Poutine Montreal truly lives up to its reputation for having some of the best fried chicken in Montreal-crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, & full of flavor. Absolutely loved it!
I was also pleasantly surprised by their customized rum + hot water + honey drink-I ordered it for a sore throat, & it was honestly amazing & very comforting. Such a thoughtful & warming touch.
The only downside was the hot chocolate, which didn't quite meet expectations.
Overall, great food, excellent fried chicken, & a memorable experience. Would definitely come back again! 🍗🥃
Beautiful spot & tasty food. It's in an little courtyard surrounded by old buildings. The food was very good & the service was great. Did is reasonably priced, drink are kinda high, 4$ for a bottle of water, 12$ glass of beer. Our server, Charlotte, was very nice. We ate outside but there were lots of tables inside as well.
What could have been a great spot for a drink & a smoked meat sandwich turned into a pretty uncomfortable situation.
We each ordered a drink & a smoked meat sandwich. The bartender at the start seemed great, & we noticed a new bartender had started her shift no red flags. But after 30 minutes passed with no sign of our food, we started to feel something was off. People who had arrived after us were getting their food & even closing their tabs.
I tried to flag down the new bartender, but she was clearly overwhelmed juggling drink orders, food service, payments, & seemingly running the floor on her own. After nearly an hour, with empty glasses & no food, we decided to leave $20 on the bar & head out, as we had dinner reservations to get to.
As we were walking out, the bartender yelled & chased after us, accusing us of walking out on our bill even though we hadn't interacted with her once & had left cash on the bar. It was a really strange & disappointing end to what should've been a chill stop.
No vegan option for poutine on the menu, the gravy contains gluten, not all waiters were able to inform us about allergens & there was no way to look it up, it took 3 people to bring us a QR code to the menu, there was lint in the drink of my partner, I received a different beer than ordered, there was a piece of cheese in my'vegan' poutine, I did not receive onions on my poutine even though it was ordered.
The food was amazing. Service great. People complaining about no tap water must be the type to drink hotdog water. Great spot, will come again. 🫶💯
Best place to eat, drink & socialize in Montreal! I couldn't find a negative thing about Montreal Poutine even if I tried! The ambience, the space/decoration, the fast service & the food quality are unparalleled! The staff is amazing! Friendly but discreet, they're at your disposal whenever you need them! They made a great experience even more memorable! We'll definitely make it our « go to » place !
This is charming restaurant in a busy tourist area. The drinks were delicious & so was the smoked meat poutine. The waitstaff were friendly & service was quick. We found it to be a very satisfying experience.
Yum yum yum. Service was great, the poutine options were great, bathrooms were clean & the drinks were cold. Was an excellent place to split some poutine & warm up from the cool outside. Just a few steps from the road to get an Uber.
Service was slow, prices were high. Food & drinks were ok. The outdoor patio seems great but there's a ton of birds perched above pooping down on guests.
The hostess was very friendly & seated my family right away. We were unfortunately at a high top table with very uncomfortable stools that were slightly too short for the table. The atmosphere was okay, every table on the terrace was full. After sitting, we waited over 15 min for our server to finally show up, & this was after my husband finally got his attention. *Note: our table was next to the servers' entrance to the kitchen area, we were visible to every server.* He arrived, no apology, no warm greeting, just took our order & left. That was the last we saw of him the entire time. He did not deliver the food, nor did he ever check if we wanted to get a new drink, nor did he ask how the meal was. He also never gave us our bill. Again we waited, obviously finished eating, for 15-20 min before a lady came over to clear our dishes. At that time, my husband said we had been waiting for a long time for our server to come give us our bill. He never did, but she did. Now, the food: I ordered a chicken strips meal. It was almost $20. I expected full sized (large) strips. I got 3 strips that were slightly longer & thicker than a human finger. None of my party ate their whole meal, as it was just "okay" at best. Would not recommend this place at all.
Without a doubt, the best poutine in the Old Port. The fries are never soft. My favorite is the Italian Poutine, which comes with ground beef on top & is delicious. They don't serve tap water there because the pipes are old, so take advantage & order another drink. If you go inside, upstairs, you have a beautiful view of Rue St. Paul. However, the stairs are old & the steps are short. I don't recommend it for people with mobility issues. The downstairs is nice & quite pleasant, but I don't know if it's open in the winter. I've only been there in the summer (it was wonderful). The poutines are one of the best in the area (around $17.50). I recommend it!
We went there for a drink early afternoon. Casual. Charming. Excellent service!
Visited this place because of google suggestions, tried poutine & mocktail, food & drink was good however service was very unpleasant, it felt like person at the front didn't want us there.
We've been trying different poutines across Montreal & Quebec City, so we opted to try this one, sitting in the heart of Old Montreal city. We chose to sit indoors instead of the patio as the sun was heavy & hot that day. We ordered one ($15.99) to share with two drinks. A peach juice & a blue raspberry slushie. ($35 taxes included) The poutine was meh average, nothing special & not at all a show stopper to write home about. The gravy tasted the same as Harvey's poutine. Yes, I'm not proud that I'm comparing to Harvey's gravy but Yes, I'm dead serious! The peach juice was nice & refreshing, but the slushie had a DEAD BEE crushed with the ice!! It was absolutely disgusting to find AFTER my guest finished her drink!! All they did was remove the drink from the bill & apologized. The wooden tables & chairs & dining space in the upstairs dinette was cozy & nice bright from the sun.
We came just for drinks & we had blast. Chic & boho place. Good beer & Aperol. They made accommodations for us to stay past the time.
We were looking forward to try famous dish of Quebec: we ordered different variations of this dish & were not disappointed. It tasted great! Size of each dish looked different: one was fully filled & another was overflowing... be aware that this place doesn't provide complementary water. We ordered lemonade & grapefruit juice. Both drinks tasted great 👍
Not crowded with air conditioning! Their poutine & deli sandwiches are pretty good. The only down side is they don't serve water at all, so if you're thirsty you kind of have to order a drink.
