View more
We went here for lunch. We only ordered sushi rolls & sashimi & honestly it was fantastic. Some of the best sushi I've had in Montreal. Service was excellent as well. Will definitely be back!View more
View more
Really good quality (some of it local) fish, chill atmosphere & excellent service! We chose the smaller sushi option x 2 & it was plenty of food. Such a wonderful spotView more
Les meilleurs sushi en ville. Belle découverte pour le saké. Service impeccable. Merci pour la belle soirée.View more
We had a delicious & fun mean at Jun I. We loved the service, & the fish was very fresh. It was billed as the best omakase in Montreal &, while great, it is not. The hot & cold dishes were ok, but stand out. The sushi & sashimi were great but the maki roll we got was ok. Recommend trying it & loving it when you have the right expectations.View more
Amazing place. Exceptionnal sushi. Tuna tartare out of this world. Drinks original & fresh. I LOVE ITView more
Top sushi for quality & freshness. Definitely get a variety sashimi. The miso soup has such deep & delicious flavours. They also offer a wide variety of rolls. The one thing I wish this restaurant had was sushi made at & served at the bar, like true omakase style.View more
Excellent sushi place. They have a small, but meaningful menu. The restaurant is very lively & inviting. We had dinner on a Wed, starting at open, & by 7 pm, all the tables were full. Three primary things on the menu: - "omakase" (in quotes because it is table-side, not traditional, bar-side, one-bite at a time). Includes 4 hot dishes, & 15 nigiri, maki, sashimi, - only the 15 raw-fish option, - a-la-carte. We opted for the 15 raw-fish option "omakase" with a couple of add-ons. The candied salmon trout was amazing. Sushi were fresh & tasty, albeit no premium pieces (CAD 75 for 15 pieces is quite generous, & hard to get premium pieces), Service was fantastic. Recommend.View more
The sushi was exceptional as were the service & ambience. Best sushi in the city bar none !View more
Went in on a Friday evening, & the main issue was the service. Our waiter forgot a part of our order (miso soup), & as the first sushi (fried) plate came in, we asked about the soup. The waiter came by & accused us of not ordering it, which was of poor taste. We were also disappointed that the restaurant served us their sushi rolls before serving us our sashimi orders. At 8pm on a Friday, they were out of ingredients for martinis. Just overall disappointing, & not a sushi experience I would repeat.View more
View more
As a group of seven, we ordered the omakase menu. The owner, Jun san, made us feel welcome from the very beginning. From the appetizers to the main sushi & desserts, everything was a delightful surprise. My companions repeatedly said that each item was the best Japanese food they had ever eaten. We had a great time here with thier food & service & were so happy with our choice. As I knew from before, he is the best chef & & definitely want to come again!View more
A very lovely sushi restaurant, where I would have to recommend at least doing the moriawase option. I did not try the omakase option, & maybe regret not doing so in hindsight. If deciding a la carte, do try the scallop gunkan & if possible the japanese mackerel (it was a unique offering during our visit). The establishment is pretty but small & relatively modest. Almost too small as you can hear a loud table quite easily. You may be taken aback by the simplicity of it all, including the disposable chopsticks for your use. Hiding behind the first impressions however are a warm towel to clean your hands, unique off-menu options, a knowledgeable & thoughtful server, & an amuse bouche that was a substantially sized gunkan sushi in our case. Be ready to pay upwards of $100 per person to leave satisfied, but also be ready to receive over-average sushi sizes. Each piece of sushi is on average 5 dollars with regards to the moriawase, but each is sized reasonably. I enjoyed the Jun Gin cocktail, sumashi soup appetizer, & the white chocolate/yuzu/fennel dessert. The latter was very unique, helped cut the fishiness left over on my plate, & frankly made my night. I hope to return here!View more
I did take out once during the pandemic, the quality of fish & sushi were all top tier in MontrealView more
Amazing sushi, great service & great ambiance! I strongly recommend the Funny Maki 👌View more
One of my favourite sushi places in Montreal. They could change the menu a bit more but at least it's great everytime you go. I've been several times & recommend!View more
Food (especially Sushi) did not stand out in term of its flavor.View more
Sushi quality is very good. Place is nice. Service needs work (too many people). Little noisy.View more
The service is good, but the food is disappointing. The Omakase tasting menu is 90$ per person so I had high expectation, but turns out the food doesn't stand out from other normal sushi restaurants (price range around 30$ per person). What frustrated me most is the whole environment. As an expensive Japanese sushi restaurant with tasting menu, the chopsticks are disposable. I mean, can you imagine a steakhouse gives its customers plastic knife & fork? Also, it was super noisy in the back & the background music is just too loud, from Flo Rida's Low to Bon Jovi's It's My Life. I love all these music, but I just expected a more quiet & formal environment here. Overall, the food & environment just aren't worth the price. My suggestion is don't choose this restaurant for a date or a formal occasion, cuz it is super expensive & it won't meet your expectations.View more
View more
Such great food & service! This was a dinner date/surprise for me & I was thrilled with the experience. It's small & intimate, but service is quick & attentive. The sushi was incredible & it was quite affordable for al a cart or tasting menu options & a great selection of unique dishes as well.View more
My husband & I got the omakase for two. We enjoyed our time & food, but if we were to return in the future, I think we would order sushi off the regular menu. Most of the omakase dishes were good, but a few too many of them were just'okay' for our liking. Nonetheless, we are huge sushi fans & we enjoyed our time.View more
The we worst sushi ever. I ve been to this restaurant few years ago, itcwas an amazing experience. But yesterday i was really disappointed & sad. Paying more than 100 $ for a mediocre food & sushi. It was very amateurish. I will ever go again to this restaurant instead i ll learn how to make my own sushi since am used to buy a very high quality of fish. Why bother to throw away my money on a such bad experience. It's a total scam. Mistake a client with the poor food but very expensive one. Not to mention long service.
Very disappointing experience, food was average. Our server was nice but the others were rude. There are so many great options for sushi than this one.View more
Really loved this place & was happy I was able to get in during this visit to Montreal. The sushi & service was excellent, along with a great ambiance for dinner. The menu was way bigger than I thought it'd be which is always a good thing. The more things to try the better!View more
We got the omakase for two. I think the food was fine, the sushi itself being the best part. If we were to do it again we would probably only get sushi because we found that some of the other dishes slightly lacked seasoning. The evening started pretty quiet & quickly got busy & louder, but we were still able to enjoy the end of our meal. Service was efficient & professional though not particularly warm or inviting.View more
