Marathon Souvlaki in the Décarie district of Montreal, specializes in fresh, tender meat souvlakis. Marathon Souvlaki has also won an award for the best souvlaki by the Gazette. There are a choice between pork, lamb, chicken or even vegetarian souvlaki. Other dishes are also available at Marathon Souvlaki.
Overall, Marathon Souvlaki comes across as a reliable, family friendly Greek spot with fresh, flavorful food, generous portions, and friendly, efficient service at a fair price. The menu staples like gyros, souvlaki, pita dishes, and the marathon salad are repeatedly praised, with many noting fast service, easy parking, and a welcoming atmosphere. Some reviews mention moments of inconsistency in quality or portion sizes over the years, louder peak hours, and occasional takeout experiences that aren’t perfect, but the restaurant remains a popular go-to for casual Greek meals.
The fried calamari plate comed marathon salad & fries, is on the menu for $26.25. If you are looking for a delicious & affordable Greek meal, Marathon Souvlaki is definitely worth considering.
Food was delicious. It was affordable, the staff handled the large number of us with a friendly & positive manner. I would definitely come again when I'm in town.
I am not Greek but if there was a background people most assume I am, it's Greek. I've never been to Greece but my love for the cuisine is enough to be incredibly flattered when people think I am from the country. Marathon Souvlaki makes some truly great food. Pictured here is a souvlaki chicken pita & my tired & true beverage - ice cold ginger ale. The pair were a match made in heaven much like the people of Greece & their impeccable culinary offerings
We have been eating at this restaurant for years. I always have the souvlaki pita plate. The souvlaki, Marathon salad, rice & fries are delicious, especially the rice. I am not normally a big rice eater, but theirs is flavored with something that really makes it taste good. The menu says, for the plates, that you have to choose between rice & fries, but you can ask for "half half", & get a bit of both. The servers are always friendly & polite. The prices are very good & very affordable. You definitely get your money's worth.
Very lively place, bit crowded too if you like it. Food was absolutely great & the quantity was more than enough for one person. Must visit once if you are in the area.
I went here on the recommendation of my relative's sister. I love lamb, but my relatives didn't like it. But the lamb here was absolutely perfect. My relative, who didn't like lamb, also enjoyed it. Now everyone loves lamb. I really recommend it. The salad was really good, & all the food was great. Baguette bread is also served as an appetizer, but I have to tell the server. Remember this. Both the food & the service were perfect.
I'm actually apologize. I was too hungry to take a photo, but it was soooo good. The ingredients are fresh & the recipes are both classic & delicious. If you are already a fan of Greek food then you'll love it. If you want to explore Greek food, you'll still love it.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat after work with a coworker. Server was rude, she kept coming back to the table & addressing me in French even after I corrected several times. She learned English fast enough as the end of the meal when she got no tip & was rude & condescending towards me about it. I've always been please with food & service at this location before in the past & I'm not sure I will return. Very disappointed. Next time I'll go to Baton Rouge next door.
Chicken brochette is really juicy & tasty. Big portion of salad with a generous piece of feta cheese. Highly recommended to have a great family meal with pretty fair cost value rate.
This place is so gooda dn the price is very reasonable. The food is delicious & it's portion is huge. The service is great but it does get crowded & many people are waiting during sat night at 6:45pm.
We love this restaurant & always go eat there when we are in Montreal area. Whether it's grabbing a supper, inviting friends to eat, or celebrating a birthday, any occasion is worth dining at Marathon Souvlaki. The food is great & the staff are friendly.
