Mon Village Restaurant reçoit des éloges pour un service chaleureux et attentif et une ambiance chaleureuse et rustique, avec des clients qui saluent des portions généreuses, des ingrédients frais et des plats qui vont du steak bien cuit au poulet moelleux jusqu'au rôti et aux Coquilles Saint-Jacques, le tout dans une atmosphère accueillante près de la cheminée; le menu est varié et offre un bon rapport qualité-prix, et beaucoup de convives affirment qu'ils reviendront, même si certains témoignages notent des services parfois plus lents, des heures d'affluence et une certaine irrégularité en cuisine depuis la pandémie.
This was a new experience. I have, over the years, heard about the food at Mon Village, especially their Prime Rib.
I wish I too was able to try it. But we were too late. We arrived for the reservation early, at 7:30 after a game of golf, & were told they were out of the prime rib.🥲
So I ordered the Chicken & Ribs & my husband had the Coquille.
The chicken breast was perfectly cooked & juicy. The ribs...I wanted more. It was served with home-cut fries, the best, & steamed veggies (they were a bit undercooked for my liking). The sauce that smothered both proteins was slightly sweet & tangy. I completely loved it.
The coquille's sauce was just like my mom used to make. Potatoes circled the mushroom & seafood filling. It too was served with steamed vegetables but here my husband got rice instead of fries.
The only disappointment we had was that the prime rib wasn't available. We were told that service starts at 5 pm until they have no more left. Some days it sells out quickly & some days not. Reservations of meat are not allowed.
Will we go back? Probably.
Very nice rustic, comfortable atmosphere with great French inspired home cooking. I make it a point to bring my largest Generac Dealer in Canada here whenever I'm in Eastern Ontario.
I had the Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad for lunch, it was magnificent.
This place is a gem! It's built inside an old house with old bedrooms converted into private rooms. The antique wooden furniture, dim lighting, set a really cool mood.
The service was great, accommodating our large group.
As for the food, my only complaint was that the menu was long; but there's something for everybody. However, you have to try the melt-in-your-mouth prime rib, served with a Yorkshire pudding. I'll be back for that again.
Very nice hidden gem! Their garlic bread is amazing plus they serve the biggest chicken parmesan I have ever seen. Everything was hot, fresh & delicious!

sadly did not enjoy my fish & chips . Even though it came with a nice looking crisp covering & the fish was perfectly cooked there was a lot of uncooked batter under the surface which was quite unpleasant. Even the fish was hard to separate from the uncooked batter.
Atmosphere was probably nicer at other tables. My table faced the kitchen door , sad.
Ate ourselves into a coma: ish & chips, coquille, our favourite spinach & apple salads, & giant carrot cake & chocolate cake. The high point was the excellent, friendly, attentive service from our waiter Elyse.

Service un peu lent car on avait que 2 hrs on a oublié mon dessert & il faisait très très chaud dans le restaurant, aussi pas de remplissage du verre d'eau . Une chance que j'étais en bonne compagnie! Pour le prix pour une brochette de poulet & tout le reste pas sûr d'y retourne
Hands down the best restaurant around. We go to relax & unwind. In the 20+ years we have been indulging in Mon Village, we have NEVER been disappointed, ever. The staff is so accommodating & friendly. The food is always incredible & the atmosphere puts your mind & soul into a calm serenity. We absolutely love this place & it will always be our go to. I wish I could give it more stars!
