Disappointing service & food for the money spent - in a cozy, classy setting since coming down from the top of Place Ville Marie.
Decided to try this new location with some friends visiting from Australia. Waiter dropped menus off for us & was pretty prompt in taking our beverage order. Cocktails & wines were on the high end of price, but we were going out so we splurged. The sparkling wine (Cava) I ordered was flat & at room temperature. Cocktails were tasty & well made. We ordered the French onion soup, the seared duck salad, & the shepherds pie. Food was delivered in a reasonably good time - but the soup was not super hot- neither was the shepherds pie. The main course did not come with any side, vegetables or options, & seemed as if it had been just put in the plate & reheated in a microwave, but not for long enough. There was also a lacking of pepper availability as we had to seek out the Peppermill, which was quickly whisked back away from hands of my guest after he had gotten a few grinds of pepper on the salad & main course. As we got our plates, I asked the waiter for the wine menu because I wanted to have a nice glass of red with the meal. He promptly dropped the wine menu at the table, but did not come back to take my order until my meal was about 3/4 eaten. The same happened with the dessert menus… He dropped the menus for us, but disappeared for 15 minutes & by the time he came back, nobody wanted dessert. Empty plates sat at our table a lot longer than they should have, & getting the attention of anyone of the servers was extremely hard. They were constantly walking by our table, but just weren't looking at us or making any eye contact. Finally since we gave up on making a dessert order, we just wanted to leave. Some high value upsell items' sales lost through inattentive serving staff. The steak size & portion for one of my guests was quite small steak & lots of fries. The shepherds pie seemed like just a lot of mashed potatoes with some pulled beef on the bottom, & we didn't find any corn or corn sauce as part of this menu item as indicated in the ingredients. The last time I had been to Les Enfants has been six years ago, & I had a whole different experience when it was at the top of place Ville Marie where it always seemed active & maybe a little more classy, with better trained & attentive staff, who had more personality & a bit more fun. Get more pepper grinders for the tables to use.

In 2 of the dishes ordered, the desired meat cooking was off. One was returned to the kitchen & returned adequately. The other was eaten as served. At the time of paying the bill they gifted us of dessert & a cocktail with apologies, after taking the time to inquire about our meal feedback. Valentin the waiter was very courteous & attentive. All in all a great evening, good atmosphere & service.

The food was amazing 10/10, i loved everything i ordered, the cocktails were amazing as well & the place too. The only thing i wasnt happy about was the service, at first everything was very good but then the waitress Shaima gave me & my girls bad looks. That completely ruined our first experience at the restaurant, i dont understand why she gave us bad looks that make us feel very uncomfortable because she keep being nice with everyone else.
This place is fantastic in many ways. The location is in the city's heart, with many spectacular Montréal landmarks. The food is fantastic. Ive tried several entrees: some brie cheese, bread with caramelized apples, onion rings, calamari. Oysters & French onion soup. I tried their soup of the day which was the potatoes & leek but it wasn't that great. The restaurant has a wide variety of cocktails, & drinks. They also many options for mocktails which are also delicious. My personal favorite is fuego fuego. Ive tried a few of their mains such as the duck poutine, shepards pie & rigontoni. The duck poutine is very rich & heavy but is not something you should pass on. The shepards pie is made with braised beef which was slightly chewy & there was more cream corn sauce than I expexted. Technically this would be a cow-pie & not a shepards pie since shepards don't heard cows. The rigontoni was well portion & very filling. I would have preferred less cheese but my partner enjoyed it. One of the best desserts I always go for a the pudding chomeur. You'll be in a state of ecstasy with every bite. The place is very well lit & large. I saw a variety of people from hockey fans, older & younger people celebrating different occasions. The bathrooms do needs to be checked more often since I had to go to three different stalls to find a cleaner option. Every time I've had dinner here the service has been fantastic. My last server Audrey was a stellar server & made my partner & my night that much more enjoyable I can't wait to go back.

We had enjoyed the restaurant on a previous visit but this time there were some issues with service. Martinis we not served dirty as requested or with Olives, one had ice in it. We received main courses & wine, before a second round of cocktails even though they were ordered at the same time. One of our entrees came 10 minutes after the others. Despite misstiming the orders, the servers were friendly, & the food was good so overall a fun night with friends.
Sat on the terrasse which was lovely. Our waiter was also very attentive & helpful. Cocktail was delicious & refreshing (Pamplemousse). However the food was very disappointing. I had the chicken burger & it was very over cooked/over fried to the point that it was crunchy through & through. My daughter had a the tuna tartare. The flavour was excellent but it was strangely sitting in a pool of sauce? Overall would recommend as a place to go for a drink & a snack, but would not recommend for a meal.
Booked for a brunch from 12 - 1 for 3 individuals for a birthday. We were a little late to arrive, at about 12:07. On arrival, the waitress said she had a great table for us but it had to be cleaned. The terrace was about half full but we wanted to be sat indoors. We had to wait 10 minutes for the table to be cleaned up, although half the restaurant was empty. Once we were seated, our waiter asked us if we wanted still or sparkling water (we opted for still) but once he left, he didn't return; another waiter (I assume the Maître d'Hote or floor manager) served us water & apologized for the wait, which was appreciated! When our original waiter returned, he took our drink & food orders. After leaving our table, it took quite another while before we had our drinks... When we got our cocktails, it was already about 12:40, & our food got to us at about 12:58pm. Seeing as I was on a lunch break, I asked the waiter to pay my bill so I could eat & leave as quickly as possible, & even paying took another 8 - 10 minutes before he returned with the mobile cash. All in all, the food was excellent & the location's really beautiful, wide & luminous but the service was pretty exceptionally slow. It didn't seem to be a staffing issue & the restaurant wasn't so overwhelmed... Regardless, I'll most likely be back but on a day where I have time to spare!
