This was our second time dining at Lou's & somehow it was even better than the first! My husband & I sat at the bar & were lucky to be served by Evelyn, who was both our bartender & server. She was incredibly friendly, attentive & made custom cocktails for us based on our preferences. Each one was spot on! We also really appreciated that the kitchen was able to accommodate my husband's celiac without any issue. Great food, great drinks & even better service :)View more

Food was decent but didn't blow me away.
Service was incredibly slow…. Awkwardly so. We considered getting up & leaving because we didn't think we would ever be served. Seated at the table 25mins before our drinks were served. Orders were taken about 10 mins later. Food started to arrive just after an hour & 15 mins at the table…. (We ordered apps & salads).
The main dining room wasn't even close to being full so it's not like they were overly busy.
They only want to give you 2 hrs per seating but took 75 mins to get us our food.
The restaurant was extremely loud to begin with but it was compounded by the fact that the front door kept being opened & closed as the staff went outside to serve people on the patio. Every time the door opened & closed it slammed with a bang due to the pressure differential.
I won't go back…there are just too many other, better choices out there. It seems that there is a huge drop off in hospitality between restaurants in the West Island & downtown Montreal.View more

Years ago, I was wandering the dessert, on the brink of total exhaustion & desperate for water. Among the dunes, I stumbled upon a lamp. I rubbed the lamp three times. Suddenly, a blue genie emerged from the lamp, smiling down at me. He said,'I will grant you three wishes.' My throat impossibly dry, I replied:'I only need one wish: for there to be an actually good restaurant in the West Island of Montreal.'
The genie winked at me & nodded his head. I was transported to Pointe-Claire village in front of a magical place: Lou's. The drinks were phenomenal, cocktails of such high quality you would think you were at a bar downtown. The beer tartare was exquisite; the atmosphere cozy; the vibes immaculate. Maybe it was a dream, or a mirage - but the memory of Lou's earns 5 stars regardless.View more

I recently celebrated a friend's birthday at Louis Restaurant & it was an unforgettable experience. The eggplant Parm was delicious accompanied by a couple of excellent entrées. The drinks menu offered something for everyone & we thoroughly enjoyed our selections.
What truly made the evening special was the warm & welcoming ambiance. The staff were incredibly friendly & attentive without being intrusive. They surprised my friend with a birthday dessert which added a lovely touch to the celebration.

My friends & I ate there recently & the staff & food were amazing! Everyone was so kind & attentive, the decor was phenomenal & most importantly, the food was to die for. Highly recommend getting the tuna carpaccio & half chicken! Also need to mention the perfectly curated drink menu. The cocktails were great & the wine selection was very unique & clearly made with a lot of thought!View more

So so obsessed with this restaurant. The pasta was absolutely phenomenal. The fries & drinks were also delicious, as well as the oysters. We had Simon as our waiter & he was so kind & attentive. The service was also very quick. The restaurant is quick small so you are very close to your neighbour, which we did not mind at all. Would recommend to anyone & will definitely be coming back!View more

Heard good things about the restaurant so decided to try it when family was in town. Table of four sat at around 6pm. Greeted & seated right away but no drinks order taken for 10 minutes (we did get water). Eventually got drinks & gave our appetizer order (brioches & 12 oysters) & mains at the same time. Drinks were excellent although beer selection was poor due to lack of options. Then time slowed down, a table of 6 & 3 seated got seated near us. The table of 3 got their appetizers & mains before us & the table of 6 their appetizers. We ordered nothing that would indicate long wait times nor did the staff let us know of any delays. We had to ask were our appetizers where after 40 minutes but once they arrived were great, no issues! Brioche was excellent as was the butter & you can't really mess up oysters. We added fries to our order as they looked great on other tables. Received main meals at 1940, so 90 minutes after we arrived & a good 70-75 minutes after we ordered. One issue we had was partially our fault as the sea bass had a dairy based sauce & we never stipulated that the individual ordering it had a dairy allergy. They refired the meal & had it out in 8 minutes so great service there. Overall, meals were great, the demi poulet/chicken had some weird kale confection that was unappealing but the chicken itself was excellent. The eggplant parm & the seabass were very good choices. Not the best but very well done by any standard. We didn't complain but the restaurant was proactive & did comp us for some drinks & the fries stating that the service was not up to their standard. It would have been nice to have the delay(s) acknowledged before the bill arrived, but we did appreciate them acknowledging the fact the service was poor. Can't say we would ever go back & likely our bad experience was a one off but given the prices are a tad high for what they offer, I can't see us coming backView more

Very very very strong addition to the west island! Probably the strongest in my book. Packed on tuesday night (Says a lot), great food (highly recommend the aged steak), great drinks & make sure not to skip the homemade dessert (Awesome!). Koodos to the whole team, doing a great job!View more

Service was exceptional, drinks delicious, but unfortunately main course for 6 out of 7 diners was served cold. Furthermore, the dishes were not the same as earlier visits, not enough sauce in the pasta, salad leaves whole, no vinaigrette on half the salad, bread pudding underwhelming. Several diners had already been a few times, enjoyed their meals. Perhaps trying a new chef? We won't go again.View more

Good experience, however nothing to write home about just yet. I can see they are trying to do something different here. I get the new hype of having a hip downtown-like restaurants in the west Island but this isn't quite there yet. It's good, but really not worth the price. For a small piece of bass, 1 potato cut into 4 wedges & 5 brocolis ain't really worth the nearly $40 price mark. The tuna was great but the boat load of garnishes (3 different types of onions) really takes away from the dish. Ingredients wise in this case I believe less would have been more. Genovese was great no complaints there. The kitchen & mgmt needs to work on their dishes to make up for those prices. $200+ dollars for 3 drinks, 2 entrees & 2 mains didnt quite feel I got my money's worth TBH. With a few adjustments in time this place will thriveView more

Finally got to try Lou's, what a great addition to the village! The atmosphere was great, the staff was attentive & capable of accommodating a large group. I had the tartare & pasta genovese which were both excellent & so were the drink selections. Everyone at the table enjoyed their orders! Can't wait to go back & try more of the menu!View more

cool vibe, great atmosphere Me & my friend ordered 1 drink each, ordered our food & 30 minutes later, the power goes out. After waiting 45 minutes in the dark, the waitress comes & tells us that payment can only be made via cash or leaving a picture of a CC. I didn't have cash & was not comfortable leaving a picture of my CC so I asked to e-transfer. The manager came up & said etransfer is okay, charged us for our drinks + added tax + added an 18% tip without asking if it was okay. i obviously paid but was disappointed in this behavior & it left a bad taste in my mouth about the business of this restaurant.View more

I won't be going back. Was incredibly excited for it to open up, as I live in the area. Went tonight with a friend & we were completely rushed out the door. I wasn't even close to finishing my drink when the waitress came over to let us know we'd need to leave our table for future reservations. There was no one even waiting at the door. As we paid our bill, she reminded us again we'd need to vacate our table for future resos, despite the fact we were sitting next to an empty table. As we walked out there was still no one at the door. Great food & nice decor but terrible service that makes you feel unwelcome. Too bad as the village needed a new spot - I won't be going back there again with that horrible service.View more
