Their Korean pork potato soup has been my go-to for over 10 years - from $7-8 back then to $15-16 now. This place has truly stood the test of time for me
It was great! We love it! Delicious & filling portions! Good service! Recommend! (we had pork soup, crepe with seafood & beef teriyaki 👌🏼)
The food is always delicious, their kimchi is so tasty & the staff is really kind. Yes, the decor is a bit old but i've had such good comforting meals there that it truly doesn't matter. Order anything with kimchi & pork & you'll have a very happy belly. There's so many restaurants on Ste-Catherine & yet I always come back to this one.
Chill Korean restaurant with a lot of options on the menu. Perhaps some items are a hit or miss. The gamjatang was very good, generous portions with the pork bones with a good mix of lean & fatty meat & tendon. The salmon teriyaki was okay, & the BBQ eel was surprisingly tasty. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, it was very crispy & well seasoned without too much batter. The banchan that was served was decent, the braised potatoes & bean spirits were my favourite. Overall, worth coming if you have a craving for Korean food, & looking for an affordable option!
Not as great as before. It gets a little bit old. Before COVID we used to go there all the time. It was cleaner. This place needs a little bit of clean up. My pork bone soup was delicious. But not the beef :(
Amazing authentic Korean food, ordered the black beans noodles & they gladly replaced the pork with chicken due to my dietary restrictions & the beef bulgogi. Great prices great service & great food
Great food, & great value too! Would 100% recommend. Friend had the pork bone soup, which looked delicious! Meanwhile I had the bulgogi, & we split some Fried Chicken & Fried Calamari between the two of us. Left the place satisfied, & full.
The pork bone soup/gamjatang has a rich & silky broth (akin to a good ramen) accompanied by heaping amounts of fall-off-the-bone pork. If you're wondering if you should eat here or what to order, try this.
I don't know why the reviews are so low for this place. Maybe everyone is getting the wrong dish? Get the spicy pork bone soup! It's one of my favorite dishes in the city. I've lived in New York & had spicey pork bone soup at multiple places in New York, & Toronto. This one is by far the best! It's simple but intensely flavored. The portions are large, & the prices are very fair. There are few legit no-frills restaurants in Montreal, & this is one of them.
I always get their pork bone soup every time I come here. My sister used to takeout a few of those to do hotpot at home. It is absolutely delicious & it is a hidden gem for anybody who could handle the heat. That being said, the atmosphere of the place is certainly lacking, & the services were just okay. Seems like most people would rather order takeout instead of coming here, & I would recommend that route too.
