Review Summary

Reviews of Larry's describe a small, cozy spot with a casual yet lively vibe, a strong brunch appeal and a menu that ranges from vegetables and fish to meat, with standout bites like ceviche, a squash dish, beef tartare, cornbread and a memorable banoffee dessert; portions tend to be small and prices can feel high for the size, though many note the quality and freshness of ingredients make the dishes worth savoring. The service profile is mixed, with some praising friendly, attentive staff and a convenient no tipping or included gratuity model, while others report cold or scattered service, long waits to clear tables and inconsistent attentiveness. The atmosphere is often described as approachable, moody or intimate, occasionally crowded, and the overall experience is frequently tied to the brunch and small plates format, with compliments for the fries, oysters, tartare and the savory components, and some criticisms about overcooked items or bland chimichurri. In sum, Larry's is seen as a beloved, high quality option for brunch and shared plates in a lively setting, but price and service consistency can be a turnoff for some diners.

Larry's never misses…great food, wine, atmosphere. Attentive yet un-intrusive staff. This is a gem in Mile End.

Stone cold classic. Best breakfast sandwich in Montreal. Heavy on veg dishes & awesome natural wine selections.

Popped in for a glass of wine & a few bites - the polenta was so tasty. Hannah served us & was so lovely & gave us great recommendations for our weekend in MTL!

Nice small plates to share. The best coffee, great wine list. Delicious brunch. They have it all. You can't go wrong here.

I just had the sweetest time at Larry's! The tartare was to die for-so fresh & tasty. I paired it with a lovely glass of wine that made my heart sing. The cozy vibe & friendly staff made it feel like a warm hug. Can't wait to go back for more!

I ate at the bar here for a late afternoon meal before heading to the airport. The vibe was lovely, the service was friendly, & it was a great spot to post up, read & have a meal by yourself. I would come back here when I come back to Montreal & try more food items. All of their wines are natural wines, which I love.

Everything hit with our dinner order this past week. I thought it was all delicious & the wine selection was great. The Heirloom Tomatoes + Anchovy were perfectly salted & balanced with olive oil. Really delicious & fresh. Kedgeree was something completely new to my knowledge & it was really delicious. Think, curry flavored rice with flaky fish. The tomato added sweetness, really delicious! The pork chop was also good as well. Sous vied, so perfect interior. A bit rough at some points but the sage leaf + sauce combo made up for it. As a 24 y/o, I've never heard of piquette wine & now I'm a huge fan. If they still have it, it's perfect for summer / tail end of summer. If you're super hungry & come here, expect a hefty bill. We were just peckish & spent $100CAD.
