I've been going to La Sirène for over 20 years & it has never once disappointed. This restaurant is truly exceptional & has become a real Montreal institution.
The food is always outstanding - incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, & remarkably consistent. Their fish market is easily one of the best in Montreal, offering exceptional quality seafood every time.
What also makes this place stand out is the service. Many members of the staff have been there for years, & they are incredibly attentive & well-trained. They genuinely remember their clients, their preferences, & their needs, which makes every visit feel personal & welcoming.
The owner is also very present, friendly, & attentive, which contributes greatly to the warm atmosphere of the restaurant.

La Sirène de la Mer is a Lebanese seafood restaurant. Located off the beaten path, it is worth a detour.
The restaurant is bright, spacious & clean, it features floor to ceiling windows which brings in a natural light. Service is formal, with white table cloth & uniformed waiters.
The menu showcases mainly seafood but not only, prepared in Lebanese, Eastern Mediterranean style, with fresh pita bread as an opener. We ordered fish & it was good. Portions were generous.
In addition to the restaurant, which is on the left side of the building, the right side of La Sirène de la Mer hosts a fresh seafood store, with a good variety of fresh fish & seafood, including live lobster.
The service, the food & the desserts, which were more distinctly Lebanese, Eastern Mediterranean in nature, were all delicious. The side order of truffle fries we added to our selection were also very tasty, perfectly done.
The food was delicious & savoury. The filet mignon was cooked absolutely perfectly. Great seafood dishes,as well.
We were a party of about 16-20 people. Out waiter seemed to be in a rush to serve us & clear our plates. We asked to keep our fries, but clear main dish. He said ok. Came back two mins later & removed our fries while we were talking with someone (distracted). Nice place overall, though.
My family & I love this restaurant. Chic but welcoming, perfect to celebrate a special occasion.
The staff is so nice & the food is delicious, the fish & seafood are so fresh. This place works great for bigger groups too - we like to order a bunch of appetizers & share. Their hummus, fried calamari, & aubergine salad are my personal favorites.
Incredible customer service! Every dish was exceptional! Next time we will order for the table & share....the labneh with mint & garlic will certainly get your attention! Scallops were not on the menu BUT were ordered from their fish market just adjacent. Need I say more? FYI: french fries, brown rice with pine nuts & onions, & wine leaves are a must
Excellent sea-food oriented Lebanese restaurant. Overall the best Lebanese restaurant I've tried in Montréal. The place is classic & elegant. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once it in, it really is nice. Service was very speedy, friendly & efficient. They brought us hot water to warm our baby bottle. Food wise, this is the closest to restaurants in Lebanon I've tried in the city. Most of the mezze were good or very good (hummus, fatoush, cheese rolls, veggie kebbeh, mouhamarah). Only one we didn't like was the babaghanouj, not smoky enough. The shish taouk was very good, so was the grilled octopus & the fried eggplant & zucchini. We had a great meal with family visiting from Lebanon & 2 very young kids. I woudl absolutely recommend to anyone looking to discover real lebanase food, either for a dinner with friends, family or a romantic dinner.
Very nice & welcoming staff. The restaurant is well located & has a cute terrace. However, the fattouche salad, the squid & the fries were not my favorite, overalla bit bland. The prices are very high for the quality of the food/ingredients.
I would give this restaurant 6 stars if I could because not only is their food impeccable but their seating is elegant, the overall atmosphere is beautiful & the staff may well be the most friendly & amazing staff I have yet to experience in Montreal! I go to this restaurant whenever I can as they go above & beyond for their customers & treat you like family! I must recommend the grilled octopus as it's their specialty! Best in the city! I recently had the honour of tasting my very first swordfish ever here & it was to die for! Simply scrumptious & out of this world! Their rice is succulent , their French fries crispy & delicious, & grilled vegetables are also heavenly ! The baklavas I had here also blew my mind as they were too, the very best & most delicious I ever had! Simply WOW One final comment is on the gentleman manager Milad who is wonderful, generous & overall one of the hardest working & most beautiful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! He goes above & beyond for his customers & has been doing so for over 30 years! I will only recommend this heavenly restaurant! A veritable gem of TMR ( The Town of Mont Royal ) & a blessing for me as I now live only blocks say from it!!!Bravo to the staff of La Sirène de la Mer for being a restaurant that exceeds expectations!!!! One of the best Lebanese restaurants. Great seafood, you can choose at the kitchen what you want to have. Loved the grilled fish, fried fish, the mezza, the grilled squids, the oysters, all cooked to perfection. Yummy 😋 & fresh. Best service 🤠 ever.
I have been coming to this restaurant shortly after it opened. By far one of the best places in the city for fresh seafood from their in house seafood store, but also freshly prepared in multiple cooking methods according the a clients preference. Their menue these days blends the Middle East with Mediterranean with a leaning to a leaning toward Lebanese food. So why not 5 stars instead of 4? Simple - I do not believe that the price is commensurate with the product. The product is good quality for sure & fresh for sure, but far too many times have I ordered the chicken & it was dry. Moreover, I find that the quantity to be a little less than it should be as well on numerous items. Now this could be because they have a captive market & an audience that fully accepts this, but for me I look at it in a fair manner for all audiences who've not been here. So, this being stated the decor is simple yet classy & the only flaw to this is the noise level as there is nothing to absorb sound at all. The staff are lovely though there are times where some have a difficult understanding & communicating in English & even French at times. The presentation is great & the seasoning of all the foods ( I have at this point tried everything on the menu), & tastes delicious to say the least. Obviously their edge is with their amazing seafood & fish products & although pricy, they are delicious & if you don't mind price - go for it you won't be let down at all. Their desserts are also delicious as noted in my photos & also a list, fattoush salad, & one of the best babaganoush in the city bar none. You might also find their shrimp plate to be exceptional as well as the little lightly breaded & fried fish (forget the type), & their foul is like being in the Middle East. Oddly enough, their (white) creamy clam chowder is chock full of clams & you'll want another bowl for sure as it rivals those from Boston. Service is very good & they do take care of you. It can be problematic when there are large table groups as the servers tend to favour these large groups more than a small table of two to four people. I suppose it may have to do with the size of the bill & associated tip but I can't blame the services for this as most servers would likely do the same. So to avoid this a little, I prefer to go earlier before the place gets too busy & noisy - say around 5:00 pm & no later than 5:45. By the time you're done your meal it will have filled up & become noisy. Don't forget to have dessert such as their chocolate cake, their baklava & their amazing cheese cake. Their wine & alcohol selection is rock solid & should please even the discerning connoisseur. Hope you enjoy eating here as much as we/I have over the years & will continue to on the future.
My friend highly recommended this restaurant, which seems to be a mix of Lebanese food & seafood. We had oysters, truffle fries, grilled octopus, & frog legs. The octopus was cooked to perfection, with such a tender interior. Its accompanying side was just average. The frog legs were good, but the lemony sauce hid the delicate natural flavor of the frog legs. On the expensive side for the food served, but it makes for a classy dining experience.
I have been going to la sirène de la mer for as long as I can remember. The quality, service, friendly & familiar atmosphere always gives me a great feeling & satisfied evening. I recommend for fancy or casual lunch/dinners, big or small groups. Always a great time!
