Obsessed. two words: miso oysters. to die for.

A great night out. We had their oysters as a starter - 3 different kinds. Plain, crackling maple & miso au gratin, & it was hard to decide which were the best. Then we shared an off-menu plate of gnocchi that was to die for. For main courses I had an Icelandic cod with truffles that was incredible & my partner had a melt-in-your mouth beef cheek. Dessert was a delicious maple square.

They don't advertise much as it seems they have enough of a loyal following to stay busy every night & to catch the attention of Michelin.

Easily the best value culinary experience in Montreal. The miso-gratin oysters are to die for & the service is nothing less than extraordinary. Already been a few times now & will definitely be returning more especially as their menu is always changing & never fails to wow me.

Nous y étions hier soir pour l'anniversaire de mon chum.
Super ambiance & service.
Nous avons commandé les 6 huitres en entrée & celle au Miso etait parfaite: gratinee à souhait. Celle au jalapeno/erable etait delicieuse, mais nous avions pas l'impression de manger une huitre, le gout de celle-ci etait masquee.
La texture de la salade/ wonton décomposé était super. Le poisson était servi avec huile de sésame. C'était simple, mais bon.
Le ceviche lait coco/mousse de coriandre était gouteux, mais des saveurs que nous avons déjà goute auparavant. la mousse de coriandre était fade, nous n'avons pas ete epate par le melange de saveurs.
Les linguinis a l'encre de seiche étaient cuites à perfection. Un petit gout épicé venait masquer le goût des fruits de mers & la bisque de homard.
Le plat de canard a été servi tiède. La bouchée avec l'agrume était bonne & relevait le gout. La sauce sucrée style à l'orange etait bonne - la purée de celeri-rave etait un peu liquide.
D'emblée c'était bien, mais il manquait de saveurs & de complexité aux plats. Nous nous attendions à une meilleure créativité culinaire.
Je ne crois pas que nous reviendrons, mais avons quand même apprécie notre soirée. 🙂

Loved my time here - we got seats by the counter which gave us a great view of the kitchen. The service staff were fantastic - professional, helpful, & friendly. The food was great with the standouts being the miso oyster (my favorite bite in Montreal) & the honey cake dessert. We spent about 300 for two people (including tip) & reservations were required. Will definitely be back next time!

Easily in the conversation for the best restaurant in Montreal... I visit probably 4-6 times a year & it never misses.. The miso gratin oysters ARE the best app in the city, prove me wrong. Staff & service is as strong as the food.

Finally had the chance to try the famous restaurant where you go after your tennis session. It is also a place I highly recommend if your looking for the best service in town & the best variety of fancy plates. Going there, we tried a lot of what is offered on the menu. To start, we ordered the miso gratin oysters. These are one the best things I tried in my life. It is a perfect combination of sweet & sea taste. After, we tried the cold corn soup with foie gras. It was very unctuous & fresh. We then ordered the octopus plate & the wagyu tataki. The octopus was not to squeaky & not to hard, perfectly smooth when we bit it. The wagyu was nothing to special but it was well cooked (medium rare). Moreover, we ordered the linguine plate, the lobster pastas plate & the gemilli pastas plate. All three were amazing. The linguine plate was not as good as the Daily catch restaurant do it but take it if you're an amateur with this kind of plate. I didn't really taste the lobster in the pastas but the sweetbreads that comes with it are my second favorite thing I ate between all the plates we ordered. The veel cheek that came with the gemelli pastas was very tender & tasty. Finally, I tried the maple syrup square as dessert. It was very simple but very comforting & not to heavy.

Le meilleur restaurant à Montréal. On se fait toujours bien recevoir & la nourriture est toujours délicieuse. Les gemillis à la joue de veau braisée & les huîtres au miso are to die for.

J'adore ce restaurant & j'y vais le plus souvent possible pour la qualité exceptionnelle de sa nourriture (huîtres Miso, hamachi, tartare de thon au sésame), du personnel connaissant mais sans snobisme (maîtres d'hôtel chaleureux, pas de jeunes serveurs(euses) sexy(e)s sans compétences & sans entregens) & de la carte des vins d'importation privée maîtrisée par le personnel.
