I dine regularly in Montreal & almost never left a review but felt compeled to this time. To put it simply, save yourself the time & money.
The brunch menu lacks variety & is simply not worth the price they charge for what is considered a very standard breakfast plate(s). Additionally, the the pastries they served we small & burnt (specifically the almond croissant). It was not the only burnt food at the table, the waffle I had was quite dry & lacked flavor, & the bacon I received seemed to have been forgotten on the fire as it was black in my plate.
Additionally, the service was lacking. Coffee took over 20 min to come to the table after ordering, despite the place not being very busy, & we could not get a server to bring us salt & pepper. To the point where one of the members at my table got up & took shakers himself so we could eat our eggs.
Based on what I observed I cannot fathom how this restaurant has managed to survive in Montreal when there are so many better alternatives around (such as Jardin Nelson); my only explanation is it lives off of hype & is very'instagram-able'. If you care to actually eat & sample diverse food at a reasonable price, please choose a different restaurant.
Restaurante obrigatório pra quem for pra Montreal!
Wszystko pi?knie i minimalistycznie podane.

I usually judge a restaurant by three things: quality, quantity, & cost. Unfortunately, Maggie Oakes missed the mark on all three for us.
Of course, ambiance matters, & the setting is nice. But ultimately, when you go to a restaurant at this price point, you are looking for a good meal.
We ordered the Lobster Thermidor for $64 & the filet mignon for $68. Both were disappointing. The lobster was dry, the filet mignon was underwhelming, & the portions felt surprisingly small for the price.
The Lobster Thermidor was especially disappointing. The plate came with a half lobster, a few green beans, & some whole potatoes. For $64, it felt sparse & almost careless. The presentation made the meal feel even more disappointing rather than elevated.
The only item that felt like decent value was the burger. Compared to the rest of the meal, it was the one dish where the price, portion, & quality felt more reasonable.
At this price point, I expected something more generous, refined, & memorable. Instead, most of the meal felt expensive, dry, & ordinary.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience, & I would not recommend Maggie Oakes based on this visit.
This was my first time & will be my last.
Nice food, great service, & a beautiful atmosphere. The staff were friendly & attentive, making the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Montreal!
amazing Restaurant. Good food. What stands out the most is the service. The person that made our night even better was the service by Louis J. He made sure the night was memorable. Great job 👍
Went there for a corporate event & loved the vibe & energy.
I'd recommend planning ahead, as it gets busy quickly.
I can't really comment on pricing since the bill was covered, but it seemed comparable to most restaurants in Old Québec.
Overall, it was a great experience.
