Review Summary

Kutum Montreal comes across as a warm, family-run Bengali-French fusion spot with a cozy, welcoming vibe and a terrace. The menu blends Bengali flavors with French and other influences, featuring tacos, tapas, naan pizza, shakshuka, and brunch plates, praised for creative twists and flavorful execution. Rewards include a pistachio Nutella latte and hibiscus tea, described as standouts, while the dishes are noted for bold spice blends and balanced flavors. Service is frequently described as friendly and attentive, with a personable touch and music that enhances the dining experience. Occasional notes mention longer wait times or uneven seasoning on a few dishes, with some items being saltier or less bold, but this seems outweighed by overall satisfaction and the sense of a hidden gem. Halal status and a focus on showcasing Bangladeshi cuisine in Montreal are repeatedly praised, and many call Kutum a must-visit in the Laurier East area, likely to return for brunch or more dishes.

What a gem of a place! The food was absolutely delicious: a great blend of flavours & beautifully spiced. I had the beef plate with rice & naan bread. The salad was very fresh. The service was exceptional & the music playing in the background was soft enough that we could easily carry on a conversation. We will most definitely be returning often. Thank you!

I recently visited this fine establishment with my family & absolutely loved the food, ambiance & the friendly service.
We had ordered beef bowls, tiger prawn & chicken pizza. Every one of the dishes were outstanding.
I highly recommend visiting Kutum & experiencing all that they have to offer.

Bon appétit !!

**First of all, Kutum Team, I must appreciate the fact that you have positioned your restaurant as Bangladeshi fusion. This was a bold & risky move, as most Bangladeshi restaurant owners I have seen in various parts of the world hesitate to associate themselves with Bangladeshi cuisine. Many fear that other ethnic communities may not be familiar with Bangladesh, making it risky to brand their restaurant as something like Bangladeshi-French fusion. After all, it's a business decision.

Salute to you for proudly representing Bangladesh & creating a name for it out there. 10/10 for business authenticity & genuineness.

Secondly, the tacos were excellent! I could taste jhuri mangsho flavors in the beef taco, beautifully blended with a Mexican touch. The shrimp taco felt like dupiyaju chingri infused with Mexican salsa. Absolutely delightful - I highly recommend them.

A small suggestion: please be a bit more attentive with seasoning in the chicken platter, though the beef platter was very good. In fact, you should consider creating a separate section on your menu for pure Bangladeshi flavors - like the beef - so people can enjoy that authentic taste as well.

Overall, well done, guys! I would highly recommend everyone to visit Kutum, support them, & help them grow even better.

My unbiased rating: 4.5/5.**

A Must-Try Spot in Montreal!
We flew in from Edmonton to explore Montreal & Kutum was high on our list-& it did not disappoint! It was our first time trying it & we had the beef tapas, beef rice bowl, & shakshuka. Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, & clearly made with care.

The space itself is quiet & cozy, with a warm, welcoming vibe from the host that made us feel right at home. Our food arrived timely & nothing felt rushed-the quality & attention to detail really stood out.

We loved how the menu offered a unique fusion of Bangladeshi flavors with a twist. Portions were just right, & the taste? Absolutely worth the hype.

If you're in Montreal, Kutum is a must-visit-especially if you want to support a local, hardworking business that's delivering something truly special & delicious!
