As part of a weekend to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we were looking for a suitable eatery for the occasion & entrusted Le Roux with making our experience a memorable one. We took time to indicate the milestone when filling out the reservation form & looked forward to our first visit at this handsome Bromont wine bar/restaurant open since 2023.
The food gets a solid 4/5 based on the various dishes selected & the wine list was impressive. As for prices, expect to spend $100+ pp. The service, though adequate , lacked attention to a rather important detail in that there was absolutely no acknowledgment of our special occasion at any point during our visit. Not so much as a basic'Happy anniversary!'. Nada. I immediately felt a sense of buyer's remorse that was about to deepen.
We mentioned the apparent oversight in the feedback form the following day & their response to the requested feedback has generated some interesting discussions among foodie friends. For many restaurants, the mere mention of a special occasion in the comments section of a reservation form is enough for staff to understand the assignment & show appropriate hospitality (eg complementary drinks /dessert) This place has a different approach & said that they stopped the practice of doing something extra, like including a candle with dessert, because more than half of the customers for whom they did so were upset by such thoughtful gestures. It's hard to imagine what the alleged complaints might've been about ('How dare you offer us a glass of bubbly to toast our anniversary or dessert for my birthday !', said nobody ) but here we are. The owner responding to our feedback closed by saying they'd gladly have done something special had we done more than merely mention it was our 20th wedding anniversary & specified how we wanted them to go about that bit of hospitality - an area with which we assumed they'd be familiar. In other words, we dropped their ball. Phooey!
PS Another of the owners replied thanking us for taking the time to provide feedback & said they'd look into the matter. A friend from NYC, where hospitality culture is a different beast, pointed out that we still hadn't been wished a happy anniversary by anyone from the place. An astute observation to be sure, but you can't get blood from a stone.

Wow ! Il faut le trouver mais sa en vaut la peine, cacher dans le outlet deriere l'hotel Vallea a Bromont, tout une découverte. Acceuil chaleureux, beau restaurant grande terrasse a l'arriere tres relaxe comme ambiance avec portion au soleil ou ombragé. Le service y est exceptionelle de la part de tout les employés. Aucun client oublié, aucune plaintes, tout les clients sont souriants & agréablement surpris... ca fait tres tres longtemps que je n'est pas vue une tel satisfaction de la part de tout les gens autour de moi...
Menu agréable, a souligner le Crabe Cake & ses accompagnements. Le thon également en entrée manque un peut de' kick' en plat principale pizza smoked meat en special correct mais pas trop souvent j aurais du rester sur ma premiere idée la Margherita, pate EXCEPTIONELLE, la meilleur que j ai gouter depuis 20 ans. Parfaitement cuit au four a bois. La biere est tres fraiche & servie a bonne temperature. Bar a vin excellent choix & prix. Experience que je reccommande fortement

Une expérience culinaire mémorable à Bromont !
Nous avons découvert Le Roux hier soir & ce fut un vrai coup de coeur du début à la fin. L'ambiance chaleureuse, le service attentionné, & surtout… la cuisine, absolument remarquable.
Mention spéciale à l'entrée phare : les choux de Bruxelles rôtis, accompagnés d'un aïoli à la fleur d'ail, miel & pistaches. Une véritable explosion de saveurs en bouche, parfaitement équilibrée entre le croquant, le sucré & le salé. Une entrée qui mérite à elle seule le détour !
Côté plats principaux, tout était maîtrisé :
- Les tagliatelles au canard confit, nappées d'une sauce aux champignons riche & onctueuse - du réconfort dans l'assiette.
- L'onglet de boeuf, cuit à la perfection, accompagné de légumes rôtis & de frites maison croustillantes - un classique revisité avec finesse.
Une adresse qui marie parfaitement créativité, qualité des produits & souci du détail.
Bravo à toute l'équipe du Roux ! On reviendra sans hésiter !

JB was incredible. He's the owner & we had the pleasure of being served by him. The vibe was amazing - we came on a Saturday night when the DJ was playing. Every dish we had was delicious. If you're looking for a top notch culinary experience in Bromont, look no further. Le Roux is it!!!

Wow, quelle belle découverte, un véritable coup de coeur. Nous étions de passage dans la région & nous avons choisi cet endroit par hasard. Magnifique soirée! Le service était attentionné, efficace, très professionnel. Employés souriants, d'une grande gentillesse. Ambiance parfaite. Nos plats, huîtres, tataki de thon & tartare de filet mignon, étaient succulents!!! Excellents choix de vins au verre & ceux dégustés, tous excellents!

La Roux in Bromont is what happens when a restaurant gets everything right-stellar service, breathtaking views, & a great menu that makes you consider relocating just to be closer to it.
We arrived as a family of five-my wife, three young daughters (6, 4, & 2), & myself-right at opening (4 PM). Met with a warm smile, we were seated in a private corner with panoramic views of Bromont Mountain, making us feel like VIPs without the hassle of fame. Parking? Plenty & convenient-always a win when traveling with kids.
Impressive drink menu. A strong cocktail list for the grown-ups & perfectly chilled Templetons for the kids. Classy.
Tuesdays mean $1.50 oysters, & who are we to argue with destiny? We ordered 18, & they arrived fresh, cold, & flawless, straight from Nova Scotia. Served with mignonette & hot sauce-simple, elegant, & the perfect start.
Next up, the tuna tataki-a delicate sear, beautifully plated with wasabi cream & diced beets, a balance of heat & sweetness.
The mushroom cream pasta was decadent, rich, & packed with umami, though a slice of toasted bread would have been a welcome companion to mop up that luscious sauce. Still, a winner.
For the kids: a plate of fries-golden, flavorful, though I prefer mine with a bit more crispiness (but let's be honest, they didn't last long). The pepperoni pizza? Perfection. A tangy, well-balanced sauce, beautifully crisp-yet-chewy crust-one of those'one bite, everybody knows the rules' kind of pizzas.
The real MVP? Katerine, our server-gracious, knowledgeable, & the kind of person who makes a meal memorable. Her recommendation of a dry Alsace Riesling was spot on-bright, crisp, & perfect alongside our seafood & pasta.
An early dinner that hit all the right notes. Highly recommend La Roux for families, date nights, or anyone who just appreciates great food in a stunning setting. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the à la carte offerings.

Une très belle découverte. De passage à Bromont en famille (11 personnes). Les cocktails, toutes les entrées, les plats principaux très variées, ont été savoureux & copieux. Le service impeccable & attentionné. Un bijoux de restaurant à Bromont.

Curieux !? 🤔 Ce restaurant peut être excellent & moins bon dans la même soirée selon des personnes d'un même entourage ! Mon repas à moi était divin (un 5 étoiles ⭐) 😋 & le repas aux personnes qui étaient avec moi un vrai flop 😕 ! Commençons par ce qui a été divin 😋 : Le cocktail Le St-Germain🍹 Spritz (avec du soda & de la liqueur de sureaux & ....) ! & le vin orange 🍷aussi ! L'entrée de boudin noir avec beurre de poires & des poires 🍐 poêlées ! Le plat principal : le tartare de bar (poisson blanc cru) avec une émulsion à la mangue servit avec frites maisons & salade ! Le dessert : la mousse Key Lime ! & l'autre dessert de quelqu'un de mon entourage : le brownies au chocolat & aux noix de grenobles & crème glacée ! 😋 Pour ce qui a été un désastre pour les autres personnes qui étaient avec moi : Le repas de poulet frit 🍗 ! 😕 La salade de choux était trop épicée de poivre de Cayenne & la panure du poulet frit était brûlée & trop épicée ! & personnes n'a pu même décrire les épices du poulet ? 🤔 ( cajun ? 🤔 portugaise ? 🤔 indienne ? 🤔 mexicaine ? 🤔 brésilienne ? 🤔 italienne ? 🤔 ou ? 🤔 ) !? 🤔 Pour ce qui est des frites un peu moins cuites & elles seraient meilleures ! L'ambiance est très belle & même un peu festive ! & Comme vue on a le Mont Bromont 🏞 ! 😊 Il y a aussi une terrasse quand le temps est beau ! Il y a aussi une grande cave à vins alors pour ceux & celles qui sont amateurs ou amatrices de vins celà peut être intéressant ! La serveuse était très aimable ! 😊 & on pouvait prendre des pommes 🍎 gratuites de leur verger en sortant du restaurant ! 😊

Le Roux in Bromont offers exceptional food, & drinks. The burrata with peaches, tomatoes & pecans, sparks a palette party. I would highly recommend. After having spent a few years in the UK, black pudding had grown to be a favourite. JB has done an exceptional job at raising the bar in North America, for a black pudding dish, I would keep coming back for, hands down. With an amazing atmosphere & service to boot, I'll definitely be back.
