Lou's Restaurant is described across reviews as a cozy, stylish West Island spot with consistently high quality food, great drinks, and friendly, attentive service that makes it feel like a neighborhood gem. Diners praise a diverse menu with standout dishes such as tuna carpaccio, crab cake, beef tartare, pasta Genovese, and a variety of pasta options, along with brioche bread and a beloved bread pudding for dessert. The atmosphere is frequently called welcoming and intimate, suitable for date nights, family dinners, or private events in the downstairs room, though several comments note that the space can be very loud and noisy at peak times. Service is repeatedly described as courteous and knowledgeable, with many experiences marked by quick, efficient hospitality, while a few visits are tempered by slower pacing or uneven attention. Value and portion size receive mixed feedback, with some guests feeling meals are pricey or portions small for the price, while others find the offerings well balanced for the West Island. The kitchen is praised for thoughtful preparation and attention to detail, and the drinks program is highlighted as well curated and flavorful. Overall, the consensus is that Lou's Restaurant is a top local option, delivering memorable dining and a lively vibe, with minor caveats about noise, pacing, and value depending on the visit.
We went as a group of 18 people. We had a full course going for all of us. For the main course we all ended up having just a slice of a steak & some chicken. Alot of appetisers before that though. To be honest the food was really good almost to perfection but the portions were very small & its my reason for 3 stars. Would highly recommend ordering off the menu instead. We did ask for ordering off the menu & they never came back to us for this. Some sort of angry manager came in at some point & it really looked like she was mad for no reason & she was extremely rude. The desserts are to die for though.
Terrible experience we reserved for 18 ended up being 23 couldn't change how many people we had couldn't order off the regular menu didn't get an answer with a lot of questions even with only 18 each person got a sliver of each meal with a set menu & to top it all off this angry manager whatever she was came into the room wasn't even our waitress & was completely disrespectful & extremely rude. I would recommend never spending your time or money at this broken establishment

Really great local restaurant & if you are not a local, well worth the visit. Tuna Carpaccio is absolutely delicious as well as the scallops. Staff are professional & knowledgeable & I'm looking forward to my next visit.
A nice place! The service was good, maybe just a bit of a wait time overall but our server was very friendly. The food was great too, maybe the portion was just a tad small, & I like the overall vibe of the place.
After all that distance, I'm glad I found this nugget of delight!
Its a wonderful restaurant filled with a variety of distinct flavors, & an even greater staff to accompany such an experience. My sincere gratitude to the young waitress who attended me.
Thank you Gaby 🧡
I'm looking forward to the next visit.

Lou's never disappoints. Kicked things off with some fresh oysters, followed by a hearty & flavorful plate of pasta Genovese-absolutely delicious. The meal ended on a high note with their incredible bread pudding, which is worth the visit on its own. The vibe is always welcoming & relaxed, & the service consistently hits the mark-attentive without being overbearing. While the wine selection isn't extensive, they always manage to have just the right bottle to complement the meal. A solid go-to spot in Pointe-Claire.
service is great! while the spot is trendy & has a fun vibe, the layout is a bit strange with the tables quite close together. the food is fine, but nothing too special. lots of fun drink options!
Love having this calibre restaurant on the west island! Perfect décor, the cocktails were worth it & the food was spectacular. Thank you for the culinary experience.
Where to start! We went for a girls night dinner on the terrasse & starting with the Spicy Marg, to the Parker Rolls & the Caesar salad everything was delish :) but the Papardelle with braised short rib was next level! A HUGE shoutout to our server Gaby as well. The service was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Thank you Gaby!

Cocktails were fantastic. Great service by Maggie. Brussel sprouts where top notch, loved the dish of the day (Rigatoni spicy vodka sauce with lobster)
Loved the experience, will be back!
Fantastic food, some of the best on the island. Fresh oysters. Great mains, great cheesecake. Couldn't recommend more for a dinner date. Slightly slow service however, but that doesn't seem to be a regular thing from what I've heard from others.
Food was amazing, we were a group of 6 so we tried quite a few options on the menu. Portions are exact for the price you pay they could be better, that said left room for dessert ! desserts are amazing ! All said it's a must try !
Had dinner with some friends. The place was busy & super loud. A bit too loud for me. Justine our waitress was very good. She was friendly & attentive. The crab cake was delicious but wasn't hot enough. Not sure if it hung around in the back counter before it was brought out to me. The food was a hit. My wife's salmon was delicious & had a crispiness she appreciated. My half chicken was on the small side despite the description but was buttery & delicious. It sat in a sort of lentil broth that married very well. We all enjoyed our experience minus the volume. Will be back.
Years ago, I was wandering the dessert, on the brink of total exhaustion & desperate for water. Among the dunes, I stumbled upon a lamp. I rubbed the lamp three times. Suddenly, a blue genie emerged from the lamp, smiling down at me. He said,'I will grant you three wishes.' My throat impossibly dry, I replied:'I only need one wish: for there to be an actually good restaurant in the West Island of Montreal.'
The genie winked at me & nodded his head. I was transported to Pointe-Claire village in front of a magical place: Lou's. The drinks were phenomenal, cocktails of such high quality you would think you were at a bar downtown. The beer tartare was exquisite; the atmosphere cozy; the vibes immaculate. Maybe it was a dream, or a mirage - but the memory of Lou's earns 5 stars regardless.
