Also very filling. When you order you tell them what you want & they give you a ticket & you pay at the counter at the end. Takes about 5-10 mins depending on how busy they are. You can eat outside on benches or down the street at the park.
I'll be honest - I came to Montreal a few years ago & had their poutine almost everyday for a week. Unfortunately, my visit to Montreal had fallen short this time around because the poutine no longer is anywhere near as good as it used to be. Cold, non-squeaky cheese curds, & soggy stale fries. Sad. Hope they make a comeback.
It's not what it used to be, unfortunately. We ordered a chicken poutine, & it went straight to the garbage. The fries were clearly from the day before or several hours old because they tasted like cardboard.
Portuguese chicken poutine was very good. Got a small. Portion sizes are good. I had ordered the chicken & chorizo poutine but didn't get any chorizo. Maybe lost in translation. Service is quick. Atmosphere is decent.
Recommended by Canadian friends, we tried this highly reputed Portuguese restaurant, & we were not disappointed by the excellent poutines & chicken sandwiches! The portions are generous, & the prices are reasonable. The salads are also of good quality. So, the quality/price/quantity ratio is unbeatable in the city. Expect a bit of a wait (30 minutes during lunchtime). There are few seats inside, but good weather allows for takeout & a meal at La Fontaine Park, which is just next door. I highly recommend it!
Didn't really enjoy the Poutine, it was more quantity over quality. However, the value for money is excellent & staff are nice. Some of the chicken is cartilage / a bit difficult to chew which can be jarring amongst the other soft ingredients & the gravy is a bit too salty.
Best poutine in MTL ever! Charcoal-grilled chicken toppings & sausages tasted crazy. So delicious!!! It was so hot inside while I was waiting. It woule be great if there could have any fan to cool down
Visited given the publicity & recommendations. Tasty poutine with chicken & chorizo but found it the gravy a bit salty. Grilled chicken was succulent & well seasoned.
What are you doing in Montreal? Go here! The poutine is great but I think the potatoes they put under the chicken while they roast are even better & the sandwich with spicy sauce is out of this world. I'd be so happy if NYC could snag this guy...
Poutine (#8) definitely hit the spot - wish I were 20 yrs younger though so I can take on the hearty food more! Popular but small place so expect line out of the door during busy time
Food is top notch, portion is huge, only complain is the place is really hot (summer), imagine eating inside a sauna room. Chicken is so tender, poutine is great although a bit salty probably be cause if the sausage. Salad is better than a lot of higher end restaurants.
Great poutine! The quantity for a large is good enough to be shared by 3 very hungry people in my opinion. Fantastic staff & great folks waiting in line too!
Consistently the best poutine in Montreal (if you're looking for the OG poutine + chicken & sausage). The sauce is excellent & plenty of cheese. Too bad they don't offer any funky poutines with plenty of extras. They also have some Portuguese desserts at checkout if you've never tried.
Thicccccccc boy portions & so worth it for the value. Shared it among 3 big growing manz & i wasn't stuffed by any means but def hit the spot. Portuguese chicken on top was juicy juicyyy yum yum. Although, chorizo with the poutine was kind of mid. Fries were freshhhh. First time I went here & I barely dented it when I ate it by myself so 100% should share with at least 1 other person. Will always hit it up anytime I'm back in MTL lezzzz go
I ordered the small poutine & ate it at La Fontaine park nearby. I loved the chicken, cheese, & fries, but the chorizo wasn't necessary in my opinion & I wish the gravy wasn't thickened with cornstarch. However this was my first intro into Canadian poutine so I have nothing to compare it with.
