Review Summary

Kutum Montreal comes across as a warm, family-run Bengali-French fusion spot with a cozy, welcoming vibe and a terrace. The menu blends Bengali flavors with French and other influences, featuring tacos, tapas, naan pizza, shakshuka, and brunch plates, praised for creative twists and flavorful execution. Rewards include a pistachio Nutella latte and hibiscus tea, described as standouts, while the dishes are noted for bold spice blends and balanced flavors. Service is frequently described as friendly and attentive, with a personable touch and music that enhances the dining experience. Occasional notes mention longer wait times or uneven seasoning on a few dishes, with some items being saltier or less bold, but this seems outweighed by overall satisfaction and the sense of a hidden gem. Halal status and a focus on showcasing Bangladeshi cuisine in Montreal are repeatedly praised, and many call Kutum a must-visit in the Laurier East area, likely to return for brunch or more dishes.

Kutum is such a hidden gem in Montréal! The Best & ONLY Bangladeshi Fusion restaurant in Canada! The food is flavorful & creative, blending Bengali spices with fun twists like naan pizza, tacos, & brunch plates. The atmosphere feels warm & welcoming-clearly a family-run place with a lot of heart. The owners are a friendly young passionate couple, they checked on us making sure everything is okay. Can't wait to go back to try their brunch menu!

Super cute family-run business. We really enjoyed the Shakshuka & pita bread pizza. Would come by again.

I recently visited this fine establishment with my family & absolutely loved the food, ambiance & the friendly service.
We had ordered beef bowls, tiger prawn & chicken pizza. Every one of the dishes were outstanding.
I highly recommend visiting Kutum & experiencing all that they have to offer.

Bon appétit !!

Absolutely loved everything about this new restaurant! The decor is rustic, cozy & instagrammable, the food is cooked with love & the service is top notch! Most importantly, their attempt at Bangladeshi cuisine with the stylings of Spanish tapas & french brunch dishes, absolutelt landed for me. Particularly, the chicken hearts tapas dish took me straight back to the 90s, enjoying mom's cooking in the family dining room. Afsara & Anabail are doing a wonderful job bringing the tastes of their culture to the Montréal gastronomy scene & their passion & sincerity is apparent in every morsel on the plate.

We heard a lot of good things about this place & went with the family to try. We sat inside as it was too hot. There was only one person who is doing everything in the front. She didn't mention about the items that are not available while giving the menu card. It took them a while to prepare the food & not everything came at the same time. There was a good 25 to 30 mins between the serving of first & the last dish. Most of the items were a bit salty. I was very disappointed to see slices of plain white bread with the omelette. For the washroom you have to go through the kitchen which is kind of awkward. Everytime we had to ask for normal regular things like water, napkins & utensils. The overall service could be improved a lot. Being the only person in the front also doesn't help when clearly they are not professionals. Hopefully they can quickly improve in those areas to better serve the clients.

A Delicious Fusion of Tradition & Taste!

I've been craving something that blends my favorite meals with the bold, comforting taste of spices that I grew up with & finally, I found it!

This lovely couple has created something truly special, infusing familiar dishes with the rich, aromatic Bangladeshi spices! 😍

The flavors are simply unforgettable.... Discovering this fusion was like finding home on a plate. The food isn't just delicious-it's made with heart, & you can feel the warmth of a family touch in every dish!

I only tried a few items this time, but I'm already counting down the days until I go back to taste more.......
A truly delightful experience!
