trying to get outside at once. More staff are needed to direct the flow of people. Metal gates acting as pathways only help so much, but management/staff were expecting people to leave the coat check line to exit the building *through* the line entering the coat check, heavily slowing everyone down.
Drinks were average price, not what was implied in many reviews; we were ordering gin & tonics & gin & club sodas for $12 each.
It was February, cold, but the venue wasn't cold as described.
We had an amazing time & would absolutely return but only with VIP tickets again. They are 100% worth it.
***I am happy to remove or change my review to 5 stars once the coat check system is fixed Putting a 1 star review to complain about the new coat check system that was put in place. It took us 1h30 to get out of the venue after the music was done at 3 am. This is horrendous. Hope that a fix will be implemented in time for New Year. *on New Year the Coat Check was a lot better & it was a lot faster when they did not use the machines
So! I came to this club on nye & lost my phone. Despite the frustration I decided I came to Montréal for a good time & I will forget about my phone for the moment. Every time I got a drink I asked if a phone had been returned, there was one (not mine) but each of them said to come back at 3am, so I did. Coming back I went through every bouncer at the front telling them I had lost my phone. Once I was inside I looked all around the floor & could not find it. They have these plastic buckets by the bar & my friend had told me she felt like I dropped my phone in the bucket along with my drink. Suddenly I had a flashback of that happening & told the manager, a bouncer brought me to the dishwashing room & it was not there. I then explained my coat check ticket was ALSO in my phone case. He brought me to the coat check & I had to wait for everyone else to get their coats. A lovely man working asked me why I was standing there & I explained my situation. He went to look for my phone in the dishwashing room again. He returned & walked by me not saying anything. BUT! I saw a phone in his hand & it was happily returned to me. The staff really helped me & it is greatly appreciated. Side note, my friend tipped one of the lady bartenders, she said that's not enough then tipped herself a hefty amount which i consider to be incredibly greedy & rude. So that's the only beef I have with club. Lastly, Markus Schulz played a fire set & I will be returning!
New City Gas is an electrifying experience! The nightclub boasts exceptional sound & visual effects, creating an immersive atmosphere. With reasonable drink prices, it's a win-win. Just remember to book your coat check in advance to avoid unnecessary wait times-saves you at least 45 mins!
Im gonna be honest, I read some negative reviews about logistics inside the club but I have to say everything went pretty smoothly. Quick coat check lines, the security were pretty organized, good sound system. Honestly had an awesome time.
I love NCG , but lately the employees & the organization are very messy. Security screaming with every one, coatcheck messy. We went a lot last year & 3 times this year was enough to take a break.
