Great neighbourhood bar for us that live on the Plateau. I like the place most when it's not really busy, but during the Thursday, Friday & Saturday afternoons/evenings it's going to get busy & loud. If you're meeting friends there, like I said, nice place, but too loud for discussions. More of a party bar when later in the evening. I've eaten there twice & I will not do that again. Surprised how they represent the kitchen as a part of the place & it's not really good.
Then the beer. I always go for the draught beer & I have to admit that I'm disappointed in the Boréale selection they have, which I have to admit I don't like at all, but I have noticed that more & more pubs in the area offer this beer which is so far from a proper European beer & it's a bit sad to think about what beer drinkers here are missing out on.
Visited on September 19, 2021, in late afternoon. This place, located on Saint-Laurent & Marie-Anne, in front of Parc des Portugais, has been opened since 2017 & I'm the first Ratebeerien to rate this place (& to add stuff), so what is so special about Darling, cider! A friend of former Ratebeerien TaktikMtl told him about this place, we meet (for the first time since de pandemic) & when we saw the menu, wow! Eleven ciders on tap, the most I've see was four, plus a good bottle selection. A pretty good beer selection on tap & bottles & cans, some are imported. There other speciality is oysters, in fact it the first thing you see on their menu before the ciders. They also have cocktails, a barista & a small food menu. The inside is very eclectic, seating for just drinking or having a meal, there is a round bar, mismatch decor. The place is just cool.
Highly Recommend!! Everything about this place is charming!! Sit at the bar, lean back ;) try it, grab a book, a beer, a coffee, or a smoothie, & enjoy friendly service too!! We just stopped in for drinks, but the food looked great as well & we loved the atmosphere!
If you are looking for a friendly & cozy place in Montreal, you found it! A wide choice of drinks: lots of ciders, cocktails & beers. The food is also pretty good. I recommend the ribs. The desserts all looked good too but I haven't tried. The music isn't too loud & the place is big but often full. There are a few places outside too but on st Laurent boulevard. The service was a bit slow, especially to order but this place s definitely has a vibe!
Nice atmosphere but bad food & service.We went there as3 friends . The atmosphere was overall good & rustic . Unfortunately, our the food experience was bad. We ordered beers , cheeseburger , Bailey's & french fries were overcooked & burnt. Therefore, we mentioned it to the waitress by pointing out our plate. She didn't even bother herself to say sorry. She was super angry & took the plate & brought the second fries again burnt same . Consequently, we refused the pay tips & she asked us the reason why we didn't pay the tips. We said " The food was burnt." She said " It is not about my service ." This is unacceptable ! If the plate is not okay especially for the second time ,it is the server's duty to forward the burnt food to the kitchen & or the chef. Please show more responsibility to the plates & respect to the customers.

We were here, drank two beers, & they only charged us for one! Maybe the thought my boyfriend was cute? We couldn't figure out if the dress code was "modern day gypsy" or "Mafioso's gay son". 13/10
Excellent selection of beer & cocktails in a beautiful atmosphere! Generally, it's a bit too trendy for my tastes & I wouldn't bother waiting with the crowd who frequently lines up to get in, but the summer patio out front is nice.

Literally my favorite spot/bar in the city. I've been here countless times. Whether it's for a business lunch, date, drinks with friends or simply to work this place is a vibe for every occasion! The food is always on point, they have a huge variety of wines & beers. & the decor & service is always on point. BEST bar the city 👌🏼
