Unbeatable experience for Ethiopian food. The atmosphere of the place & the presentation of flavours are all perfect.
Personally I think the tasting menu is the way to go, you get to experience a little bit of everything. We had it for 3 people & it was delicious. The cocktails were nice too.
I had one drink + the tasting menu, & paid $66 after tip. The price point is higher than other spots, but it really is a beautiful space, well made good & excellent service. Worth going!

This was my third time going. Since learning about Le Nil Bleu it has become a must go restaurant every time I come to Montréal. Food is fabulous, service is always really nice, atmosphere is relaxed & fun. If I had any complaint, it would be that some of the tables can be a bit crowded, but it's a small restaurant, which is part of the charm, so it's no big deal. I only mention it because I am 6 feet four inches tall (1.93m) so with some tables my chair feels like I'm in the way, but it has never seemed to be a problem to staff or others, so maybe I'm just over thinking it? Upshot is, this place is absolutely wonderful. Also, don't sleep on their speciality cocktails. I'm particularly fond of the Mango Mule.

Un accueil chaleureux, une décoration douce, une musique sublime, le paradis pour le palais avec le mélange des épices berbères sans oublier la présentation recherchées des plats. Une équipe attentionnée, toujours aux soins des clients. Cela a été une soirée merveilleuse...le paradis. Un moment inoubliable , je vous le recommande!
We ordered the vegan tasting sampler for two. There were four smaller appetizers & five larger mains. We loved all of the appetizers but were not as keen on the mains. To be fair, I think the meat tasting menu would have been better & I was keen to try it, but my dining companion wanted the vegan so I agreed. I'm sure the food is worth five stars but I'm just not vegan.
One of the best meals I've ever had. If you're in Montreal & haven't been here, you are missing out. If you're thinking of coming to Montreal, this should be the reason why. Go for the tasting menu, because everything they have is 10/10. 5 star service. Our waiter set us up with a great pairings & took great care of us all evening
C'est toujours extrêmement agréable de se sentir accueillis, reconnus lors de notre arrivée. C'est un lieu où nous aimons inviter nos amis. Une cuisine parfumée & délicieuse, une atmosphère à la fois douce & intense.
I had the saute sole fish filet (yeassa watt) & the spinach sauteed with onions & garlic (Gommen) which was very good. The Injeria was nice, but I got full fast from the bread. Wish I had someone else to share the Injeria with. Sadly, I couldn't finish it all by myself. The fish was nice & lite, not spicy for me. The spinach was nice as well. The service was great. Very attentive staff. I received a nice hot towel for my hands as a refreshment before the start of the dish. Very nice service.
A bunch of friends got together for a meal. We all hadn't been to Nil Bleu in years. It was unanimously a great meal, excellent food, service & atmosphere. Highly recommended.
