Let me share a little secret that most West Islanders know, but many others on the island haven't discovered: Resto Vieux Four Manago, an Italian restaurant on St. Charles in Kirkland, is our hidden gem. When my kids were younger, we used to bring them there for the kids' meal of pasta. For a while, it became our family's go-to spot. You know how kids are-picky eaters with ever-changing tastes-& eventually, they grew tired of pasta. But during that time, my wife & I stuck to one thing we loved: the'frutti di mare' pizza. As the name suggests, it's a seafood-inspired pizza, topped with shrimp, scallops, crab, & a rich seasoned tomato sauce to bring it all together.

Though the restaurant was a favorite, life & changing preferences led us away from it for several years. But Vieux Four Manago has always remained a family-driven place, with a welcoming ambiance, soft background music, & a bar area where you can catch a game if you're into sports. It's the kind of place that's perfect for celebrating life's milestones, from birthdays to anniversaries, or any event where you want to be surrounded by loved ones. The restaurant's heart has always been its family atmosphere, & the staff make you feel right at home, like part of their own family.

Now that our kids are much older, they still haven't developed the same love for pasta, but recently, my wife & I decided to take a nostalgic trip back to Vieux Four Manago & order our old favorite, the'frutti di mare' pizza. It felt like we were stepping back in time-the wood-fired brick oven was still there, tirelessly producing pizzas for both dine-in patrons & takeout orders. When our pizza finally arrived, it was just as we remembered it. The toppings were perfectly browned, exactly how I've always liked them, & the crust was golden, light, & deliciously crispy. We added a drizzle of chili oil with just the right amount of heat, giving each bite a subtle extra kick. As soon as I took that first bite, a flood of memories came rushing back. It tasted every bit as wonderful as it did in the past, reminding us of all the good times we'd shared at this spot.

It's not too loud, allowing you to relax & let the background fade away. My wife & I had a wonderful evening there. With delicious food in my belly & mature love in the air, it was the perfect recipe for a satisfying end to the night. The digital candlelight setup created an intimate & romantic setting, with the soft glow of the virtual candles adding a warm touch to the experience. Light, soothing music played gently in the background, enhancing the mood without overwhelming the conversation.

I love this place! It's a classic & such a family-oriented restaurant. I always come here when I'm craving Italian comfort food. My favorite is the chicken parm! The interior is super cute, & the patio in the summer is amazing.

I usually make a reservation since it can get pretty full. The only downside is that service can be inconsistent. I've had amazing experiences with kind & attentive staff, but on my last visit, the server was quite rude & seemed uninterested. She didn't even ask if we wanted bread, & her attitude honestly made me feel unwelcome. Meanwhile, tables around us were getting great service, so maybe it just wasn't her day, but it did leave a sour taste.

Overall, I still love this restaurant & will definitely be back, though maybe I'll stick to takeout next time.

Another great evening! The food, the service & atmosphere are always perfect. You get great quality for a good price. Definitely recommend to all, whether you are going with family, friends or date night.

First time dining at Manago. Took the family for a celebratory lunch. Service was excellent & the food was very good! Great balance in quality & quantity. Cocktails were on point!

The service & atmosphere were great! My only problem was with the Spaghetti Primavera. The sauce was kind of bland & just sat at the bottom of the plate. I come here often with family & everyone really enjoys their food otherwise!

Great local restaurant to meet up with friends, family or coworkers. Friendly & efficient service with a warm & inviting attitude. Fresh dishes served piping hot. Will definitely return. Keep in mind as this restaurant is part of a shopping complex; parking can be tight at times.

Unfortunately we were rushed, from ordering our drinks to our food & to pay, to top it all we were asked at 7:15 if we could hurry it up or move to the bar...I believe we have a 2 hour reservation. ( I could be wrong? )We were there at 5:30. My family & I have been customers for years. First time this has happened ! We are questioning if we should return?

One of my favorite restaurants.I love it's versatility.Great for family & also great for date night.Everything is good.Roberto built this business & I believe has at least one other he did a great job.

I went a couple of times to this restaurant because it’s local & the food is good however, the last few times I have been I’ve noticed that the bartenders & hostesses are dressed as if they are going to the club not serving at a supposedly family restaurant. I thought this restaurant was classy but seeing how they dress I am not quite sure what’s going on. That being said, I felt uncomfortable going with my family & I am sure I was not the only one feeling this way. If that is the attire which is supported by management I am fine with that however, they will need to evaluate whether this restaurant is family friendly or not.

It's over 15 years i go to this restaurant with friends & family every time I go there it gets better & better I really enjoy the food the service & the ambiance every time I go there I try something different & it's always good

Lovely spot & food did not disappoint. Service was a little slow; however, due I would think to affect of Covid in staffing.
I live in Toronto & had booked the restaurant for a family celebration to honour my mother's birthday when she will be 100 in June. Since I was visiting last week it was an opportunity to look into the facility. Staff was friendly & very helpful. Made us feel at home. Looking forward to returning with my family next month.
