Absolutely DELICIOUS food! Best sushi in Montreal! All the flavours & textures come together perfectly in each & every bite! Lobster Sashimi, Perles Maiko & Popcorn roll are simply ORGASMIC!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Miko Sushi in Montreal, & it was truly a remarkable experience. My cousin, who is a local, recommended this gem, & I must say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance of Miko Sushi set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The sleek & modern décor, coupled with the subtle Japanese-inspired elements, created a welcoming & sophisticated atmosphere. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. Miko Sushi delivered an extraordinary culinary journey that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The freshness & quality of the ingredients were apparent in every bite. From the melt-in-your-mouth sashimi to the intricately crafted rolls, each dish showcased the chef's expertise & dedication to perfection. The menu offered a delightful variety, appealing to both sushi enthusiasts & those looking to explore new flavors. The service at Miko Sushi was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, & knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations & ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was enjoyable. The attention to detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the timing of each course, added to the overall sense of refinement. While Miko Sushi undoubtedly stands out as a high-end sushi establishment, it's worth noting that the prices reflect the quality of the ingredients & the skill involved in crafting each dish. While on the higher end, the dining experience at Miko Sushi is undoubtedly worth the investment for a special occasion or when craving an exceptional sushi experience. In conclusion, Miko Sushi in Montreal is a culinary haven for sushi enthusiasts & anyone seeking an elevated dining experience. The delicious food, excellent service, & sophisticated ambiance make it a standout choice, even with the slightly higher price point. I highly recommend Miko Sushi for a memorable & indulgent dining experience in the heart of Montreal.
The sushi rolls are just unappetizingly way too big !
The tempura vegetables are thickly cut & also way too over battered.
Huge portions are not what a sushi delicacy once had at Maiko are now.
Lighting was way too bright & not dimmed like before.
Service was slow
Maiko was once a very high end sushi experience & now is just about average
Very unfortunate
Food was delicious as always just found the hot rolls came cold.
Probably the worst dining experience of my entire life. Sitting at our table for 20 minutes before the waitress even came over to see us. Almost an hour to get our first plate. Another 30 minutes to get our second plate which was terribly presented (sushi roll falling apart). Maiko used to be great but it seems their service has fallen apart. Will not be going back.
Been a customer for over 20 years & the food as always been the best & freshest last night however the food was not quite there. Everything was a little off, the rolls were not rolled properly & falling apart. L'enfer was brought to us cold & the rice inside tasted strongly of vinegar.
Our waiter although he was nice he was not attentive & an uncomfortable close talker. We laughed it off but had I been a first time customer it would have turned me off going back.
The food is very good as usual but the value for price & service remain an issue at Maiko. Pricing has risen more than other restaurants yet they frequent sub out ingredients for cheaper options without warning (often putting cucumber when the roll should have avocado). It's one of the best options west of Montreal but most people agree that it's taken a turn for the worse in the last 5 years.
This was my 4th time at Maiko & only time i found disappointing. The sushi rolls were not rolled tight enough therefore fell apart making them extremely hard to eat. Had reservations but the tables were so close & music in our area was loud so conversation was difficult. Have always had a pleasant experience so thought it would be a great place to celebrate my sons 40th birthday.
September 2nd 2022 Can't argue on Maiko sushi quality but seems they prefer servicing pick up orders than in house patrons. We have been going out for years & this is the first time I left 0$ as tip We got our appetizers & one maki roll in good time but then nothing. Yes resto was full but they had people on floor waiting on table but seems we fell in noware land. Pick up orders we're going out the door like crazy but after 90 min we took our bill & left. Our waiter told us he put a rush on our order. How can this be as mentioned we got there before the rush.
Do not go to this overly expensive restaurant if you are celiac. I order the 12 piece sushi plate & the server/manager told me he would let the chef decide which 12 pieces I would get for $26.00 plus tax.
To my total disappointment 4 small pieces consisted of 1 inch square of smoked salmon with avocado shared between the 4 pieces 4 pieces each shared a half of a cooked shrimp.
& 6 small rice pieces with avocado. Nothing else. Dry horrible no taste. So basically I paid 26$ for 1 inch worth of smoked salmon & 1/2 a shrimp worth with avocado & no taste rice.
I call over the server & asked to speak to the manger. (He was the Manager) who showed no interest at all at my claim. He kept saying you have allergy this is what you get. I told him how can I justify paying 26$ when I didn't get 12 rolls & no fish in them. I said this is insane. He insisted that this is what an allergic person gets. Not his problem i am celiac. I said but how can you not see there is nothing in my rolls & I was missing 4 on top of it. Said its 12 rolls. Look at the photo. My friend having lunch with me was totally not impressed.
His treatment of a paying customer was appalling & a total disgrace.
BEWARE. This place has changed. Its over priced?.. over rated ?..& the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. !!!!!!
This manager did not care to even remedy my legit claim. He clearly did not give a Royal Damn. Shame on you !!!!!!
Our sushi & sashimi lunch set x 2 were delicious & fresh! But every sushi roll was crumbling & falling apart after dipping in wasabi soy. We had to eat them in little bits. Our waiter was friendly, polite & gave great service throughout. We only mentioned the little problem after paying the bill. He explained that with staff shortages from pandemic & a busy lunch period which indeed it was, the staff may have had to roll the sushi quickly & not tight enough to get them out. He would inform the person concerned & thanked us for letting him know. Why I didn't give a 5 star rating.
Maki rolls way to much rice,
Should be mire refined as before not to overshadow the fresh tuna & salmon
The order of the plates was confusing. Our jardin the maiko was our last plate We had makis...volcano...scallops...foie gras roll....gyoza...snd many others before
Service was a bit slow (not unusual); seemed understaffed though.
Sushi rolls were good but seemed smaller than usual.
My favourite restaurant whether its for girls night or going out for dinner with my husband & daughter. Their specialty rolls are amazing as well as their tartare & we're never disappointed.
Food was very good however service was a little slow. We were a party of 5 & most sushi rolls we ordered were 4 pieces...so someone was always left out. We asked to make larger rolls to accommodate our group but to no avail. We also booked two weeks in advance only to be given the worst table in the house right by the door.
As we were leaving the restaurant I turned to my husband & said that I couldn't believe that we had never come here before. We go out to eat at least twice a week & living on the West Island we had never been here before. Incredible. The place is incredible. We had the fresh oysters, followed by a sushi roll, scallop with foie gras & red snapper. Had a bottle of saki & fried ice cream. Every thing was super & our young waiter helped us out by recommending the red snapper which was a special & not on the menu. We will definitely be going back. My only recommendation would be to have a little bit more brightness. It's so dark that you need the torch on your phone to read the menu.
Rolls are good but too much rice so takes away from the flavou
I was totally disappointed with the food quality. We are a sushi fanatic, real sushi an not rice, veggie & may rolls!!! The sashimi was of a very low quality, the sushi rolls were the quality of a low end restaurant with the price of high end one. Clearly I will not waist my time in going again!
our group had shellfish allergies & the staff were incredible in suggesting rolls which could be safely enjoyed. We will come back for sure!
