This restaurant does have a very nice decor to it, but the food was overpriced. Rice & chicken for 40$, I know safran is expensive & its hard to make proper tahchin, but I still felt like it was a high price. Sadly I also did not enjoy my dish & my plate was dirty. The service was okay.
A bigger concern was after reading all your reviews, how I felt about visiting. Your answers to negative reviews are extremely unprofessional, which made me not want to visit this place but did so for my friends. People are allowed to express their concerns & dislikes, especially the water situation, as a huge Montreal foodie, I have never witnessed any restaurants put water on the table without the customer asking or without them being notified it is an extra charge. You need to listen to your customers, even if you don't agree, & this will lead you to having a successful business. I am giving you two stars due to this, the food & service is not the only thing you should be worrying about.
Be sure to put Maison Inja on your to do list if you are visiting your student at McGill. It is a short walk from campus & very yummy! The service was so attentive & kind (but not overly so). The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We arrived around 5:30 without a reservation & we were seated right away. The restaurant was filling up by the time we left (7:30ish).

I had an amazing experience at this Persian restaurant. truly one of the best I've had in Montreal! The food was absolutely delicious, with outstanding quality & rich flavors. The portions were generous, more than enough for one person, making it a great value for the price. The ambiance was warm & authentic, making me feel right at home.The decor beautifully reflects Persian culture, adding to the overall experience. On top of that, the customer service was exceptional!! everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, & attentive. Everything was just perfect! A hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Montreal, Inja offers a unique take on Persian cuisine that's unlike anything I've encountered elsewhere in Quebec. Despite visiting during an off-hour when the restaurant was empty, the atmosphere was absolutely enchanting, thanks to its gorgeous vintage decor & thoughtfully curated music. As someone relatively new to Afghan-inspired flavors, I found the dishes to be a revelation, with intricate & deeply layered tastes that felt both unfamiliar & captivating. My meal & drink, both saffron-forward, were unexpectedly addictive, leaving me craving more with each bite & sip. One thing to note: the portions are generously sized, so come hungry! For anyone seeking a fresh & exciting culinary experience in Montreal, Inja is a must-visit.
Very lovely decor. Cute place with interesting things on the wall, dressers, chandeliers, etc. Very intimate. Food was very good. Definitely would recommend. The tahchin is very big & worth splitting after an appy.

Food is tasty & delicious but to me very overpriced for what you get (small portions). Sercvice was great & about atmosphere, not much privacy & too much of lighting but nice infusion decoration
This place was incredible! The food quality was outstanding & the staff were extremely polite & welcoming. I tried the shishlik & Adas Polo & each dish was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them. The decor was beautiful, & the cozy atmosphere made me feel completely at home. Truly, one of the best restaurants in Montreal.
Un joyau caché dans un demi-sous-sol, qui mérite d'être découvert. Au premier coup d'oeil, on est charmé par le décor somptueux tant en raison du mobilier que de la vaisselle. Le menu présente une belle variété de saveurs. Le potage de poireaux pommes de terre était excellent, bien que manquant un peu d'exotisme : peut-être qu'il est malgré tout représentatif de la cuisine perse. En revanche, le kebab digi tahhcin, plat très original, était sublime. Coque délicieusement croquante de riz agréablement parfumé, entourant une portion de boeuf bien apprêtée, ce plat m'a ravi. Bien rassasié après ce plat principal, je n'ai pu goûter les desserts, que je réserve à ma prochaine visite. Car prochaine visite il y aura. Ajoutons que le service était exemplaire : efficace, courtois & chaleureux, avec une touche d'humour, tout en demeurant discret.

The restaurant decor is beautiful & tasteful. However the food was a bit underwhelming. All the rice dishes we tried were heavily flavored with cardamom & cinnamon, making them taste more like baklava than rice. We also had to wait quite a while for the waiter to take our order, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Drinks were perfect.
Cute restaurant with the best food! They thought about every detail. From the decor to the chinaware & even the food presentation!!! Prices are also very reasonable for what your getting! Will definitely come back when Im in Montreal next!

The owner & the wait staff were warm, attentive, & always smiling, which added a personal touch to the evening. The food was exceptional-Persian fusion with bold, delicious flavors. I tried the Lubia Polo Tachin & Eggplant & Chicken Tachin, & both dishes were outstanding. The Persian tea & dessert were the perfect way to end the meal. The attention to detail in every aspect of the experience really stood out. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great food in a charming setting. I'll definitely be going back!
