We have some doubts about other items on the menu, since the one less authentic addition (the sliced beef) doesn't quite fit with the flavor profile- but we would definitely recommend the noodle soup with the original broth + fish for an easy & satisfying meal. It was absolutely delicious & fresh. I couldn't believe that we had that much food for so cheap. Very fast service & staff were friendly & helpful. The restaurant is very clean.View more
Cute place tucked away behind a bubble tea shop.
The sauerkraut fish stew was amazing. The fish was tender & super flavourful.
The sweet & sour cabbage was probably the best I've ever had.
Can't wait to come back & try the grilled fish!View more

Great spot to try if you love chinese food, especially if it's your first timer in Chinatown. Fast & friendly service!
I totally fell in love with this restaurant & I totally recommend to everyone!
Food is great : noodle, rice, appetizers, stir fry & grilled basa fish.
I recommend :
- grilled basa fish : so crispy, so flavorful , just the right amount of spices. There are no bones & it's a great dish to share.
- Lunch menu special : for only 9.99$, you get a soup base, noodles & protein, all customizable!
- Fried pork bites & if you are feeling adventurous, whole squid skewers.
- Legit any drinks. I had the mango sago, strawberry smoothie, brown sugar coconut milk taro & the Hong Kong milk tea & they were all amazing.View more
Happy to see sauerkraut fish in MTL. Everything is super flavorful & the portion is quite generous for the price.View more
Si vous aimez la cuisine épicée, l endroit est conseillé. Le cadre est sans charme particulier, le service juste efficace.View more

Fish soup with pumpkin based broth was very tasty. Mild & not spicy at all. You can add extra toppings as you wish but the base topping was good enough for me.View more
We found Mr. Fish on a recent trip to Montréal. Typical us, we travel to a new foreign city & immediately look to explore their Chinatown 😂. If I lived in Montréal, I could definitely see Mr. Fish becoming one of our go to staple restaurants. The space is small yet inviting & shares a building with a boba shop which we ordered while we ate. We knew we had a long day of traveling & exploring other restaurants so we wanted to keep our order light & decided to go with their signature sauerkraut fish stew with a side of shredded potatoes & smashed cucumbers. When the fish stew arrived the presentation was so charming & reminded us of eating in Taiwan. The rice they served was a heaping delicious mound & went perfectly with the spicy, sour & delicious soup. Service was kind & present, but not too overbearing. Much appreciated 🤙🏼. Definitely worth a visit!View more
Wifey wanted some Asian food so I searched Chinatown. Out of 3 restaurants, she picked this one. She was concerned if we would be able to get a table on a Sunday night, but that was not an issue. It wasn't very busy. The restaurant did not have a lot of dining tables either & it's connected to Yi Fang drinks. She had her eyes set on sauerkraut fish stew as that's their specialty. We picked the house special one & had it at regular spicy level. The server said you could increase the spiciness but can't really lower it much. We stuck with the regular spiciness. It was still kind of burning as we mildly suffered & enjoyed the dish. We only had one bowl of rice & shared it, but it was a big heaping bowl so it was enough. Probably would have been less spice burning if we had more rice. lol We also got a grilled squid skewer. It wasn't much to write home about, but it was okay. That's all we got because I had planned on going to another place for dinner #2. We would go back for the sauerkraut fish stew again so 4 stars!View more
I can make szechuan spicy fish at home myself, but oh boy do I still come to this place, they are on a whole other level. I cannot recommend this place enough.View more
