Les prix ont augmentés & en plus il faut se servir par soi-même. Après l'avoir essayé quelques fois, je vais prioriser les endroits avec un service humain dorénavant.
The new decor is pretty! They changed the concept into a self serve store. Customers take whatever they want & pay at the cash register.
The staff was friendly & the pastries are good. Our visit was disappointing because we were expecting tables & space to eat indoors. There are several boxed sandwiches & desserts too but we were expecting a fresher feel all around.
If you're looking for a unique coffee experience, Mamie Clafoutis is an absolute gem! Their coffee maker is a work of art, brewing the perfect cup every time, rich in flavor & incredibly smooth. The vibe of the shop itself is warm & inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends.
Now, let's talk about the Oh Mon Dieu pastry. WOW. It's a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth treat that's unlike anything I've had before. The layers, the sweetness, the texture - it's all perfection in one bite. This pastry alone is worth the visit!
Mesmerizing bakery 🤩
Amazing sourdough, very fine pastries & good food/produce.
Excellent service & beautiful ambiance
Jai eu la chance de visiter le local aprés renovation
Nouveau concept de self service
Qualité des produits reste la meme au top
Since the rénovation it has become not interesting or nice at all. Will never go again.
This is the closest boulangerie to my home. The baguettes are always great & the service very friendly. I'm not a fan of the newly renovated store. It's all shiny & new but for me it's lost it's character & charm. I liked that it was a traditional boulangerie before. Now it's a modern brightly lit self service store. There is no cashier so you have to find a wandering employee to input the transaction into their phone to pay. Then they have the audacity to have the POS programmed to request a tip? I think it would be better to either have a central cashier or else have an actual self service check out . I also notice that the prices have gone up & its now $4 for a basic baguette. I notice that the store's response to the negative reviews seems to be that we are "confused" or not open to changes & that we were impatient before waiting to be served. The reason for the negative reviews is the fact that they don't seem to appreciate what was so special about the place before. Buying a baguette there was not just about the quality of the bread but about the whole experience. It was a traditional charming place with personal service. It was always quite expensive compared to other places but I still shopped there because of the ambiance & service. Now that the ambiance has gone there's no compelling reason for me to shop there & pay more than I would at other places in the vicinity
i can't stomach giving this bakery less than 2 stars, because it once held a special place in my heart. I was so excited to see what the renovation would be, especially after seeing the concept art of tables & chairs & a cafe-esque setup, i thought that FIANLLY there would be a good bakery to sit at & read & have a couple pastries at in the neighborhood (seriously, you were the best pastries around!) & after so many months i have been absolutely gutted by just how soulless my favourite bakery now is. looking over the reviews, i don't have much to add to what several others have said. the sanitized & ultramodern look are a complete turn off from the vibrant place it was, & even the interesting ideas in the concept art. what happened? i used to come here to grab a coffee before work. sometimes, there was a line & i got anxious thinking my order of one coffee wouldn't be quick enough because of the line. i understand part of the design has been to allow people in my situation to speed through. well, i can say confidently i would give anything to wait in that line again. this empty & depressing place (i'm sorry, the decor is cute but it is a far cry from the homey-ness of the old place) is not worth the streamlining. i understand from the other replies that the business needed a redesign. & i was on board! i was looking forward to it. but this... this was plain murder. i have no interest in trying to pay with my phone. i don't want to use what looks like the same machine as they have in a 7/11 to make coffee. hell, just having a couple carafes of drip would be better than a glorified kurig. the single employee who was there kind of awkwardly staring at me screamed volumes that no one quite knows what the flow is supposed to be here. no shame to him, if i were in his shoes i would avoid contact with customers too! rather, the design of this place being self-serve means employees will feel it is a hassle to help people. because customer service is always a hassle (i work in the field), but normally it is necessary & the ice is easily broken. not here. it's cold, there's no seating, & honestly, i want to cry because of the beautiful bakery my neighborhood has lost. i'm sorry you felt that this was necessary. i don't know your business. i can only hope that other bakeries do not follow on in your footsteps. this... sucks. :(
This is my first time visiting the bakery & it was an amazing experience. I walked in & felt like I was in a hallmark movie. The music was great, layout was perfect & the food is delicious. Our moods immediately got better after being in there. My friends & I talked about it how amazing it was our entire walk home. I will absolutely visit it again & recommend it to everyone who comes to Montréal!
