Mama Khan, Montreal - A Memorable Taste of Authentic Pakistani Food
We visited Mama Khan in Montreal in 2023
& had an enjoyable experience, particularly because of the Chapli Kababs & lamb Karahi.
The Chapli Kababs were the highlight of our meal. We were told they were prepared using the owner's mother's recipe, & the homemade touch was clearly reflected in the taste. They were incredibly juicy, tender & packed with flavour, with a wonderful balance of spices. It had been a long time since we had eaten Chapli Kababs this good. They tasted authentic & were cooked perfectly without being dry or overly greasy. 4/5
The Lamb Karahi was also excellent. It was rich, aromatic & very flavourful, with tender, soft pieces of lamb. The spices & masala complemented the meat nicely, making it a comforting & satisfying dish. It paired really well with naan & was definitely worth ordering. 4/5
The Chicken Biryani was decent, but compared with the Chapli Kababs & Karahi, it did not stand out as much. It was okay in terms of flavour & portion, but it could have benefited from a stronger aroma & more depth in the masala. 3/5
The ambience was fairly simple & just okay, so the restaurant is more about enjoying the food than having a premium dining experience. Parking can also be difficult to find in the surrounding area, so it is better to allow some extra time.
Overall, Mama Khan offered us a satisfying Pakistani meal, with the juicy Chapli Kababs being the clear winner. I would definitely recommend visiting for the Chapli Kababs & Karahi, especially for anyone looking for authentic, homemade-style flavours in Montreal.
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years & unfortunately, I have watched the service decline. At least two times that I have gone on hot summer days, they have no soft drinks available. When I notified the server that this is the second time that I've come & this has happened, he was defensive & rude about it. I was shocked how abrasive he became rather apologizing for the inconvenience. I thought about calling the owner but if he's hiring belligerent staff, then how different can he be. I will likely not recommend Mama Khan again since clearly there is a steep decline in service & respect for the customer.

Food not good.kebab meet was not fresh..
Price very high.
I went 1st time & last time there never ever go there again.
Highly recommend don't go there you will regret if you go.
Very good food. The naan's are their highlight. Tandoori chicken is well prepared too. Although the butter chicken was slightly too sweet. Overall a great restaurant. Would recommend again!
We were visiting Montreal & searching for halal food & based on Google reviews we ordered food from them. The serving size was too small, although it mentioned 2 person serving on the website but it wasn't even enough for 1. Tandoori chicken was so burnt that it was black in color. Same was with chicken kababs. Karahi was tasteless not even close to Pakistani food. Also, on the website free soup was offered & I added it to my order but I didn't receive it. I won't recommend this restaurant.
Disappointing delivery experience, though dine-in may be better.
The food quality is acceptable when dining in, but I strongly recommend avoiding delivery orders from this restaurant. After two separate attempts with UberEats, I encountered significant issues both times: the first order arrived with undercooked meat, & no napkins/utensils even though I had requested them, & the second was incomplete with missing items. Based on these experiences, this establishment doesn't appear to have reliable delivery operations.
