Review Summary

Reviews describe La Cabane à Tuque as a vegan, sustainability-focused sugar shack with a unique forest setting and an all-you-can-eat format that emphasizes local organic ingredients. The atmosphere feels warm and family-like, with attentive staff and a sense of authentic community that many find refreshing compared with traditional sugar shacks. The menu showcases creative plant-based dishes, including lentils, tempeh, millet pâté, potatoes and sausages, as well as buckwheat crepes and comforting desserts, along with maple specialties such as maple taffy on snow; a forest walk and other simple activities are noted as enhancements to the experience. Some reviewers mention that flavors can be subtler than omnivore fare due to fewer processed ingredients, but praise the care, health focus, and sustainable approach that appeals to vegans, vegetarians and even omnivores alike. Overall the impression is that La Cabane à Tuque offers a distinctive, wholesome, convivial experience that many would return for, with strong emphasis on local sourcing, environmental consciousness, and family friendly hospitality.

If you are vegan, vegetarian, or (like me) an omnivore who loves good vegan & vegetarian food, this welcoming farm slightly outside of Mont Tremblant is a delightful place to spend some time during the sugaring season - & to sample an alternative take on a traditional Quebecois sugar shack family-style meal. Our host Simone is a renaissance man: farmer, chef, father, & builder, & his love of the vegan & organic lifestyle shines through the whole experience. You can tour the many maple trees on the property & even taste the delicious maple taffy that results from pouring the boiled rendered sap over the snow until it reaches chewy, gooey goodness.

Simone is also very well-traveled & at home in either English or French - & he is full of fascinating conversation as you enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner meal. We rented a car & drove up from Montreal for the day, but it's also an easy & quick drive from the Mont Tremblant slopes if you are up for a skiing vacation.

An absolute must-go experience for any vegetarian or vegan. Even the omnivores in my group were very happy with the food. Back to a basic wholesome experience with real connection. Great!

Super !
