Stopped by for lunch & was pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, flavorful, & arrived quickly. I ordered the pakora, chicken Peshawari karahi with naan, & the tandoori biryani. Everything was delicious & full of authentic flavor. The portions were generous for the price, & the staff were friendly & attentive without being over the top. If you're looking for tasty Pakistani food, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Updating the review for more context, & to respond to the owner's sarcastic comment. Yes, we were upset that the waiter told us right after serving the food that you were closing in 15 mins, not 20 mins, & the entire experience was terrible. The Tikka Chicken was the most tasteless I've ever had, the place in general was not clean, the service was terrible & what eventually made the drop from 3 stars to 1 star is the butter chicken that we eventually took home to eat was soggy, the chicken quality was extremely & visibly low with dark spots all over. So, to summarize, it was easily one of the worst dining experiences we'ever had anywhere in the world.

Mama Khan, Montreal - A Memorable Taste of Authentic Pakistani Food
We visited Mama Khan in Montreal in 2023
& had an enjoyable experience, particularly because of the Chapli Kababs & lamb Karahi.
The Chapli Kababs were the highlight of our meal. We were told they were prepared using the owner's mother's recipe, & the homemade touch was clearly reflected in the taste. They were incredibly juicy, tender & packed with flavour, with a wonderful balance of spices. It had been a long time since we had eaten Chapli Kababs this good. They tasted authentic & were cooked perfectly without being dry or overly greasy. 4/5
The Lamb Karahi was also excellent. It was rich, aromatic & very flavourful, with tender, soft pieces of lamb. The spices & masala complemented the meat nicely, making it a comforting & satisfying dish. It paired really well with naan & was definitely worth ordering. 4/5
The Chicken Biryani was decent, but compared with the Chapli Kababs & Karahi, it did not stand out as much. It was okay in terms of flavour & portion, but it could have benefited from a stronger aroma & more depth in the masala. 3/5
The ambience was fairly simple & just okay, so the restaurant is more about enjoying the food than having a premium dining experience. Parking can also be difficult to find in the surrounding area, so it is better to allow some extra time.
Overall, Mama Khan offered us a satisfying Pakistani meal, with the juicy Chapli Kababs being the clear winner. I would definitely recommend visiting for the Chapli Kababs & Karahi, especially for anyone looking for authentic, homemade-style flavours in Montreal.
Very disappointing food for a 4.6 rated restaurant.
Ordered the saag paneer, chana & a shredded chicken curry. Would only touch the chana again. Hard to find any chicken & the dish developed a skin.
Restaurant was empty with overly loud music to mask the kitchen noise.
Service was poor, not much engagement from our waiter.
Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but from what we got I wouldn't want to try any others. Waste of a meal when other options available across Montreal.
What a shame.
