Marathon Decarie is our family's go-to restaurant for delicious Greek food that is fast & well priced. The gyros & & souvlaki are fantastic. The staff are excellent. On our last visit I forgot my wallet, & when I called, the manager, he went to look, found it & kept it for me until I returned Amazing & very much appreciated!
Always fresh Greek taverna style food. Wonderful staff with attentative & pompt service. Enjoyed the chicken souvlaki pita player & large gyro platter with my spouse. The honey balls with nuts - a true dessert delight to finish the night. Its busy which is good but can get loud during peak hours. Free parking & easy access off of Decarie Express Way.

I popped in looking for a decent quality gyro at a fair price. I paid $14 for a chicken pita gyro with fries & a drink. The freshness, taste & obvious attention to quality is superb. This is probably the best lunch deal anywhere in Montreal. Add free parking & the fact that it's close to Walmart, Addison Electronics & other stores & it's about as great a deal as I've come across in Montreal.
I had the chicken gyro plate which was huge & delicious, filled up on apps which is easy to do because they're equally yummy & reasonably priced while being large in serving size.

Marathon's has been around for a very long time. Deservedly so, as they have kept they food quality & great taste along with generous portions. My personal favorite is their loose meat pork gyro plate, with half & half fries & crispy golden potatoes. It comes with delicious rice & their marathon salad topped with their famous dressing. Mix the salad with some of the meat for a delicious treat. The service is friendly & I'm surprised every time how fast their dishes come out. Marathon's is true staple of Greek food in Montreal. You can't go wrong.
Wow the quality of this restaurant went downhill, quantities of food are bad for the price, at least for takeout. The receptionist misunderstood dressing on the side with'give me an extra dressing & charge me 3$ for it'
50 bucks for a gyro pita + a chicken plate with 2 chicken sticks + marathon salad. If my wife had seen the quantity of food & the poor quality of what they called a salad, she would have never gave a 5$ tip for takeout.
I do not recommend , at least for takeout. Go buy yourself some greek food litterally anywhere else & you will be more satisfied. Felt like we were just scammed 20$ for the amount of food.
We came in with only 30 minutes left & the waiters were very considerate & efficient, we got to order & receive our meals quickly.
The portions are generous & the prices are reasonable for what you get. The souvlaki pork gyro was incredible, the meat was juicy & full of taste. I noticed that you could also order food to go at the counter, there were many different sizes of containers to choose from. Definitely a nice place to go to if you're nearby.

They really know their way to make beautiful deep fried foods! The calamari & dollar fries are both amazing. Their pork souvlaki & gyro pork are also pretty great. If anything, the tzatziki & salad were too salty to the level that for sure will spike your blood pressure. Oh the portion is great!
Clean establishment with a variety of choices for any appetite. Ordered chicken gyros small & large sizes within our party, enough for leftovers for later. Nice service & prices were reasonable. Wish the Greek salad had a better balance of cucumbers instead of a high percentage of tomatoes. Seemed odd to us for a Greek salad, it was more of a tomato salad. This is a return visit, dined here a couple of years ago.
My new favourite Greek restaurant in MTL!! Portions are generous, & service was friendly, professional, & fast. Alex was fantastic! Tried the following: - calamari - big pieces :) You can taste some eggs from the batter, but overall it was tasty, & the seafood sauce wasn't overpowering - gyro - shaved pork pieces were juicy & flavourful - chicken skewer- juicy & tasty The rice was delicious, the salad was crisp & the dressing was tasty, & the fries were crispy & moist on the inside. I love the fact that as a side dish you have the option of getting all 3 items (fries, rice, & salad). So you can try all 3 without paying extra charge. The only reason they didn't get the 5th star was because they didn't have the fillet mignon available, & that's what we really wanted to eat. Also the platter doesn't come with Tzatziki sauce. Other than that it's an amazing place with reasonable prices. Definitely will come back.
It's a staple spot for Greek food. They make my favourite pork gyro by a landslide. Not very expensive, pretty abundant plates, & all you would expect as standard offerings from any respectable Greek restaurant. Calamari is soft too. My only complaint is they continue the practise of hqving cuatomers pqck their own leftovers. It's not a unique thing to this resto, others do it too. I just don't agree with this school of thought. Besides that, excellent.
Il y a des restaurants grecques...& il y a Marathon Souvlaki. Considéré comme le restaurant offrant le meilleur Souvlaki à Montréal par plusieurs gastronomes (dont nous!) , soit en gyro qu'en brochette, tout y est exquis dans une ambiance chaleureuse & familiale. Ma famille & moi y allons depuis plus de 20 ans & honnêtement, jamais avons-nous été déçus. Cette succursale, comme celle de Dollard-des-Ormeaux ou de Laval, est excellente. & celle-ci, à Montréal, possède un service & une cuisine tout aussi exceptionnelle. Nous avons réservé pour un groupe de plus de 25 personnes & nous n'avons jamais été mieux traités ailleurs: service chaleureux, attentif & empressé & une nourriture fraîche, goûteuse & merveilleusement présentée dans des portions généreuses. Bref, seul, en couple ou en famille, votre visite à cet établissement sera un succès! Merci beaucoup à l'équipe du restaurant pour un service 5 étoiles & des convives (dont la fêtée) ravis & rassasiés par des repas (& un excellent café) divins! Si possible, je donnerais une note de 6 étoiles sur 5! Bravo!
