Food was meh. But attention was great & the atmosphere of the place is very intimate & special. It might be better just to go for drinks (cocktails, not wines) next time
Great spot to catch live jazz & enjoy some wonderful cocktails. The bartender was a good sport, happy to create non-menu items at our request. Service was fine if a little scattered; it took a few rounds of edits to get the bills for our party of five properly sorted out.

C'est impardonnable. Nous étions là pour la fête d'une amie & on nous a chassés de la table 30 minutes avant le temps qui nous avait été accordé.
Un de nos amis n'a même pas pu finir son dessert & a dû le manger en 5 minutes au bar.
Quand nous avons regardé la table d'où on nous avait si brusquement fait partir, elle est restée vide : il n'y avait personne pour la prendre.
Franchement, ils auraient pu au moins attendre que nous terminions de manger.
Le service était lent, la nourriture très médiocre & les prix excessifs pour la faible qualité.
Juste avant de partir on a eu le droit à de la musique beaucoup trop forte & qui cassé les oreilles. On a dû partir car ça devenait insupportable.

J'ai pris le menu dégustation à 6 services. Incroyable!!! Du service jusqu'à la qualité & la saveurs des plats. C'est ma deuxième fois déjà & je reviendrai assurément.
Fortement recommandé, pour un date ou une sortie entre amis. J'y suis allé la première fois avec ma fiancée & quelques semaines après avec mes collègues,. Belle ambiance & une expérience personnalisée, les chefs John & Mathieu sont venus personnellement à notre table à la fin du service.

My friends & I attended this restaurant for our friend's birthday. We arrived at 8pm, it took an hour to get our drink order placed because our waitress didn't come see us for the first hour we were there, only taking our order when we went up to the bar & said we were ready to order. Then it took another 25 minutes to just get our food menus. Apparently since we were 12 we had to order a minimum of 55 dollars (which was not disclosed when going back & forth in text with the manager for making the reservation). Our only options was to choose the 65$ tasting menu. Fine. Our waitress Christina told us the salad was a garden salad with vinaigrette.It took an hour to get the smallest bowl of Cesar salad I have ever seen in my life. Then it took another 45 minutes to get our appetizer then another 30 minutes for main. We had told the staff that we needed to be out before 11pm but since our reservation was at 8pm we figured it would be no problem.We left at 12am. The whole time we were waiting the waitress never came to our table once. When it came time to pay there was an added 10$ jazz band fee which was not disclosed through messages with the staff. Telling us specifically that there would be no jazz band that night. When my friend said she would have liked to been notified about this cost our waitress Christina said'Yeah no shit' then THREW her receipt at her. Continuing to do the same with my other friend when she was not satisfied with the tip she received. Every single person at that table has worked in the service industry & we understand what it's like but I was beyond upset at my experience at this restaurant. When my friend left her poor review the manager messaged her asking her to take it down!

Food: The food was amazing, I tried the tasting menu, everything tasted fresh & well balanced. I had the aged black angus striploin, it was very well seasoned & cooked perfectly. The cooks clearly have a ton of exerience.
Service: The waiters/waitresses were super polite & welcoming, they knew the menu very well & everything we ordered arrived within a very good timeframe considering that the place was almost running at full capacity.
Atmosphere: I went there on a friday, there was a live band playing jazz/blues. The music was neither too loud nor too quiet, it was simply perfect, you could have a conversation with the person next to you without having to yell for them to hear you. It definitely added a relaxing ambiance to the evening.
Christina was so rude, she charged us for the band when we were going back & forth in text & never mentioned a charge (i made the reservation & they told me there wouldn't be a band) i let her know that i would have liked to know she said'no shit' & threw my receipt on the table. Worse service I've ever had. It took us 1hour to order drinks, & received our supper 3 hours later. Extremely unprofessional & unorganized.
Hier, jeudi soir, nous sommes aller souper au Magique Magpie & avons pris le menu dégustation. Nous avons bien mangé & l'ambiance était très agréable. J'ai particulièrement aimé la Burratina & le drink'Date Night'! Merci!
L'ambiance est chouette mais malheureusement on n'a pas pu profiter du spectacle bien longtemps. La salle est trop tassée vers la scène donc le trompettiste (talentueux) nous joue dans les tympans (on étaient au 1er rang), à tel point que mon conjoint avait l'oreille qui sifflait au bout de 2 chansons…
Pas de possibilité d'être placés ailleurs (le bar était totalement ok pour nous mais pas possible apparemment) donc on a dû quitter.
La bouffe est sans plus (le foie gras est minimaliste), les cocktails sont bons mais vraiment déçue de pas avoir pu profiter du show.
Autre gros bémol : on est en plein hiver avec manteaux, tuques etc, pas de vestiaires on mange avec nos affaires sur nos genoux, un peu galère…

J' ai été très déçu de cette expérience. Réservation non honorée, table en face de la scène à 50cm du trompettiste, quantité de foie gras très léger par rapport au prix. Résultat un début d'acouphène & j'ai faim.
Dommage c'était mon cadeau pour ma fête..
Beautiful non-pretentious speakeasy. Lots of space to sit, lush red drapings. They recently re-opened with a more food focused approach, so hopefully it will live up to the hype!
Cool speakeasy vibe, great atmosphere offering traditional seating, as well as, a couch area & a couple intimate spaces for two. Excited to see a dinner menu that included upscale choices. Food was fantastic, loved the salmon tartare, beef cheeks & signature Date Night cocktail. Excited to see what is to come in the future as this was an opening night! Will be back next time I'm in Montreal.
Magnifique ambiance pour ce « soft opening», j'ai adoré. Le décor est très sympa. Je recommande en particulier le cocktail Skittle Martini & le tartare de saumon. Tout le monde était sur le pont pour une première soirée inoubliable.
