Review Summary

La Baraque du Vieux St-Vincent comes across as a warm, welcoming spot with a cozy vibe and attentive staff that shine whether for a quick bite or a relaxed dinner. The menu earns high marks for comforting favorites like smoked meat and poutine, with popular choices such as the smoked meat club sandwich and a well balanced burger, both paired with crispy fries and a tasty homemade sauce. Service is noted as prompt and friendly, and guests appreciate the inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind, including a patio option and outdoor seating in Old Montreal, plus a pet friendly policy in the summer. Prices are described as reasonable and good value by many, though a few patrons felt the meals were a bit pricey for what is offered. Some reviews mention the place can feel touristy at times, but overall the experience is seen as a solid, unpretentious gem with hearty portions, flavorful comfort food, and a relaxed setting suitable for watching a game or sharing with friends.

If you're looking for a classic comfort food with a twist, La Baraque Resto Bar hits the mark. This cozy restaurant serves up a selection of dishes, but two standouts from the menu for us are their Hamburger La Baraque & Smoked Meat Sandwich.
The patty of the burger is juicy, well-seasoned, & cooked to perfection. It's got that classic grilled flavor, but it's not overly greasy. The bun is soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together-no soggy mess here. What sets this burger apart is the toppings: fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, mushroom & peppers that balance the richness of the beef. The fries on the side? Perfectly crispy, golden brown, & seasoned just right.

Now, let's talk about the Smoked Meat Club. If you're a fan of tender, smoky meat, this is the dish for you. The meat is infused with a rich, smoky flavor that's downright tasty!
Whether you're in the mood for a burger that hits all the right notes or a smoky, savory sandwich that will leave you craving more, this resto bar delivers on both fronts. Definitely worth a visit!

To the waitress who served us today with a BIG SMILE … Thank you !

La Baraque Restobar Cafe offers a decent dining experience with a variety of options to suit different tastes. We tried the vege poutine, veggie burger, & chicken fingers. The vege poutine was satisfying, with a generous portion of fries, cheese curds, & gravy. However, it lacked a bit of seasoning to make it stand out. The veggie burger was well-prepared & flavorful, with a good mix of vegetables & spices, though the patty was slightly dry. The chicken fingers were crispy & well-cooked, a solid choice for a classic dish. Overall, La Baraque provides a comfortable atmosphere & decent food, though there is room for some improvement in flavor & seasoning.
