While many tourists flock to La Banquise, locals often prefer this spot. The chicken here is beautifully cooked, tender, & juicy, making it a standout dish. Their poutine is also quite good, offering a hearty & satisfying option. To complete the meal, don't miss out on their desserts, which are both fresh & flavorful. The salads are a great addition too, balancing the richness of the main course. Altogether, it's a place that delivers both quality & authenticity.
We waited 1 hour in line a Tuesday evening.
Price wise, it's insanely great! We had a large poutine shared me & my boyfriend & the portion is huge enough to have us completely in food coma.
The poutine overall was very good, the Portuguese sausages in it slapped! & the meat was generous. Only thing to take note, is that since they undo the chicken right before building tue poutine, there will be bits of cartilage. It got me by surprised, some of my friends weren't fan of it.
Best poutine i've ever had, & i've had quite a lot!!!
Opted for the one with the Portuguese-style chicken & chorizo sausage as well. Soooo good. Very good priced for what you get.
We tried the Portuguese chicken & poutine here. The chicken itself was juicy & cooked well, but it was missing that bold peri peri flavor I was hoping for - it felt a little underwhelming. The poutine was generous, but honestly had way too many cheese curds, which threw off the balance with the gravy & fries. On top of that, the ladies working at the counter were pretty rude, which made the experience less enjoyable. The tables were dirty & not cleaned after previous customers. Overall the food was okay, but the service, cleanliness & details need improvement.
My friend & I sat with some lovely people who shared their table. There is a line up but it is worth the wait. I love their fries & will try their poutine next time. I got a half chicken meal.
Absolutely incredible poutine & chicken. MEGA portions! We visited after seeing the show on Somebody Feed Phil & it did not disappoint
Avons bien aimé...nous avons manger la poutine mais c vraiment pas notre préférer mais étais bonne.sans plus
Mais on y retourne pour la salade elle a l'air hyper bonne
& les prix sont non dispendieux pour la grosseur hyper généreuse
I had the chicken/chorizo poutine. This place might as well be a buffet, because I couldn't stop eating it until my stomach hurt. It's more of a takeout spot, it was very busy, & the service was acceptable. You will come back for the excellent food!
I don't get the hype for the Portuguese poutine. Mine barely had any chicken & a few bites I came down on cartilage & a small bone, not pleasant. The sausage was just ok & the poutine was average. Service was efficient but the wait on line took awhile. This dish is very heavy & greasy & I could only finish half. The small order is large enough for a pair to share.
Yummy poutine. 3 of us shared a small & it was plenty. Very decadent.
Mouth-wateringly good Portuguese rotisserie chicken. Very affordable. Their house poutine, with chicken, chorizo & piri-piri sauce, is iconic. Be prepared to wait in line. It's totally worth the wait.
I love Portuguese chicken & I love poutine, safe to say I loved the #8 chicken & sausage poutine here. It was a long wait even when we didn't start waiting outside, so be prepared. However, their poutine is my personal favourite in the city & well worth the wait.
The fries are potatoey, thick, but still crispy, the cheese curds are classic & squeaky, gravy reminded me of the flavourful sauce of a Portuguese francesinha, & the chicken & sausages were juicy & flavourful with spices & flame grilled essence. Great value as well.
Used to love this place. But the last visit last week, I found the prices went up, the food felt more greasy leaving me feeling sick after, & the time to wait for takeaway was crazy. There were probably 15 people in front of me, & no joke, we waited 35 minutes get our food. Large poutine didn't come with spicy sauce like it used to. Disappointed & won't likely return for another while.
