Overall, reviews of Lou's Restaurant describe a dining experience that many find delicious and inviting, with standout dishes, well crafted cocktails and a wine list that complements the menu. The food is frequently praised for freshness and flavor, from tuna carpaccio and pasta dishes to burgers and desserts like bread pudding. The atmosphere is described as cozy, stylish, and welcoming, with a neighborhood vibe that many appreciate for dates or casual dinners and even private events. Service is variable, ranging from attentive, knowledgeable and friendly to slower, less consistent experiences with occasional delays or miscommunications, though staff are commonly described as kind and helpful. Noise levels and portions are recurring themes, with some finding the room pleasantly lively and others finding it loud or the portions small for the price, yet many guests leave impressed and eager to return.
I can't believe it took me this long to write this review.
Lou's is hands down my favourite solo date spot on the island of Montreal. I've been here at least 10 times & it has never disappointed.
The lychee martini is incredible, the food is consistently delicious & I've tried a good chunk of the menu at this point. The chocolate cake dessert is a must.
The wait staff are always so kind & make solo dining feel genuinely comfortable & welcoming. The overall energy of this place is top tier every single time. Couldn't recommend it enough.
Had a really fantastic dinner here. Wonderful food - the striploin was seared medium rare to perfection, paired with delicious homemade fries, the brussel sprout appetizer & bread pudding dessert were also really tasty.
From the moment I walked in, I loved the decor & mood lighting. The restaurant was full of people which is always nice to see. Love the manager, she's always smiling & super helpful.
The tuna is a must as are the Parker rolls. The best way to eat here is to just share everything. The portion sizes are perfect for it. I'll be back again for sure!
Ps try the bread pudding for dessert !
Ça me donnerait peut-être l'envie d'y retourner.

I recently celebrated a friend's birthday at Louis Restaurant & it was an unforgettable experience. The eggplant Parm was delicious accompanied by a couple of excellent entrées. The drinks menu offered something for everyone & we thoroughly enjoyed our selections.
What truly made the evening special was the warm & welcoming ambiance. The staff were incredibly friendly & attentive without being intrusive. They surprised my friend with a birthday dessert which added a lovely touch to the celebration.
Perfect for special occasions or casual dining alike!
Very very very strong addition to the west island! Probably the strongest in my book. Packed on tuesday night (Says a lot), great food (highly recommend the aged steak), great drinks & make sure not to skip the homemade dessert (Awesome!). Koodos to the whole team, doing a great job!
Had such a lovely dinner at Lou's. Definitely recommend a reservation. Great atmosphere & service was lovely. It's so fun to have a nice spot in Point Claire. I died for the cocktails - they're amazing. The burger is perfect & the fries are SO good. Had the tuna carpaccio which is a must & for dessert the bread pudding is to die for. Definitely excited to come back.
Nice little restaurant with some delicious options. Sea bass was excellent, however the portion was quite small for the asking price. Appetizer of tuna was excellent however the $22 crab cake was over spiced, over priced & lacked the fresh taste of crab. All side dishes are an extra cost. The macaroni & cheese is very strong & their fries while tasty, are not evenly cooked so the majority were overdone. Dessert menu was lacking as they only had one option which was a type of pudding chomeur that resembled more of a piece of French toast with ice cream on top & caramel drizzle. Hopefully they add a coffee menu such as espresso & cappuccino since French press was the only option available. This restaurant is one room that holds about 50-60 people max so the atmosphere is quite loud with no option of reducing the noise. Thankfully, their staff is very professional & provides excellent customer service.

We have wanted to try Lou's out since they opened several months ago but were never able to snag a reservation (probably because we tried to late...obviously) but lady luck finally called in the new year & we got a table (bar only) at the beginning of January 2024. Although there are a number of restaurants in the Pointe Claire Village, Lou's has created both an elegant yet casual ambiance with a mixed Italian/American-style cuisine. After sitting us at the bar & placing our order, a table cleared & we asked to move to it which they happily agreed to...that's appreciated as many restaurants don't want to hassle with moving patrons to new tables. The menu is not extensive but I would say that all types of eaters can find at least one thing on the menu to enjoy. For our meal, we started with the Parker Rolls (good...but the portion was a bit on the small side) & Crab Cake (very good, excellent sauce but a bit on the pricey side for a single cake)...for our main we had the Pasta Genovese (excellent), Eggplant Parmigiana (it seems they fried the eggplant slices to be crispy before being baked...was excellent...highly recommend it) & a side of Creamed Greens (sounds weird, I know, but was actually quite good). When moving from the bar to the table there was an issue with timing of the main meal being delivered. Due to the delay, the manager complimented us with a tasty Strawberry Cookie dessert & a glass of Amara. Both of which were greatly appreciated & enjoyed as well. Service was very good & attentive & we never felt wanting. Although note that there is (currently) a draft due to a faulty door at the back that affects the left side of the restaurant (as you enter). It wasn't terrible but it was noticeable...just ask to sit on the right side if you can. The restaurant is very busy so reservations are highly recommended...at least several days in advance. Enjoy!
My husband & I really enjoyed our dining experience at Lou's in Pointe-Claire. The service was excellent & the lighting decor is warm... very nice atmosphere. A little on the chilly side due to the door opening right into the dining area. The beef tartare was nice, as was our pasta dish & striploin. The ONE thing this restaurant really needs to improve is dessert. Most diners expect more than one option, & if there's only one option, it's needs to be incredible. We had a basic chocolate cake (with sprinkles!), which fell flat for us. If that improves, it would be 5 stars for us.
