Review Summary

Fleurs & Cadeaux is widely celebrated as a standout Japanese bistro in Montreal, known for its intimate atmosphere, vibrant music, and expertly crafted izakaya-style dishes. Many guests praise the exceptional quality and freshness of the sashimi, the flavorful miso-aged duck, and the creative tasting menu, often highlighting the experience of sitting at the bar to watch the chefs work as a major plus. While the service is frequently described as warm, knowledgeable, and professional, some diners have reported inconsistencies, noting occasional issues with rushed timing, impersonal attitudes, or small portion sizes relative to the price. Despite some mixed feedback regarding the reservation process and value, the restaurant remains a highly recommended destination for those seeking a unique, high-quality culinary journey in Chinatown.

Had the most memorable birthday dinner here, looking after by the warmest & friendliest team! The food was divine & the prices were very reasonable! The duck breast & roast beef were exceptional. This place is a must-visit whenever I'm back in Montreal!

Tous les plats que nous avons commandés étaient excellents. Le format assiettes à partager rend le tout très convivial. Je recommande les yeux fermés.

Fleur & Cadeaux has become our go-to date night spot with my husband, & it's one of those places we keep going back to without even thinking twice.

The space is quite tight, so you're seated close to other tables, but somehow it still manages to feel intimate rather than uncomfortable. The lighting & overall ambiance really carry the experience-it has this warm, slightly dim, romantic feel that makes it perfect for a casual but special dinner.

Food-wise, everything we've tried has been consistently excellent, but the duck is absolutely our favourite. No exaggeration-we've ordered it multiple times in one sitting because it's that good. It's rich, flavorful, & cooked in a way that makes you want to keep coming back for more.

Another standout for us is the tantan udon. It's comforting, slightly spicy, & very well balanced, with a depth of flavour that makes it just as memorable as the duck, even though it's a very different kind of dish.

Overall, it's the kind of place that doesn't rely on being overly fancy-it just gets the food & atmosphere right. If you're near Chinatown & looking for a romantic but relaxed dinner spot, I'd highly recommend it.

This place is offensively priced & caters to people who don't know better. Case & point: they charge $14 for a single piece of cold kailan with a bottled sauce. Avoid this pretentious sham of a restaurant.

Edit: to the owner who replied, please explain to me what part of my review is factually false?
