Had the salmon tartare with truffle oil & unfortunately, it lacked flavour/seasoning. Did not get ant truffle taste from it, despite people saying great things about the dish! It was also extremely hot indoors (no AC?), which made it hard to enjoy meals & drinks. It would be good to have a water bottle/pitcher placed on the table as waiters were very busy. The star of the show was the pain perdu. It was delicious.
Délicieux. Très beau menu & carte des vins. Clientèle plutôt guindée.
Do yourself a favour & sit on the terrace if you want to have a conversation. Food was ok: complimentary bread was hard, crab cakes were good, hangar steak frites was a small 4oz but edible.
July 2024 - Well, in my last review, I said we would be back. We went back for our anniversary. The food was amazing as always. We each started with an appetizer. I had the Crab Cake, & my husband had the Foie Gras. The crab cake was served with a gribiche sauce & julienne cucumber salad. I wanted more. The Duck foie gras au torchon was served with a brioche bread & a feuit chutney. The fries Gras was absolutely amazing. It was so finely done that it melted in your mouth. The main dishes consisted of a Hanger Steak served with fries & a mustard mayo. The homemade Bloody Pudding was served with finely whipped celery root & a cider sauce. Wow. Believe it or not, we were so full, I guess because of the wine, we shared a Rum baba with chantilly cream & grapefruit ice cream. The service was on point, & all the servers were attentive, courteous, & friendly. This restaurant is not cheap. But the experience & food were well worth the price. Reservations are a must. We were there on a Tuesday & the restaurant, inside & out was full. Another must. 2016 - The food was excellent. We had the grilled octopus as an appetizer. I had the onglet of beef & fries. The steak was cooked to perfection. My husband had the blood sausage. He said it was the best he ever had. The decor is nice but it is a bit noisy. Reservations are required because it is a small restaurant. Will go back.
Thé filet mignon & fries is excellent. I did not love the jus on the side. The fennel salad with baby roquette & Parmesan, excellent. So simple yet so delicious. Our amazing server Andres recommended the mushroom & asparagus risotto, excellent. It was so wonderful that I kept eating long after I was full. Friendly, helpful & professional service. Reserve if you want to go, on a Tuesday evening it was busy.
Toujours bon, toujours impeccable. Le service est toujours hyper chaleureux & dynamique. On y mange bien. Un classique qui garde ses standards élevés.
Pay your servers more or train them not to rudely force customers give them a high tip, or any tip (if the customer chooses not to tip). Food was great, but the service we got was slow, & we always had to call our server or another server to assist us, take our order, ask for cheques, etc... After all that, we split the bill on 2, & one of us paid a 15% tip (server didn't deserve any tip) while the other put zero. The server told the person that didn't tip there must be a mistake, the tip shows $0. He started lecturing the person on how customers typically tip 15-18%, & kept pushing for him to tip, saying his pay depends on it.
The food was very good, I ordered the steak frites with wine. However, the service wasn't the best & it took quite long to get our food...
Food was a little simply cooked. I ordered the lamb & it was a little bland. Although, everything was nicely cooked & service was excellent.
My dining experience at Restaurant Leméac in Montreal was absolutely outstanding! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the elegant yet cozy ambiance. The service was impeccable, with attentive & friendly staff making sure every need was met. I had the poached eggs with smoked salmon, & it was simply divine. The eggs were perfectly poached, & the smoked salmon added a delightful, savory touch. The flavors were beautifully balanced, & the presentation was top-notch. The attention to detail & quality of ingredients at Leméac truly set it apart. It's clear that the chefs take great pride in their craft. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic meal in Montreal. Five stars all the way!
