Review Summary

Lou's Restaurant is frequently described as a stylish and cozy destination in the West Island, celebrated by many for its flavorful signature dishes like the pasta Genovese, tuna carpaccio, and bread pudding. While numerous guests highlight the fantastic atmosphere, unique cocktail menu, and exceptionally friendly service provided by specific staff members, others report inconsistent experiences. Frequent mentions of loud noise levels, cramped seating, and long wait times for food occasionally overshadow the dining experience. Furthermore, while many patrons find the service top-tier and welcoming, some visitors have encountered issues with slow response times, perceived pressure to vacate tables, or inconsistent food portions, leading to a divide in overall satisfaction among the clientele.

The place is really nice & the staff is super great.
The dirty martini from lou's has its own twist that i highly recommend. The oysters are super fresh. I am not a huge fan of mignonette usually but they had a really great one. Honestly a great place for an evening drink & meal.

A great night until you get the $500 check & the waitress tells you that you have 15 mins to leave your table. We were not even there for 2 hrs. Very disappointed in our'local' resto

Had a fantastic evening group of seven ladies, & the experience was flawless from start to finish. Finding a spot that handles a larger group with such grace can be a challenge, but this restaurant nailed it.
Exceptional Service
The absolute highlight of our night was our server, Haylo. Managing a group of seven can be like herding cats, but Haylo was attentive, witty, & perfectly timed with every course. We never felt rushed, yet our glasses were never empty-truly top-tier hospitality that made us feel like VIPs.
The Flavors
We shared a variety of dishes & cocktails, & a few items truly stole the show:
• Rosemary Gin Fizz: This was a masterclass in balance. The piney fragrance of the rosemary paired beautifully with the botanical gin, making for a refreshingly sophisticated start to the evening.
• Pasta Genovese: Rich, savory, & deeply comforting. The depth of flavor in the sauce suggested a lot of patience in the kitchen; it was easily the table favorite.
• Roasted Half Chicken: It's rare to find a roasted chicken that is both incredibly juicy on the inside & perfectly crisp on the outside. It was seasoned to perfection & served as the ideal anchor for our shared meal.
Final Verdict
If you are looking for a place that combines a vibrant atmosphere with high-quality cuisine & service that actually cares, look no further. Whether you're a group of seven or a party of two, this place delivers. Ask for Haylo-you won't regret it!

I can't believe it took me this long to write this review.

Lou's is hands down my favourite solo date spot on the island of Montreal. I've been here at least 10 times & it has never disappointed.

The lychee martini is incredible, the food is consistently delicious & I've tried a good chunk of the menu at this point. The chocolate cake dessert is a must.

The wait staff are always so kind & make solo dining feel genuinely comfortable & welcoming. The overall energy of this place is top tier every single time. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The absolute best fine dining restaurant in West Island. Best burger, best striploin, best mayo, best bourbon salted caramel dessert & best scallops I've had in the whole Montreal region. Highly recommended. This restaurant is TOP quality. I barely write reviews but I had to for this restaurant.

Saturday, we were a family of 5 + child. An involuntary gasp escaped when I saw the price of our meal, especially with the quality of food. Salmon & chicken dishes were dry, three limp scallops (& plate) covered in tasteless moist bread crumbs (salt, pepper, seasoning?), Hollandaise sauce on 5-6 six-inch asparagus pieces ($23) was tasteless. The hamburger passed the taste lest at $28. A bottle of wine sat before us unopened until we went to the bar to ask for a corkscrew; a beer never arrived as well as a small morsel of bread while we waited for our meal. Question: Who are these people that have praised this restaurant? Answer: People with no taste buds.

I will go back 100% for drinks & the vibe, especially the terasse! But food wise, other than the bread (love the butter garlic spread) was wayyyy too pricey for what it is. A pasta plate (minus the crumble meat in the sauce) for 28 dollars with about 20 pieces of rigatoni…… my toddler eats more than that! I left still hungry. The person I was with had a tasty burger with a food portioned salad with no fries for the same price but they could of added the fries come on :)
