We came & the person that assisted us was very sweet & helpful. He explained to us how to open oysters. Since we took them to go they gave us ice so they stayed fresh. Quality Quantity & price is perfect.
Bought 2 boxes of different oysters When I asked the cashier to explain the difference between the 2 varieties, she responded « the taste »! Duh!! I am sure she could have done better, especially for the amount of money spent.
Some damn good oysters! Fair prices for exceptional quality & the staff know their stuff. They are not playing games here; unfortunately you have no choice but to leave with a smile on your face. This spot will be a staple for me every time I visit Montreal. Please come to Toronto, we need good seafood purveyors like you guys.
I went to Montreal, & I was impressed by the quality of their oysters!! they have many varieties from different parts of the world! I love large oysters, & I found my favorites there! 10 stars, one of the best oyster bars in the world
Amazing oysters! Love going there & having some fresh oysters & then go for a walk around the Jean Talon market. Definitely a must!
The young lady seller here is quite knowledgeable & convincing. Glad we did the exploration combo with four types of oysters from east west coast of canada, US & Ireland. Believe it or not, PEI oysters were the best. The BC oysters were a bit fishy in smell. The oysters from Cape Cod were also flavourful! Quite a specialty store!
We visited Montreal in May 2024, & were staying in the hotel. My sister & I were going to buy some oysters back to cook in the hotel. Knowing that we won't be back to the hotel to cook the oysters within 1 hour, the lady was reluctant to sell oysters with shells opened to us to ensure their freshness. After much discussion, she sold us some & showed us how to open the oysters twice & once more before we left. With her instructions, I was able to open without cracking any. The oysters were so fresh & I would give 10/10. Customer service provided by the lady was amazing, she is all about ensuring customers have the best experience with the oysters & not about making sales.
I was here on Saturday around noon & when I saw the lovely selection of oysters, I couldn't resist. The chucker man was very charismatic & told us a little about the different types of oysters. We tried 6 varieties for lunch. They are high in protein & very satisfying. It was a perfect light lunch. We also took some home for Sunday & they were wonderful all over again! I will be back!
Great customer service. Tried three types of oysters. My favorite was the raspberry.
Great & simple. More oysters than the ocean (seriously, must be 10+ varietals.) We got the chef's choice package & just told them we wanted something briney. Was about $3CAD per oyster & came with sauces. Highly recommend if you like oysters.
It was a very crowded raw oyster bar on the corner of the public market. I had the slurp & slurp express & was impressed with the quality & flavours. Although I’m not sure if it was worth $18, I still enjoyed the oysters & recommend this place to anyone visiting the public market!
Wow!!!

We were happy to be part of La Boite aux Huîtres's first ever edition of the "Merci pour les Huîtres" event ("Thank you for the Oysters" event) in collaboration with Virginia Seafood. Three kinds of oysters were part of the event:
J&W Seafood from Lower Bay Western Shore, Massawadox Salts from Upper Bay Eastern Shore & Sewansecott from Seaside.
A little suggestion, the next time you will pass by the Jean-Talon market, come visit La Boite aux Huîtres & slurp some fresh delicious oysters! We promise you will fall in love all over again with the sea because we did!
