MMama Khan is bringing the taste of Khyber Pakhtun Khwa to a plate near you. Originally born and raised in a small village in the mountainous regions of Peshawar where she honed her cooking skills.
Let your taste buds be enticed by authenticPeshawari cooking, you will be taken on a culinary journey with flavor's that will leave you coming back for more. Mama emphasizes that in order to taste good food you need the perfect service; and her staff isn't short of making you feel at home.
Diners describe Mama Khan as an authentically halal Pakistani spot with rich Peshawari flavors and generous portions, where dishes such as butter chicken, chicken karahi, lamb karahi, chapli kebab, biryani, haleem, chana samosa and large garlic naan showcase home style preparation. The service is noted as friendly and attentive, with staff able to explain dishes, tailor spice levels and create a warm family like atmosphere supported by multilingual staff and a calm background soundtrack. Community involvement is a common theme, with praise for giving back through free meals to those in need and for supporting local causes, adding meaning to the meal. Some reviews mention that dine in experiences are consistently flavorful while delivery can be unreliable with issues like undercooked meat or missing items, so ordering for delivery may require caution. Overall the food is described as flavorful and generously portioned, with standout kebabs and breads and service described as exceptional, making Mama Khan a standout choice for authentic Pakistani cuisine in the area.
One of the most terrible & humiliating dining experience we ever had. I dined in with my wife & had already ordered Chapli kebab over the phone while I was sorting out parking. When we arrived, we confirmed the order again. When we were asked about naans, I clearly refused in the first place & stated that we had brought my own.
After the food was served & the owner noticed the naans & immediately became aggressive, saying:'Why did you bring your own naans?' He then kept arguing & pressuring us to order naan despite knowing the fact we brought in our own naans everytime. We told clearly that we did not want any & that we already had enough.
Mind you, we do not like your naans because you lack expertise in making them (check the comments by Heena M & Abdul Qadir in particular stating the same & many more).
The most unacceptable part was despite the food already being served, we were aggressively told to'pick up your food & you can leave'. Who has given you this right to treat customers this way, especially regular customers? We travel twice a week from a nearby city to visit Mama Khan & have been recurring visitors, yet this is the disrespect we received. The owner chose hostility & we ended up eating cold food outside in -12°C because of this humiliating behavior.
Shame on you.
Absolutely delicious food! We ordered Chicken Karahi, Chapli Kebab, roti, paratha, & gol gappay , everything was bursting with authentic flavors & tasted just like homemade. The Chicken Karahi was rich & perfectly spiced, the Chapli Kebabs were juicy & flavorful, & the fresh rotis & parathas complemented the meal beautifully. The gol gappay were crisp & refreshing, adding the perfect touch to the experience. Overall, it felt like enjoying a hearty, home-cooked meal ,we'll definitely be coming back!
Well tiktok really hyped it. Terrible seating. Idk looks like somebody's apartment, biryani was tasteless. I had high hopes but. Alas! Pani puri was ok, chapli kebab was ok, idk everything seemed tasteless. 🙂
Finding true Pakistani taste is difficult when you are touring in a foreign city but we were lucky to find Mama Khan. The food was tasty & service was a-one. We ordered pishawari karhai, chicken biryani & Chaplin kebab. All were good. Parking is difficult to find though. There is a paid parking about 10 mins away.
Would 100% go again & again ! The food is amazing, good quality & good price for what it is. I ate chapli kebab, garlic naan, beans & a mango lassi. (Maybe the mango lassi was a tad too small for the price of 7$)
This restaurant is great for two, & probably only for 2 or above. It seems like the dishes were made to be shared for the most part, as the servings are really big & you have to buy the rice separately & anything else for that matter. Nothing comes in a bundle.
The service was amazing, the waiter was really nice, explained the dishes & concept really well. He gave us a good introduction to the meal served & good suggestions.

Nice find in MTL while traveling with family. Ordered Butt karahis (chicken was better than lamb) which were very similar to those found in Mississauga ie passed our Karahi bar :). Also had their Chapli Kababs which were really good! All that goes with nice naans. Def a must recommend
I was visiting Montreal from New York & saw this spot while walking around, & I'm happy I walked in. Authentic, delicious & an amazing overall experience at Mama Khan. Very friendly staff, they answered all the questions I had for them & they definitely made the food with love! My taste buds were dancing during the whole time I was in Canada. Chapli kebabs were my favorite! This place is a must have if you are in the area! Make sure to stop by!
One of the best spots in montreal. I had an appetizing lunch with my family. Having their amazing chicken Karahi so flavourful & delicious also their kebab chapli was well made adding amazing texture & topping along side with their Naan which was HUGE. I wish i can say more but im having hardtime writing of how full I got coming out of Mama Khan. Amazing!

I was looking for halal places in google & Mama Khan came up. I wish I went here earlier. They were about to close but still accommodated us & showed us such love & care. Abdur & Tanvir both took great care of us & the food was a cherry on top. Very delicious & authentic Peshawari! The decor in the restaurant gave a very traditional, at-home feel. Try the chapli kebab & lamb for sure! They also give food to homeless people almost every day. Highly highly recommended!
I got iftar deal it was amazing. Chapli kebab chicken etc amazing really good deal for 2 person for iftar. a1 5 out of 5. I have tried them before also the food was really good keep the good work guys thanks
Updating based on restaurants response*: *The chapli kebab's were to be honest not bad, what I meant was that we have had better ones in Mississauga as well as in Calgary, that resonated more with the authentic chapli style but that said your chapli kababs were good. The Bryani I still do not know, my wife is from Sindh & I have spent reasonable portion of my life in Sindh, including Hyderabad, Karachi & interior Sindh parts, but have never come across a tandoori bryani of this type. I strongly feel it should be called rice with BBQ'd chicken but I will respect what you have in there"*. The service & professionalism were outstanding. We ordered the tandoori biryani, chapli kebab, & Peshawari lamb karahi. The karahi was absolutely incredible, hands down, one of the best I've ever had. However, the biryani was disappointing. It felt more like blended rice with BBQ'd chicken than anything resembling traditional tandoori biryani. This dish would be better off renamed, as it doesn't resemble the true tandoori biryani you'd expect, whether in KPK or anywhere else. The chapli kababs were decent but nothing special. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly & made the experience more enjoyable.
Just arrived in Canada two months ago & was craving authentic Pakistani cuisine. Mama Khan just hit the spot. Their food is so good & tastes exactly like back home. The peshawari karahi & chapli kebab were amazing. Will be definitely going back soon!!
We went out for dinner & had Chapli kebab & chicken karahi . I highly recommend this restaurant-the food was delicious, & the owner was very kind as we were leaving. We'll definitely be back again!
-- This Pakistani restaurant is an absolute gem, especially for chapli kebab lovers. Their kababs are perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a balanced mix of spices that delight the taste buds. The atmosphere is warm & authentic, & the service is attentive. Whether for a weeknight dinner or a casual outing with friends, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic & delicious dishes. Highly recommended, especially for their incredible chapli kebab!
