Review Summary

Diners describe Le Gourmand as delivering delicious, well presented dishes, a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, and attentive service, with standout items including terrine, the mushroom entree, shrimp and scallops, veal scallopini, duck, and desserts like creme brulee and profiteroles. While opinions are largely positive about the food and ambience, some visits are noted as pricey for the quality and portions, and a few reviewers mention inconsistent service, long waits, or noise on the terrace. A few dishes sparked mixed feedback, such as crab cakes tasting like tuna salad, and several guests feel the value varies with the experience. Overall, Le Gourmand is described as a reliable, often memorable spot that regulars look forward to returning to for refined dishes in a warm setting.

This is a special spot on the West Island of Montreal. We recently took 12 guests who had expressed the desire for local Quebec cuisine. They were not disappointed! The attention to the little details, the food was delicious, tasty with beautiful aromas. Selection of wine is ample. It's a hidden gem & a great spot for all sorts of entertaining or a special date night. The historical house makes it even more special, you can really sense the history. During the summer of the patio is a great size with awning & flowers throughout. Summer nights make it a spot not to be missed. For those looking for a quick bite & a drink, there's a small bar area with top shelf Spirits. Over the last 25 years we've always enjoyed visiting with family, bring people for business when possible & when in Montreal. It's always a short hit, with people wanting to go back. Thank you to chef Sean & MICHAEL & Jessica for the hospitality.

Though not my first time here, I celebrated a milestone birthday this February. My friend & I were not disappointed. The staff, the service, the food...💯%.
Started off with a nice bottle of wine. The terrine & the mushroom entrée were outstanding. My friend & I both had the shrimp & scallops. The sprouts could have been a little crunchier for our taste, but overall, delicious. To finish off, our crème brûlée topped off a fantastic meal.
I will definitely come back for my next big 0

For a restaurant of this price point, I found the service & guest experience quite mediocre. Let me list you a few reasons why:

1) There was no hostess or anyone greeting us at the door. I was waiting there for 5 minutes until I had to wave down a server & ask if where I was standing was in fact the hostess stand.

2) The table d'hôte menu did list enough information regarding the choices. The server was left having to explain & present too much information that left the guest forgetting what was presented. The presentation of missing table d'hote information took approximately 2 whole minutes.

3) When asked if we'd like anything to drink, we responded yes, & requested 2 glasses of wine. The wine took 15 minutes to arrive at the table.

4) There was no check up done to ask if the food was to my liking after the first or second course of my table d'hote, only the main course.

5) I was not offered another glass of wine.

6) After finishing my coffee, 15 minutes elapsed & I was not asked if I wanted anything else or my bill. I had to to the bar inside (we were on the terasse) & the bartender had to go drag the server out from the kitchen where she was hanging out.

Having said this, the atmosphere was great & the food was well prepared.

Charming restaurant that's been around for over 25 years. The staff is friendly, attentive & fun. The food is delicious & the cocktails are generous. Great wine selection & the table d'hôte is a great value. The fried chicken is excellent & a must try. It's a landmark in pointe-claire village & you'll need a reservation (ask for the bar if you like to socialize).

Beautiful old stone house. Food was okay. I had mussels in white wine which would have been great with garlic, lemon, & thyme. It had no seasoning except for wine & butter as far as l could tell. Also had the soup du jour which was called minestrone but it had no garlic or oregano or bay leaf or any seasonings actually. It was very tomato-y with vegetables & it was not very good. I am a garlic lover so the two dishes that l ordered were garlic free do l was quite disappointed & found the dishes lacking. The stone house & terrace are beautiful & service was very good.
