A very intelligently crafted menu- the blend & choice of ingredients- meat, seafood with ample use of vegetables & fruits in every dish!
Very unique blends per dish but, came together beautifully-especially the aged New York strip with Foie Gras, Nettles, Dandelion jus & sunflower seeds, the tart with liver mouse, the Sea Urchin dish (right level of saltiness), & the baked Saffron custard with an indoor grown Rhubarb! Was a feast to the taste buds!
The service was impeccable with an inviting ambience.
Wil definitely be back! Thank you, Chef & the staff :) Delightful experience overall.
Should be in competition for a Michelin Star. Keep up the good work!View more

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dining at Restaurant Lawrence is an exceptional experience that showcases the best of Quebec's local ingredients & carefully crafted flavors. Every dish is made in house or sourced with the best care, reflecting a deep respect for the ingredients & dedication to quality. 📌Scallop Crudo with carrot escabeche, ginger, & lime leaf: fresh & flavorful. 📌Raw Beef with anchovy, suet bun, & castelfranco: An unique & savory bite. 📌Chicken Liver & Heart Double Ravioli with yellowfoot chanterelles & artichoke: A delightful combination of earthy & rich flavors. 📌Kohlrabi Tortelli with sea urchin & cider: A creative blend of textures & a highlight on the menu. 📌Grilled Lamb with morcilla, borlotti beans, & pepperoncini: Perfectly seasoned & tender. 📌Bluefin Tuna Belly with whelks & matsutake rice: The whelks stole the show with their briny, sweet, & meaty texture. For dessert, the 📌Frozen Sheep's Milk Yogurt with roast quince, saffron, & walnut was earthy, delicate, & quickly became a favorite. The 📌Cru Berger with apple tarte tatin & guanciale offered a delightful twist on a classic!! Lawrence's sophisticated tasting menu truly enhances the dining experience. Their approach to whole animal butchery, seasonal vegetables, & refined presentation makes this a must visit for anyone seeking thoughtful, high quality cuisine.View more

My recent dining experience at Lawrence in Montreal was nothing short of incredible-easily one of the best meals I've had this year. The menu showcased a range of exquisite dishes, each more delightful than the last. Highlights of the Meal: Lobster: Perfectly cooked, the lobster was succulent & flavorful, setting a high bar for the evening. Lamb & Anchovy Tartare: A unique & delightful combination, the tartare was a standout dish, expertly balancing the rich lamb with the briny anchovies. Zucchini Flowers Stuffed with Chicken Offal: This dish was a revelation, with the delicate zucchini flowers providing the perfect vessel for the rich & savory chicken offal. Sea Urchin Pasta: A luxurious & creamy dish, the sea urchin pasta was an umami bomb, leaving a lasting impression. Wine Pairing: The sommelier took a refreshing & interactive approach to wine pairing, asking for our preferences & suggesting a range of wines that complemented our meal beautifully. The selection included a notable emphasis on Austrian wines, which were a delightful discovery & paired perfectly with the diverse flavors of the dishes. Ambiance & Service: The restaurant's ambiance was warm & inviting, with an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The service was impeccable, with attentive & knowledgeable staff who enhanced our evening with their passion for food & wine. Overall, Lawrence exceeded all expectations, delivering a dining experience that was both innovative & deeply satisfying. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable meal in Montreal.View more

Sea Urchin Linguine! With no expectations, we taxied to Lawrence. Our reservation had a few minutes, & as we strolled the neighborhood, it looked familiar. We've been on the same block several times. Huh? In three days, 70% of our vacation was spent on two blocks. Lawrence is tiny, seven two tops & a large bar. You can stick your nose into the kitchen. It's right there. Sea Urchin Linguine! We took two seats at the bar, & realized, although small, Lawrence is designed beautifully. It never feels snug, just cozy, enveloping you in a comforting blanket of graciousness & warmth. Lainie & Anna took special care of us, Lainie a well versed, gregarious sommelier, & Anna a purveyor of the love of food & hospitality. Sea Urchin Linguine! I started with the lobster with green asparagus, a wonderful palate cleanser. Our other appetizer was the zucchini blossoms with smoked chicken offal, which was scrumptious. For our entrees, we both ordered the SEA URCHIN LINGUINE. I fell in love & Lawrence provided a memory that will remain forever, like the pasta buttons at Metamorphosi in Rome, the cacio e pepe at Aimo e Nada in Milan, & the risotto at Vecchia Lanterna in Turin. My taste buds were delirious, & I was in a culinary hallucination. For dessert, my spouse ordered the tarte tatin, with a soft fromage on top, & guanciale, a cured pork jowl. What sounds weird was out of this world delicious . I chose for my dessert SEA URCHIN LINGUINE! I didn't want my love affair to end. La Dolce Vita. We loved everything about Lawrence, & I will miss it like a paramour from days past. The memories will remain.View more
