I always love this place whenever I go. I highly recommend the pad thai, pad see ew, & green curry. The green curry is my absolute favourite!
I tried Tom Yum noodles that had one spicy mark out of four. It was good.
I've been to Mae Sri in Downtown twice, & I've tried both Pad Thai & Tom Yum noodles. The Tom Yum noodles in Downtown had three spicy marks out of four.
I think they use different recipes.
Our fav Thai restaurant in mtl! We come here for almost every date night ;)
Love the food but the portion size is way too small compared to other similar Thai restaurants
The pad see eww portion is way too small for even one person
The food at this Thai restaurant was good, though not particularly surprising or memorable. The service was friendly & attentive, & the atmosphere was quiet & pleasant, great for a peaceful meal. The only downside is the location; it's not close to any metro station, which makes it a bit inconvenient to get to. Overall, a decent experience if you're nearby.
Fantastic lunch at a great spot, we asked for extra spicy (Thai level spice) & they delivered. Lots of variety on the menu so my girlfriend & I ordered several dishes each. Great relaxed atmosphere with a friendly & approachable staff - what more can you ask for other than great food, fast!
Very beautiful decor, toilets could use a little fresh up. The food was very average especially for the price, but the thai tea & green tea with condensed milk were delicious. We ordered the baa mee moo soup & specifically asked for not spicy for my partner (on the menu it said not spicy too), yet it was still spicy. We told the server & she said it was the pepper...You shouldn't treat customers like idiots, I eat spicy food & I know the spice was not from the pepper...we could even see the chili flakes on the broth. We were taken aback by that treatment & the lack of enthusiasm in general from the staff
That is the most authentic Thai food I have ever experienced in Quebec. As a person who had lived in Thai,I can say Pad Kra Pao is my favourite all time of this place💕💕& the papaya salad is exactly the same taste. But rice is sometimes undercooked in khao Man Gai steamed chicken. But overall is great 👍
Good place ive had more authentic Thai food the menu is small & its kinda weird to have to order before sitting down kinda like st a school cafeteria but the food is good.
Mae Sri Comptoir Thai in Montreal has a charming, intimate ambiance, but our recent visit had a rough start. Arriving around noon, about 30 minutes after opening, we were met with an unpleasant sewage-like odor in the restaurant that lingered throughout our meal, unfortunately detracting from the overall atmosphere.
The QR code for the menu wasn't working, though the server quickly offered to airdrop it, which was a nice, tech-savvy workaround. Our food arrived promptly, & prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The Pad See Ew noodles were served a bit more al dente than we prefer. The dry noodle dishes had a flavor profile that leaned milder than traditional - not as savoury as they traditionally are. The papaya salad could have used a little more zest as well, but the Thai iced tea was refreshing & enjoyable.
Overall, Mae Sri Comptoir Thai is decent, with fair pricing & good service, but it may not be our top pick for Thai food in Montreal.
Great Thai place if you're in the area! I especially love the mango sticky rice
The first time I ate there was a few years ago, & I've dreamed about that of Thai ever since. & let me tell you my dreams came true again.
Greeted by friendly smiles I picked up my order, exactly on time, & hurried home. There was a smiley face next to my name on the bag, which made me smile. Bonus point!
The smell, the freshness, the taste sensation. I was by myself & I literally said out loud,'damn, that was so gooood.'
Perfection.
Merci ❤?
PS. No photos because I ate that thing so fast; no time for messing around.
I love this restaurant. Authentic Thai food with fresh ingredients & a nice ambiance. Good value for the price point. Everything I've ever ordered has been excellent. My favourite is the Tom Yum soup - very generous serving & delicious. Service is also excellent - staff are friendly & helpful. You order & pay at the cash first, which I don't mind as then you are not waiting for the bill when you need to get going, which I find happens in a lot of restaurants. Your food is brought to your table very efficiently. There is also a small patio for warmer months.
Ordered fried fish ball brochettes, the spicy seafood tum yum soup & the stir fry pork with thai Basil to go. All the food was delicious & still piping hot when I got it back to my place (10 min walk in March). I could eat the tum yum everyday.
This used to be a neighbourhood go-to Thai place for years, but now the portions have gotten smaller & prices have gotten higher. I'm not blaming the waitresses on shift but the service was extra slow as well, it seems the kitchen was more focused on food delivery orders than those sitting in the restaurant. Quite disappointing experience.
This is my new go-to Thai restaurant in MTL. I can tell it is very authentic Thai food with the almost same taste & quality I could have in Bankok. PRICE IS ALSO REASONABLE, as it should be for real Thai food. I had Tom yum soup as their soups were touted as their specialization. & it was the best Ton yum I've had in MTL. But be aware, there's no luxurious decor or fancy cocktails as some people may prefer.
A friend & I stopped here for dinner & it was pretty good! The staff were very nice. The kar pow was great & my friend really liked her Tom yum soup! If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely try the Thai ice tea with condensed milk & the papaya salad.
