La Catrina ressort comme une adresse mexicaine vive et conviviale, avec des portions généreuses et des saveurs authentiques, le guacamole préparé à la table et les tacos variés étant particulièrement appréciés. L'ambiance, le décor coloré et la terrasse du Vieux Port contribuent à une expérience chaleureuse et festive qui donne envie de revenir en famille ou entre amis. Le service est généralement attentif et sympathique, et les margaritas ainsi que les plats frais sont souvent cités comme des points forts. Quelques observations sur le rythme du service lors des heures d'affluence existent, mais l'ensemble reste largement positif et favorable à une belle soirée.
Accueil débute avec un "bonjour-Hi!"& malgré le fait que nous répondons en français, la serveuse continue à nous parler en anglais/français. Nous étions sur la terrasse extérieure, banquettes inconfortables. Les prix sont très élevés par rapport à la qualité & surtout à la quantité. Portions minimes! Des tacos gros comme une rondelle de hockey! Pas possible de manger sans que la garniture s'échappe de tous côtés. Saveur insipide. Bière Coronna sans alcool à 9$!! Avec le pourboire ça coûté 40$ avec l'impression d'avoir mangé une entrée...qui nous laisse le ventre vide & nos poches aussi! Je ne recommande pas ce resto......

C'était notre 1e fois, un lundi soir! Très bonne ambiance, excellent service, on y retournera sans hésiter , les tacos au porc & au crevettes sont divinement bons 😋
Good food & ambience. I recommend the fried chicken tacos that come with watermelon salsa. Ask for some hot sauce & drizzle that on top, & it tastes so good! We also got the fish tacos which were good too. Only one vegetarian option that is so dry (shredded hard tofu)- I don't recommend it at all. We also got a salad on the side (I don't remember what kind it was) & it was so tasty & fresh! Service was slightly slow despite the restaurant not being busy.
The drinks were good & so was the guacamole. They make the guacamole at your table so that's nice. Location is nice too, we sat at the terrace. Prices are decent especially for old-port. The food though was underwhelming. We chose the quinoa salad & taco taste menu which was chicken, fish, pulled beef & vegetarian. The pulled beef was way too salty the fish was soggy. The only one sorta worth eating was the chicken one. Maybe it's what we chose to eat but I probably wouldn't go back.
The tacos were nothing short of fantastic-each one bursting with flavor, fresh ingredients, & perfectly balanced spices. Whether you prefer traditional fillings or something more adventurous, there's something on the menu to satisfy every craving. The drinks were not only visually stunning but also packed with bold, creative flavors that paired perfectly with the food. Whether you're a fan of classic margaritas or enjoy trying something new, the cocktail menu here will not disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant was vibrant & lively, making it a great spot for a fun night out with friends or a casual dinner date. The staff were friendly & attentive, adding to the overall excellent dining experience.
Le service est un peu long mais la nourriture est bonne. L'excellence c'est les cocktails 🤩 Délicieux! Jeudi Tacos à volonté. Ceux aux poissons sont délicieux, tandis que ceux au Tofu sont très fades. L'ambiance est géniale, l'emplacement dans le vieux port est super.
Mexican restaurants should have amazing hot sauces --the only one available here was mediocre & bit sweet. The ceviche was quite untinteresting, the pastor tacos were very good.

Resto magnifique surtout pour les tacos Tuesday, Clémence a pris tellement soin de nous, nous sommes très contents de se faire servir par elle. Je recommande
Lovely staff, well located & very yummy tacos! They did the guacamole fresh right in front of you. The music was quite loud & the food is on the pricier side - however, it was definitely worth it.

Imagine a cozy little bistro tucked away on a street corner, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee & sizzling bacon welcomes you like an old friend. This is the kind of place where great conversations are not just encouraged, but practically inevitable. My wife & I had passed by this area several times in the last few weeks & it's always been crowded & there's line up & today was different, & we took a chance to sit down & grab a cold one. The star of the evening is undoubtedly the Tacos Tasting Platter. As you savor each bite, you find yourself drawn into deep discussions about life, love, & everything in between, surrounded by the warm glow of night. In this enchanting culinary haven, every dish serves as a catalyst for connection & camaraderie. We had one of the more deep converstations as we both look back on what year we had in the last 12 months. Being here in Montreal was not on our list to do, nor living in Old Montreal. Much thanks to the staff of this establishment, for they made our night wonderful.
On a passé un très bon moment à la Catrina. Le guacamole préparé à la table était très bon, même si un peu cher. Les tacos au poulet & boeuf étaient délicieux.
Lidia is a superstar - what an amazing & wonderful server; authentic, engaging, & charisma for days! We're buying whatever she's selling. Yaneck is all kinds of wonderful as well... Not to mention his uncanny resemblance to Javier Bardem, hellooooooh 😍 The only thing better than the exceptional service are the margaritas & chicken tacos! The watermelon topping was an inventive & refreshing surprise - well done 👏 Go here, friends, you'll enjoy. I promise.
