In fall 2007, the chefs of Joe Beef restaurant opened a new restaurant, the Liverpool House, located next to the Atwater market and numerous antiquarians of Notre-Dame St. With a menu that changes every week, the Liverpool House offers seasonal dishes inspired by ingredients found in the market.
Overall, reviews portray Liverpool House as a refined yet welcoming spot with a warm, intimate atmosphere and a strong focus on bold flavors and careful technique. Diners repeatedly praise standout dishes such as beef tartare, steak frites, lobster pasta, and arctic char, along with reliable starters and desserts that elevate the meal. The beverage program is frequently highlighted, especially the wine and local beer options, which pair well with the menu. Service is described as attentive and knowledgeable on many visits, though several experiences note inconsistencies and occasional delays during busy periods. The setting is often lively but comfortable, with a terrace option and a vibe that can feel bustling or romantic depending on the night. Reservations are commonly advised, as tables fill up and some guests report longer waits or portions that fail to meet expectations for the price. If the kitchen or service falls short, pricing can feel steep, while many guests feel the quality justifies the cost on other nights. Although experiences vary, Liverpool House remains a top Montreal destination for a memorable, sophisticated dining experience.
Amazing place, perhaps one of the top 3 in Montreal. Authentic Canadian cuisine in its highest form. We were served wonderfully by Marius one of the managers. I would 100% recommend this place.
Excellent place for foodies like me! I went there for dinner last night & everything about this place is just great. The mood is nice & fun, the place was full even though it's a big space. The service is impeccable, our waitress was on point, very attentive & our table was kept clean & our plates were frequently replaced between dishes. I'd say it is rare to find this kind of service in Montréal ! & obviously, the food itself is delicious, we had the burrata & the salad as starters, the burrata was fresh & creamy & the salad was very savory. For the main dish we had the fish of the day, which was perfectly cooked & delicious as well. & finally we ordered the éclair glacée which was also a delicious treat! I highly recommend this place.

Do not get the lobster spaghetti 1/5 No taste of lobster & barely any lobster meat. Also the pasta used is equivalent of store bought barilla. Overpriced hype now. It isnt how it used to be. I knocked a star off for that reason alone especially because I know there are people who will come here looking forward to the lobster spaghetti alone The sweetbreads was the star of the show. Absolutely delicious, very much recommend. Flavourful & nicely cooked. Impeccable 5/5 !! Great service from the staff they are fantastic
Camille & Laura serve.. Period!. Service on point, atmosphere on point, food on point. Felt welcomed, & had the liverpool renowned experience. I Will Be Back!
This place clearly relies on its expired reputation to reel people in & serve plates that leave you scratching your head a little, trying to figure out the hype as you're chewing, trying hard to convince yourself there's more thought given to your dish than what your gut is telling you: this is average & overpriced. But if you like to drink, as many of their patrons do, I think you'll find everything tastes slightly better & the cost of the food is quickly eclipsed by some "special" pompous grape juice your waiter succeeded to hawk on your table, & hey, you had a good time so, YOLO?
Expérience incroyable au Liverpool, voisin du Joe beef & à mon avis assez similaire pour ce qui est de la nourriture & ambiance! Un gros WoW pour le smorgasbord & la casserole de ris de veau Je recommande sans hésitation!
