Lou's Restaurant is described across reviews as a cozy, stylish West Island spot with consistently high quality food, great drinks, and friendly, attentive service that makes it feel like a neighborhood gem. Diners praise a diverse menu with standout dishes such as tuna carpaccio, crab cake, beef tartare, pasta Genovese, and a variety of pasta options, along with brioche bread and a beloved bread pudding for dessert. The atmosphere is frequently called welcoming and intimate, suitable for date nights, family dinners, or private events in the downstairs room, though several comments note that the space can be very loud and noisy at peak times. Service is repeatedly described as courteous and knowledgeable, with many experiences marked by quick, efficient hospitality, while a few visits are tempered by slower pacing or uneven attention. Value and portion size receive mixed feedback, with some guests feeling meals are pricey or portions small for the price, while others find the offerings well balanced for the West Island. The kitchen is praised for thoughtful preparation and attention to detail, and the drinks program is highlighted as well curated and flavorful. Overall, the consensus is that Lou's Restaurant is a top local option, delivering memorable dining and a lively vibe, with minor caveats about noise, pacing, and value depending on the visit.
Downtown vibe but in the village. But very loud. The beef tartare, & crab cake were very good. Mac n cheese was a little dry. The burger was excellent. The sea bass was good but a small portion. The eggplant parmigiana was ok & the size was more of an entree than a main. The cocktails were also just ok.
It was exciting to go to a new place in Pointe-Claire. Nice decor but very loud. Perhaps it's the high ceilings or the open space dinning room but it was hard to have a conversation. The waitress had to speak soooooo loud it was almost a little aggressive. The steak & fries were overcooked. A simple menu & they can't even cook it right. 2/2 steaks were overcooked. & it's overpriced. Not impressed.
Finally got to try Lou's, what a great addition to the village! The atmosphere was great, the staff was attentive & capable of accommodating a large group. I had the tartare & pasta genovese which were both excellent & so were the drink selections. Everyone at the table enjoyed their orders! Can't wait to go back & try more of the menu!

Food is always very delicious & thoughtful, I especially love the sea bass. The onion dip is also very yummy. The service is friendly & attentive. The martinis are perfect.
My experience at Lou's was phenomenal! Highly suggest the place. Great staff & amazing food. We ate the Parker Rolls paired with the Scallops after a server had recommended that for starters. For the mains we ordered the Burger & the Ravioli & both were spectacular! The gin fizz & the Martinis kept us nice & refreshed.
Nice little restaurant with some delicious options. Sea bass was excellent, however the portion was quite small for the asking price. Appetizer of tuna was excellent however the $22 crab cake was over spiced, over priced & lacked the fresh taste of crab. All side dishes are an extra cost. The macaroni & cheese is very strong & their fries while tasty, are not evenly cooked so the majority were overdone. Dessert menu was lacking as they only had one option which was a type of pudding chomeur that resembled more of a piece of French toast with ice cream on top & caramel drizzle. Hopefully they add a coffee menu such as espresso & cappuccino since French press was the only option available. This restaurant is one room that holds about 50-60 people max so the atmosphere is quite loud with no option of reducing the noise. Thankfully, their staff is very professional & provides excellent customer service.
We LOVED our first experience at Lou's!!! Menu is small but you can find a bit of everything to satisfy everybody! Our server Lenny was excellent!!! She made a difference in our night out! Pasta Genovese were actually better than some pasta we had in Italy!! We'll be back real soon!

Très cher...très très ordinaire, je pensais vivre une expérience culinaire...mais Non Steak dur, dessert ne goûtait rien. Serveuse gentille & connaît son menu. Pour 200$ je préfère aller ailleurs
Good food & great service. The manager was very accomodating & welcoming. Had the pasta Cavatelli which was ok (sauce was a little watery) but the cheeseburger was fantastic. Also had the onion dip which was ok, but overpriced for what was essentially thin Ruffles chips & onion dip.
Honestly the food was amazing, the restaurant is so nice, amazing ambiance & our waitress Katia gave us one of the best service experiences ever. 10/10 recommend

cool vibe, great atmosphere Me & my friend ordered 1 drink each, ordered our food & 30 minutes later, the power goes out. After waiting 45 minutes in the dark, the waitress comes & tells us that payment can only be made via cash or leaving a picture of a CC. I didn't have cash & was not comfortable leaving a picture of my CC so I asked to e-transfer. The manager came up & said etransfer is okay, charged us for our drinks + added tax + added an 18% tip without asking if it was okay. i obviously paid but was disappointed in this behavior & it left a bad taste in my mouth about the business of this restaurant.
Great food .. pasta genovese was fantastic.. but a tad on the cold side. Not sure if it has maybe waited on the kitchen counter for one too many minutes though the service wasn't the fastest either. Maybe 1 waiter shorts as I think they were only 2. Restaurant itself was well designed & charming but room temperature a little on the cold side as my finger tips & toes felt it all night so wasn't necessarily the most comfortable dinner I've had. That being said the tuna carpaccio was fantastic & so was the beef tartare. Overall B+ for me
