I struggle to understand charging an espresso $7. My wife liked her chocolate cake. Glass of wine was pricey as well but I can tolerate that more than the price of the coffee.

February 27/25 = We were a group of 18 people who reserved for 12:30 pm & were very much looking forward to trying this new establishment. Creperies are somewhat difficult to come by in the suburbs. Regretfully, the chef was 45 minutes late & they seemed short staffed as making crepes to order on one grill for 18 people was quite time consuming. My mother's crepe had cheese that wasn't completely melted & the crepes could have done with a little more browning. The menu was limited as not everything that appeared on the menu was available. The dessert crepes were delicious though! Coffee was good, although the Blue Mountain Haitian has a somewhat lighter taste. The chocolatier, Mr. Ralph Leroy, did give an somewhat rushed explanation of his products. Would have liked to try his chocolate truffles but none were available; not even to purchase.
The atmosphere was nice & the background music just loud enough to enjoy our lively discussions. Regretfully, the washrooms could be cleaner with enough tissue paper for both stalls. Regretfully, feel that Makaya Chocolat & Bistro were not prepared for a group of 18 even though we had reservations. It's too bad as was planning on having my wedding anniversary there next month but the experience was lacking.
Came in from frosty cold romantic walk along the scenic frozen landscape of the majestic Lachine with my beautiful partner. & since we were parked outside Makaya we decided to go inside & indulge in some hot chocolate. The ambience, service, decor, & chocolate beverages were spectacular. 😋 highly recommend!!!
Chef Ralph delivers a wonderful dining experience. The food is excellent, the hot chocolate is sublime, the service is attentive & excellent & the ambiance comfortable & intuitive. What else could anyone ever want?
Makaya Chocolat Bistro is a must go to spot along the lakeshore!
We took the Parisien hot chocolate, it was the true definition of the hot chocolate (not chocolate milk), served by the chef himself,it was a gem discovery. Thanks again & see you shortly.
I have only had hot chocolate & crepe in this place. Hot chocolate hands on the best I have ever had. The consistency that I like.
The brie & salted caramel crepe is amazing.
The service was slow in a few times that I have been there. It makes sense for the hot chocolate because they make it from scratch. They will let you onow beforehand. But again they seem to be short staffed & except for the owner the rest of the staff do not seem to have proper training in the industry.
The restrooms are kind of worn down. Despite being decently clean.

I had the pleasure of dining at THIS Haitian Bistro, & it was truly an unforgettable experience. The spices in the dishes warmed the soul, & the chef was just as warm & accommodating, making us feel right at home. We started with the bread soup, which was an explosion of flavor-rich, comforting, & full of depth. It was more than just a dish; it was an experience. Even the PURE chocolate dessert exceeded expectations, adding a perfect touch to our meal. The vibe inside was absolutely ideal for a date, with a cozy & welcoming atmosphere that made the evening feel even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy flavors in a charming setting!
What a charming spot that is a mix of a speakeasy & a salon. The chocolate is excellent, & is as sweet as the owner's Ralph attitude.
It's on the expensive side but the chocolate is imported & frankly tastes great. This is not the overly sweet milk chocolate found in grocery stores, for me it justifies the price.
We had a great time. I recommend the crepe with dulce de leche.
Nice, cosy, almost intimate atmosphere. The kind of place where you go when you feel like listening to good music while you chill or have some work to do. Or when you want do take your love out for a nice, romantic little something.
The hot chocolate is actual hot chocolate - old style. You don't find that in many places. The chocolate crepe was delicious. & they also have several kinds of chocolate truffles. Don't go there if you're a diabetic, you won't be able to resist temptation! ;)

Stopped in to pick up an order for my very pregnant sister & honestly I'd go out of my way to come back here. It looked cozy & romantic, smelled delicious & everyone was SO genuinely friendly. My sister loved her food & if it wasn't so late in the evening, I would have had a coffee with the chocolate crepe because it all smelled & looked so amazing. They even went out of their way to hold the door for me on the way out. Just super lovely people making super delicious food in a super beautiful little spot!
Its a cute spot to have some chocolate desserts & its just opposite to water so you can have a great view. But I did not like the cappuccino & it was 9 dollars excluded taxes. Also I ordered take away but they dont have proper disposable glasses. They should have mentioned that before taking the order. Not worth it to spend this much for that kind of coffee.
I just had a spicy hot chocolate & it is, by far, the best hot chocolate I have ever had in my life. Everyone should try this at least once in their life! Perfect for a cold Canadian day.

What a special place! Cozy from the moment you walk in. Exceptional service from EVERYONE! I had hot chocolate (the real deal! Not just a piece of chocolate melting in milk)… Chocolate with rosemary, a peculiar combination that tastes delicious!!! The main courses: they left me speechless. Such elegance & robustness in every dish. Very nice music ----------------------- Quel endroit spécial !
A gem of a cozy café bistro - comfy couch, cute book corner, a small fireplace...& chocolate! Tchaka soup was warm & delicious. The crèpe au chocolat was divine. I'll be back to try other items on the menu. Merci!
The hot chocolate is exceptional & there are excellent vegan options. Ralph, the owner, is very kind & generously remade one drink that, while lovely, was not 100% to our taste. The decor is beautiful & the space is very comfortable. I would highly recommend this gem for the delicious chocolate & the extremely welcoming & kind service. A definite favorite for every trip to Montreal!
Such a cute spot with great food & desserts. We had the Maïs a la Bonne Femme, hot chocolate (try the spicy one but it is actually spicy!), the dulce de leche crepe & a salted caramel truffle. Everything was delicious & the staff was so friendly when we came in just before closing. Would recommend stopping by!
Beautiful little bistro with limited but flavorful dishes ( great Haitian potage). Nice selection of french crepes & of course chocolate desserts( didn't try). Delicious pisco sour! Lovely attentive service & wonderful, cozy decor looking out to lake. Will definitely return! Should add daily menu & offer a salad option or two.
