OMG!! I promise you won't regret coming here! Magpie is magical-a super cozy, welcoming little speakeasy with stunning, eclectic, burlesque-style décor! A wonderfully warm, jazzy vibe this Saturday night; the food was delicious & served quickly, & the service at the bar from Magalie was perfect 👌. It was the ideal solo night out to enjoy some quality time with myself-though it's also a great spot to visit as a couple or with friends. Pure enjoyment! Thanks for the good time ❤?

Ambiance jazzy très chaleureuse en ce samedi soir, bouffe super bonne & servi assez rapidement, service parfait au bar de la part de Magalie 👌 soirée en solo juste parfaite pour un bon moment avec moi même, ceci dit venez en couple, entre amis, plaisir garantie. Great spot to catch live jazz & enjoy some wonderful cocktails. The bartender was a good sport, happy to create non-menu items at our request. Service was fine if a little scattered; it took a few rounds of edits to get the bills for our party of five properly sorted out.
C'est impardonnable. Nous étions là pour la fête d'une amie & on nous a chassés de la table 30 minutes avant le temps qui nous avait été accordé.
Un de nos amis n'a même pas pu finir son dessert & a dû le manger en 5 minutes au bar.
Quand nous avons regardé la table d'où on nous avait si brusquement fait partir, elle est restée vide : il n'y avait personne pour la prendre.
Franchement, ils auraient pu au moins attendre que nous terminions de manger.
Le service était lent, la nourriture très médiocre & les prix excessifs pour la faible qualité.
Juste avant de partir on a eu le droit à de la musique beaucoup trop forte & qui cassé les oreilles. On a dû partir car ça devenait insupportable.

My friends & I attended this restaurant for our friend's birthday. We arrived at 8pm, it took an hour to get our drink order placed because our waitress didn't come see us for the first hour we were there, only taking our order when we went up to the bar & said we were ready to order. Then it took another 25 minutes to just get our food menus. Apparently since we were 12 we had to order a minimum of 55 dollars (which was not disclosed when going back & forth in text with the manager for making the reservation). Our only options was to choose the 65$ tasting menu. Fine. Our waitress Christina told us the salad was a garden salad with vinaigrette.It took an hour to get the smallest bowl of Cesar salad I have ever seen in my life. Then it took another 45 minutes to get our appetizer then another 30 minutes for main. We had told the staff that we needed to be out before 11pm but since our reservation was at 8pm we figured it would be no problem.We left at 12am. The whole time we were waiting the waitress never came to our table once. When it came time to pay there was an added 10$ jazz band fee which was not disclosed through messages with the staff. Telling us specifically that there would be no jazz band that night. When my friend said she would have liked to been notified about this cost our waitress Christina said'Yeah no shit' then THREW her receipt at her. Continuing to do the same with my other friend when she was not satisfied with the tip she received. Every single person at that table has worked in the service industry & we understand what it's like but I was beyond upset at my experience at this restaurant. When my friend left her poor review the manager messaged her asking her to take it down!
L'ambiance est chouette mais malheureusement on n'a pas pu profiter du spectacle bien longtemps. La salle est trop tassée vers la scène donc le trompettiste (talentueux) nous joue dans les tympans (on étaient au 1er rang), à tel point que mon conjoint avait l'oreille qui sifflait au bout de 2 chansons…
Pas de possibilité d'être placés ailleurs (le bar était totalement ok pour nous mais pas possible apparemment) donc on a dû quitter.
La bouffe est sans plus (le foie gras est minimaliste), les cocktails sont bons mais vraiment déçue de pas avoir pu profiter du show.
Autre gros bémol : on est en plein hiver avec manteaux, tuques etc, pas de vestiaires on mange avec nos affaires sur nos genoux, un peu galère…
5/5 Super bar à cocktail 🍸/speakeasy avec une ambiance sympathique, un service attentif & des tapas délicieux! Nous avons fêté un anniversaire chez Magpie Magique & ils ont vraiment tout fait pour que nous passions une soirée mémorable. Aussi, la bouffe est fraîche , & les pizzas super bonnes !
One of the cosiest restaurants I have ever tried in Montreal! Interesting unique interior design of restaurant & bar & dim lighting make it very attractive to eat their perfect pizza & enjoy professional cocktails! Friendly staff & gentle owners, highly recommended.
Très beau bar caché ! Une belle surprise, la décoration est superbe & intimiste. Les pizzas étaient vraiment délicieuses & belle proposition de cocktail/ mocktail. C'est pour sûr, un superbe endroit pour un date ou un événement spécial.
L'endroit a changé de manager, & ça parait… Les drinks sont bons, mais sans le moindre effort de présentation, rien. Dans des verres plus qu'ordinaires & même des verres à vins pour des cocktails qui devraient se servir dans des coupes. Aucune - pas la moindre - garniture pour aucun des cocktails commandés. Il y a comme un laxisme, un manque d'effort évident. Des quantités qui varient aussi d'une commande à une autre pour un même cocktail… Côté nourriture: noix & olives adéquates mais en quantité insuffisante pour le prix. Humus beaucoup trop liquide & insipide. Encore là, un manque d'effort. Est-ce que ce bar compte sur une réputation acquise?… une telle réputation est malheureusement en compétition à Montréal, où d'autres endroits offrent une meilleure qualité à moindre prix. Dommage.
