Discover Cambodian cuisine in this resto-bar located in Verdun. Located on one of the most beloved streets of Montreal, Street Monkeys is the perfect place to enjoy a dinner with friends or family.
Overall, reviews describe Les Street Monkeys as a vibrant spot offering inventive Cambodian-inspired cuisine with a strong emphasis on sharing plates, where many dishes and flavors are praised, from papaya salad and wasabi shrimp ceviche to stuffed wings, cod in coconut curry and other fusion twists. The service is repeatedly noted as attentive and friendly, and the bar program with cocktails earns frequent praise, along with a lively, colorful ambiance that is great for groups, dates, or casual nights out. A few comments point to small portions for the price and occasional inconsistency across dishes or noise level, and some diners note that tasting or fixed menus for larger groups can feel limiting. Nevertheless, the overall takeaway is a memorable, creative dining experience with high quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation, making it a go-to spot for exploring Cambodian-inspired flavors in a convivial setting.
La nourriture est délicieuse, cependant, nous avons été déçu de payer le ragoût à 20$ pour 5 petits morceaux de cubes de boeufs. Les 3 autres plats commandés étaient mieux.
We had a lovely time. Everything we ate was delicious. The server was especially wonderful! She was so warm, gracious, efficient & thoughtful. She really elevated the experience from just being a nice meal to feeling really welcomed & care for.
Very zen like environment, staff are polite & friendly & food, especially lamb chops were seasoned & cooked to perfection! Food is severed like tapas style so important to know . Enjoyable au bout!
As a group of 4 or more this place is a perfect for sharing plates. There were some clear favourite that everyone in the group wanted to try including the wasabi shrimp ceviche, fried chicken & beef noodles + waiter helped with plenty of suggestions according to our preferences. Most met the expectation or higher. Some dishes were less stand out (& very garlic forward) but overall very happy with the range of food options & left perfectly full!
While the food was delicious, the portions were really small & overpriced. I understand it's tapas but the price/size ratio was just not right. The service was ok until we had to pay. Tip starts at 18% When we chose the "other" option the waiter rolled his eyes, he was standing there just waiting to see how much we were tipping. Would be nice if they had a fairly priced menu because the food was actually tasty.
Food was great, especially the beef stir fried , insane! My only complaint is that we waited like 15 min to be seated after coming a couple minutes late to our reservation, no biggie. I would recommend this place 100% & would want to come back.
Moi & ma copine avons été servie par Hilary, super service! Toute l'équipe était bien sympathique & la nourriture excellente. Définitivement un coup de coeu
