The decorations are beautiful, & the interior design is warm & inviting. The breads & confectionery are always fresh, carefully made, & full of flavor. The creative coffee machine adds a special touch to the experience. The attendant is friendly & welcoming, making each visit pleasant. A unique bakery that stands out & is well worth a stop.
I ordered the bread pudding pastry & the chocolate croissant. Both were very tasty! I would definitely make another visit & try out other options.
Lovely bakery, I only bought Croissant & bread, but delicious.
Unique pastries, custards & baked goods are a hallmark of this restaurant! The self-serve concept could definitely feel a bit impersonal, however the staff are very friendly & always happy to help with your order. You can warm up your breads on-site as well - the breads are baked fresh. The espresso drinks aren't bad either. Worth stopping by to try if you're in the area!
The Bread is always great, this is not the problem. It is not the same place since the renovation. No panache, no atmosphere, cramped tables with products being sold on them as you drink your coffee, plus my bread wasn't sliced properly & was all broken. The love is gone!
This is the closest boulangerie to my home. The baguettes are always great & the service very friendly. I'm not a fan of the newly renovated store. It's all shiny & new but for me it's lost it's character & charm. I liked that it was a traditional boulangerie before. Now it's a modern brightly lit self service store. There is no cashier so you have to find a wandering employee to input the transaction into their phone to pay. Then they have the audacity to have the POS programmed to request a tip? I think it would be better to either have a central cashier or else have an actual self service check out . I also notice that the prices have gone up & its now $4 for a basic baguette. I notice that the store's response to the negative reviews seems to be that we are "confused" or not open to changes & that we were impatient before waiting to be served. The reason for the negative reviews is the fact that they don't seem to appreciate what was so special about the place before. Buying a baguette there was not just about the quality of the bread but about the whole experience. It was a traditional charming place with personal service. It was always quite expensive compared to other places but I still shopped there because of the ambiance & service. Now that the ambiance has gone there's no compelling reason for me to shop there & pay more than I would at other places in the vicinity
I used to love going to this place because of its traditional bakery vibe, service & fresh goods. In the new design it offers less plastic free options & more unhygienic practices (serve yourself) & who needs less human interaction & more apps What I used to go for though: THE BEST GLUTEN-SENSITIVE BUCKWHEAT SOURDOUGH BREAD in Montreal - is no longer available! This (sarrasin) Mamiche d'Antan' is the most digestible bread for those sensitive to gluten - that actually acts & tastes like wheat bread (& I have tried many). But it seems the options are reduced, the goods appear less fresh - more refrigerated (maybe because of the set up). It is fancy looking yes but less warm & full of good smells (what you want with a bakery). I would not recommend this outlet to others now. Sorry but I don't think any amount of reviews will undo the money already spent in this direction:-( wish you had consulted your clients in your makeover!
Went into the newly renovated store & it was an amazing experience. Store is super modern, filled with helpful smiling employees, & lovely delicious pastries. Had the best cinnamon roll of my life & some gorgeous milk bread. The experience was smooth & prices are great for the amazing quality. Young female employee with brown hair was exceptionally helpful & kind. Will definitely revisit & encourage all to do the same so they can try delectable baked goods in an exceptional atmosphere. Bakery of the FUTURE!!!
The ambiance, design & architecture of this place is top. Really clean, sleek, & modern. They have plenty of bread & dessert options & some frozen also. The chocolatine I ordered from here was so deliciously buttery!
Disappointed in the changes. I think the renovations are well done but the concept is not great. It doesn't have the authentic bakery feel that it used to have. Why change something that wasn't broken? The pastry & bread products are the same & are still delicious at least. However, the coffee bar is a terrible idea. You press a button & your coffee comes out of a tap. It does not taste as good as it used to. Why am I paying this much for lower quality? There's only one size available & it doesn't even fill up the cup. You cannot replace a good espresso machine & barista with an automatic coffee machine. Also, what happened to the nice sitting area? It just feels like they don't want you to stay long. Suggestions: Perhaps have a couple check out stations as an option. This will allow customers to browse around & still interact with staff - similarly to a small grocery store. Replace the automatic coffee machine with a coffee bar, where a barista is working & making fresh coffee using a real espresso machine.
The best pain au chocolat that I've tasted so far. The staff are helpful & accommodating. The breads look so yummy & enticing. We'll be back for sure.
My favourite bakery, great variety of bread & pastries. Closing in two weeks for major overhaul.
I wish you'd make the garlic bread again, & walnut bread during the week. Loved the olive bread. I enjoyed trying your individual charlotte aux fraises but it was not made with the biscuits a la cuillere as it should be, l guess it's not easy to find. They make a mean individual moelleux au chocolat.
Lots of verity & a busy place!
The croissants are ok, nothing extra ordinary. Didn't buy any bread, so no comments.
