Absolutely love this place. I've been here more than once & it's always worth it in my opinion. The chicken paella is my absolute favorite - the flavor is so good & I genuinely love every ingredient in it.
I also really appreciate how easy it is to navigate the menu with a gluten intolerance, since the gluten-free items are clearly marked. Everything I've tried here has been delicious, including the rice pudding & bravas!
The staff are always super friendly & go above & beyond. On my last visit, our server recommended a glass of white wine that paired perfectly with my paella, which I really appreciated. Definitely one of the places I recommend when people want really good Spanish food in Montreal. Will absolutely be back.
The food is amazing. I didn't expect to find the real Spanish taste.
The black rice is amazing.
I went for first time & l can say that l will come back.
A Late-Night Gem Serving Unforgettable Flavors!
If you're exploring Montreal & find yourself craving fantastic food after most kitchens have closed, look no further than Montreal Paella! This place is a true savior for night owls & food lovers, proving that late-night eats don't have to be ordinary.
The atmosphere is lively & authentic, making you feel like you've stumbled into a cozy tapas bar in Barcelona. We started with the Pulpo A La Gallega - the octopus was incredibly tender, perfectly smoky, & seasoned with paprika & olive oil that made every bite a small celebration.
But the real star of the show was the Mariscos Paella. Packed with fresh seafood-succulent mussels, clams, shrimp, & more-this dish was an absolute flavor explosion. The saffron-infused rice was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of socarrat (that delicious crispy bottom layer). Every spoonful transported us straight to the Mediterranean coast.
Whether you're ending a night out or simply in the mood for exceptional Spanish cuisine, Montreal Paella delivers on all fronts. I'm already dreaming of my next visit to Montreal just to have another taste. ¡Olé!
This paella spot was a pleasure. The host was super kind, the food was great - & authentic (the host was Spanish... & it's not like a guy from India is making the food). I had the seafood paella (marisco) which was served with some mysterious local (to Valencia I'm guessing) sauce that you mix with the rice. I think it was some sort of aioli sauce or spread. I'm happy I ventured into this spot.
Came here for dinner as a group of 4. The service was great, the food was delicious, & the atmosphere was pleasant. We ordered the Croquetas de Jamón Ibérico & another starter (forgot the name) which were both delicious. They were also filling while waiting for our Black Rice Paella. Absolutely delicious, & will definitely come again.
I had the mixta paella & I requested for there to be a little kick of spice. From the first bite I was transported a world away. The rice really soaked in the flavour & each mouthful had a little chicken or seafood with it. You can tell that they love what they do in that kitchen!!!!
Wow! Amazing Paella & I loved the Spanish tortilla. Would be back if I was local!
Paella took a while, but that's the nature of it. I got the seafood & my wife got the black rice. Both were excellent. Loved the individual portions too.
I wasn't sure whether to leave a review, but I've decided to be honest. This is a small restaurant with friendly service, which I do appreciate. That said, the food really let it down. The bruschetta was the only thing I enjoyed. The paella was frankly terrible - the rice was way too salty & completely bland otherwise. It was disappointing, especially since I'd just come back from Spain & was craving a proper paella. The dish looked nice, but the flavour just wasn't there.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! I ordered the seafood paella - it was absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked & full of flavor, & I enjoyed every last bite. My wife had the seafood soup, which was served in a cast iron pot that kept it warm throughout the meal. It was also incredibly tasty. We were only in Montreal for two days, & I truly regret not coming back for a second visit. Highly recommended!
How can you resist the delicious taste of 36-month Spanish ham with juicy tomato bread?
The paella valencian is delicious. The rice below fully absorbs the essence of the gravy .Make me ate a lot of rice.
I want to try it again after trying it once!
The ambiance & service was excellent. We started with fried calamari which was fried in a white bread coating which was very good but lacked quantity for the price. My wife had the seafood with monk fish paella & I had the traditional Valencian paella with chicken & rabbit. However, one chicken leg & a very small piece of rabbit mostly bone was very disappointing. You expected the taste of the chicken & especially rabbit to have some flavor in the rice as it should because it was cooked in it but there wasn't. The dish looked empty. The same with my wife's dish. A couple a small shrimps, a few mussels & calamari & the monk fish, three miniscule pieces. It lacked the taste of the seafood.
Both paellas lacked the main ingredients of what what you ordered: seafood, chicken & rabbit. For this reason I will not go back or recommend.
It was an incredible experience! We ordered the black rice, which was perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, & loaded with fresh seafood. The creamy croquetas were another highlight-crispy on the outside & bursting with flavor inside. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the staff were attentive & friendly. If you're looking for an authentic paella experience, this spot is a must-try!
This is real paella (& I'm Spanish). Do not sleep on the black rice as well. The service provided by Mario was also impeccable. I truly recommend this place.
We were okay with 40min waiting time which is reasonable for freshly cooked food but they took the wrong order. the black rice one was delicious but the chicken seem to be not the freshest my two friends both who ordered it has stomach issue after.
Fantastic croquettes (try them all, trust me). Delicious seafood paella with crispy toasty rice bits. Super friendly service.
I've been going for years & it feels like I'm back in Spain every time ! Strat with a classic Tinto de Verano, & share delicious patatas bravas, while waiting for authentic Spanish Paella 🥘 (personal favorite the black rice one 🤤) ... For a slice of Spanish gastronomy go to Montreal Paella! This family will take care of you 💕
This is my first time to try paella. Everything is perfect! Warm & friendly staff. Croqueta de Jamón Iberico/Ham crispy shell perfect filling. Fresh seafood wrapped in rice exploded in the mouth. Will come again.
Recently dined at Montreal Paella & it was a paella lover's dream. The paella was a flavor explosion with perfectly cooked rice & a delightful mix of seafood & chicken. (I had the Mixta paella) But let's talk about those croquetas-crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, & so addictive I couldn't stop eating. The service was top-notch, & the authentic vibe made it a standout experience. If you're into paella, this place is a must-visit. I practically rolled out, happily stuffed.
